Alarm clock might actually be a fun addition to the game, put the battery in, set the alarm and hid it under the bed in barracks to give someone looting them a mini heart attack.

Not about one person, but if devs keep ignoring requests for more content that isn't guns, or even to bring back some of the deleted content he won't be the only one. And DayZ has a lot of negative reviews from people who have a lot of hours in the game, which will put of potential new buyers. If I was thinking about buying it and saw a review from someone who had this game from early access in 2013 saying that the game has been all but abandoned by devs who won't even fix car physics and want me to pay £34 for it and it being "officially released" while realistically it's late beta and that's being generous I probably spend my money on something else.

Experimental Update 1.16 (Change Log)
General Zod replied to lynn.zaw's topic in PC Experimental Updates
I'm pretty sure DayZ has as small skeleton crew as possible, just enough to make few minor fixes in each patch and throw in a new gun to give an impression that something is being done. I feel sorry for people who buy this game now for the full price. This is a joke for a game that needs so much more work. -
Experimental Update 1.16 (Change Log)
General Zod replied to lynn.zaw's topic in PC Experimental Updates
It won't damage it, it will cause certain memory cells to wear out quicker than others. Shame no changes to the excessive hunger and thirst. I don't understand why are devs so adamantly against reducing the amount of food and loot in general in this game. Also, obviously MOAR GUNZ in case anyone still clings on to the long lost hope that this is a survival game and not a battle royale shooter. -
I'll give it a go, I'm currently playing on community server with more loot and stamina but vanilla otherwise.

I found that if you have cold / flu you also end up vomiting when you eat a lot in one go. Realistically if you ate 3 tetra in a row, followed with codeine and vitamins you should be fine by now, which suggests you're sickness might be bugged, if all else fails hide your gear in a safe spot, kill yourself and go find it.
-
I'm not sure if that wouldn't change it from almost useless to almost too good.

If people want to play heavily modded servers that are basically a DayZ style battle royale with show off clothing and stupid gun selection it's their choice, either to set one up or to play on it. No one is forcing you play on those. But I agree that the non modded version of this game is a mess and devs are not doing much about it.

Shame you're not on PC, I'd bring you more nails and CR75's that you can carry for that LAR.

It equally makes no sense to starve with a can of beans and no tool to open it. You best believe that if I was starvation level hungry I'd open those beans with the nearest hard object, be it a rock, a sledge hammer or a shovel. And I'd eat off the floor with all the dirt and sand that got in it, while it tastes like a 2 michelin star meal made just for me.

Rádio with Personal Music
General Zod replied to KommanderWar-94971bcb672f9055's topic in Suggestions
That is so much hard work. Way too much hard work. Just play some music over speakers and double press caps to have voice coms on all the time. -
I think it does, you have two marks down when sitting down with yellow temp as opposed to just one with white temp.
-
I think more military and large caliber guns is the last thing this game needs. If you want a sniper better than pioneer that takes suppressors go find yourself an SVD.
-
I think we need more improvisation, for example introduction of clip hooks would be great, combined with a rope you could make a DIY holster for something like a gas mask. If you were in a scenario where there is areal risk of having combat gas deployed at any location at any time you would definitely improvise a way to have a gas mask with you without it taking up so much space in your inventory.
-
That is correct, they have very high shock damage, but very low health damage.

Hacker on DayZ US 3664263 (66.242.11.162:2602)

That's like telling someone who had his heart broken by a girl to go gay. -
Fully support this idea, too many time I had gas drop on my head when I was in a building with not enough time to get away, there is no way you can see the flair and you can't always hear the artillery, not only should we be able to attach the gas mask to the belt but (and this was already suggested) there should be also a warning over the portable radio. Lets face right now 95% of players will not pick up the radio. This will give it utility and who knows maybe even provide some distraction from killing one another.

# Construction in DayZ. Problems and suggestions.
General Zod replied to akula692008's topic in Suggestions
Having generator running to power your face give away the position of your base to nearby players. Then would either just have to wait for it to run out of fuel or ruin with guns or grenades. I don't agree with authorisation. If you chose to make your base in a building you have to accept the risk that someone might have logged out in that building. -
Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
General Zod replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
I think it gives you more control over the speed of movement, on pc it's either full movement or standstill the W is either pressed or not, the stick gives you those two and every speed in between. That being said I haven't played DayZ on consoles so I don't know if this applies to this particular game or is the movements equally spastic. -
Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
General Zod replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
I got DayZ in early access in December 2013, that's over 9 years ago. The official release for PC was 2018 and 2019 for consoles. 5 years of having thousands of people doing the testing for you and all the additional income those early purchases generated and you still say this rushed ? And now, another 3 years after the official release this game still has an arm long list of major issues. 22 months from now 10 years will have passed since the initial release. Most studios manage to release an entire franchise of finished games across all platforms and 2 console generations in that time period. And somehow BI cannot get just one game to work. Which means that they either don't care, or this game is fubar. -

Oh no, someone is not agreeing with me, so I'm going to hide his posts and only read the ones from my yesman who encourage my deluded views. -

Must be even nicer in the land of PC master race delusion where if only those pesky consoles didn't exist DayZ would a well optimised game where everything works and a super hardcore survival game. And literally no one is talking about hackers taking down servers but rather in game cheats which are not present on consoles. Truth is you're annoyed at the pathetic technical state of this game, and cling on to the idea of if dayz stayed a PC exclusive devs would have fixed this game. Or that the only reason why more survival isn't being added is because of consoles as if console players aren't buying DayZ for the same reason we did. Because it was supposed to be hardcore survival game, and it's not. News flash, if they were going to fix the game and add proper survival they would regardless of making console version or not. The only reason why they haven't it's because it somehow became acceptable in the gaming industry to release absolute garbage of a product, take the money and do fuck all to fix it. -
Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay

PS4 controller has 14 buttons that can be used for actions : the arrows, the shapes, the R's and the L's plus a touch pad. So including things like long / short press, double press and pressing two at the same time surely is more than enough to create a functional control system. It might lack the number of buttons to give you as many shortcuts as PC or the separate keys for gesture which very few people use and if they do it's 99% just the hands up in the ultra rare scenario when you don't get shot straight away. Other than that what do you use ? C to crouch / lay down, F to interact, R to reload and G to throw and Q and E for peaking. 6 (out of over 100) of your keyboard buttons account easily for 70%+ of what you use regularly but yeah sure 14 isn't enough. Walking and sneaking is miles better using sticks than it is using keyboard. -

Source on that ? Because from looking at the console section it seems that they are as unhappy with hit markers as the pc players. Unless of course the source is "trust me bro, console players want it easy". -

No we're not, you're blaming consoles for the decisions that Bi made. There are thousands upon thousands games that are available for both PC and consoles that are properly developed and fully functional. Porting the game for consoles should make BI even more driven to fix it, since if the game was working well I'd sell more even copies.
