What DayZ also needs to be even more realistic?
General Zod replied to Otis.Driftwood's topic in Suggestions
Some dying animations, you know guy reaching out with his hand or pressing his wound, screaming in shock, something to make you feel you just killed someone rather than them just dropping down like a ton of rocks. -

Ranking / Honor system to deal with KOS issue
General Zod replied to JoshEvzz's topic in Suggestions
Calling someone idiot because he does not agree with your idea which in fact is ridiculous and suggesting you go play a game where you can buy from an NPC ? Also at no point he insulted you, you started it. This game is meant to be a sandbox, meaning you can do whatever you want and there is no reward or punishment. -
Found one on the airport close to Krasnostav attached to this fella

Solution B will also prevent me from logging out in a safe spot of my choice, in some bushes or other remote location. -
Server restarts, spawn in with no gear

I lost my gear 5 times in last 48 hours -
No, it's just his explosive personality.

That actually sounds good, adding some death animation that will illicit emotional response of those who kill. Like in new Tomb Rider, death scenes actually made me feel sorry for young Lara.

How to fix KoS and banditry with this great system
General Zod replied to phoboss's topic in General Discussion
Sure, but we live in a strange world and as such, if they add suicide bombing followers of one particular religion who are renowned for such acts, might become offended, and than devs are in trouble. -
And you describe the target for bounty hunter ? It's not like everyone looks different. There are limited number of character models and thing they can wear. So how do you know who to kill ? Or you just tell him that some guy hangs out in spot X and kills people, and he goes there shots every geared guy he sees ? Seems like much KoS will be going around.

See that's where you're wrong. Poeple don't kill for the gear, because unless it's a headshot it ruins all the gear, right now ruined gear can still be used, something I believe will change in future. So KoS players will get zero gear unless they can shoot accurately enough to make it headshots only. Poeple who will want to rob will get a drop on you, subdue, restrain you and take what they want, than they'll decide whether to let you live or end you.

That made me laugh so hard. Seriously, I though only Americans considered driving a car without automatic shifter some sort of skill that's hard to acquire. (No offence)

While I don't mind spawning moderately thirsty and soon also hungry, what I do mind is spawning moderately thirsty and soon also hungry when I can't loot for food and drink because zombies see and walk through walls. So a small suggestion, why don't you reduce the thirst and hunger when spawning so that player can actually find a place to loot without being chased by a zombies with superman like Xray vision and ignorance for the walls ? To make it even worse, it's very hard to down right impossible to kill zombies with anything less than an axe. Since one hit will make you bleed. Crowbar is the minimum you need to kill a zombie, anything below that is worthless. Before you all come down on me with wrath and smiting. This is proposed only because zombies are broken and are a real pain for new players, the fact that we lose our gear for no good reason is not helping either.

Or wait there armed and just either kill them or just deny access to water. Also if there will be high chance of getting sick from water without said tablets, surviving as new player will go from relatively difficult to rage festival. They can't make it to harsh on fresh players because a lot of players will just give up on the game if it will take several attempts not to die within 15 minutes of spawn every time you start fresh. I think giving new players a small bottle of water and one can of food wouldn't be that bad. It won't last long but it will prevent people from giving up on the game. Because once they add lots of zombies, 100 people servers and all the diseases and injuries new players will be dropping like flies. We need to find balance between harsh environment and fight for survival and making freshers miserable.

Lucky you having a canteen, but in my opinion drinking from a pond takes to long I mean it's around 40-50 clicks if you are moderately thirsty. It adds to a danger factor which me likey, but it's the clicking part that kills me a little every time I have to drink.

This I fully support. Luckily server hoppers do occasionally lose their gear. -
How to fix KoS and banditry with this great system
General Zod replied to phoboss's topic in General Discussion
One of the reason KoS is so popular right now is that once you gear up there isn't much to do in game any more. You have three choices 1. Be a hero - helping people 2. Be a bandit - robbing people 3. Be a KoS - just kill for your amusement and despair of others Once there are things to do after you gear up KoS will drop on it's own because all those bored players will have something to do. Also people some people are trying things, I started with a 3 people bandit/harassment squad, we travelled around the map robbing people or just messing with them, after that for two days I was wandering the map on my own with a mosin killing everything, just to see what's that like, got bored fast. After that during one day I helped out three different people, gave them water and food and helped one unarmed survivor clear out zombies so that he could loot balota and nearby base. -
Combatlogging, what it is, and how to prevent it
General Zod replied to phoboss's topic in Suggestions
While combat logging is in plain wrong, server hopping considering current state of the game may not necessarily be as evil as you make it look. I sometimes do it and I hate having to do it. When I want to gear up I find nice and empty server so that I'm not interrupted. But considering that loot respawns every 4 hours and there are no means of fast travel between places people are getting seriously fed up with running across the map for 20-30 minutes just get search other military base. This will change when loot spawn happens not just when server resets and when you have means to travel at decent speed, because right now gearing up feels like playing long distance running simulator. As for combat logging, yes a timer would be nice but not 5 minutes. -
And what if nearby pumps have this ? This time I lucky because it was the only one zombie there and facing away, but in most cases there are two and facing the pump.

If you want faster load times join the SSD club, they aren't that expensive and they are a must have for people who believe that Impatience is a virtue.
-
Hardly breaking the game, also Demoth has a good point, loot only re-spawns when server restarts which is every 4 hours, which can make finding stuff before it's to late downright impossible. Simply the thirst and hunger are too harsh at the start and they progress too fast you go from moderately thirsty to dying of dehydration in 15 minutes.

Now I hope it's a bug not a feature, because it makes no sense at all.

Suggestion - disable VOIP during gameplay

Also outside voip is in my opinion same type of advantage as 3rd person view, which allows you to see what you normally would not be able to see. -
Suggestion - disable VOIP during gameplay
General Zod replied to conan the librarian's topic in Suggestions
They work to some extent, still it will be unfair towards some people. Long story short, there is no chance at all to block external program from game level, they will loose countless players with that. It is also highly unlikely that they will made voip always on. All you can do is
