Good, buildings are for looting not for you hoarding squatters.
-
Well they aren't the brain eating type, they are the 28 days later beat you to a bloody pulp type. Maybe the level of damage the zeds do could increase the more inland we move, so that it's not too harsh on freshies who already struggle but is actually hard on geared survivors who have it too easy now. Say Coast zombies stay the way there are Middle of the map do more HP damage but leave you be as the coast one Further north they hit even harder and leave you with a flashing red health Military zeds kill you.
-
Wouldn't they need to introduce ragdoll before this can be implemented ? And considering what happens to cars I'm pretty sure when that happens we'll see corpses behaving the same way.

Ok but what isn't true to life is the spasticated way of throwing a grenade in dayz In real life I can hold a grenade is mostly ready to throw position while removing the pin which means I can throw one almost instantly Mean while throwing a grenade in dayz Hold the grenade in a hand by your hips Raise the hands and unpin the grenade Lower the hands AGAIN while holding the now unpinned grenade (it starts to smoke now) Get into a throwing stance (by that time the grenade is already smoking full blast) Hold the throw button to load up Release to throw. Since we definitely won't get the way we throw the grenade changed they need to change the delay on it starting to release the smoke. There is a reason smoke grenades are almost never used in this game.

So the solution would be to either make the infected stagger less back which would kind of defeat the purpose of loaded up strikes or and this is the better solution to allow players to move forward during the combo.

Reshaping player points of interests
General Zod replied to Stalker z Czarnobyla's topic in Suggestions
While I would like survived gunshot wounds to be more of an issue than they are now, like lemmac said, hospitals already are hotspots. -
Hardly integral considering how basic it is. Both to build and to demolish.

I think you'll find that most of people here would like to see more of zeds and making them stronger. They aren't hard to sneak past but you must sneak past, which means not holding shift while you. And if you are close to them they are supposed to hear you. Same goes for bleeding since they don't kill you just knock you out.

What if I want to play the game and there is a queue of 30 people to join the same server ? Because now instead waiting 40 minutes I can just bite the bullet and spawn elsewhere but actually get to play the game with all my loot. If people have to choose between waiting for ages for 30 people to leave the server or to start back on the coats they'll probably go play something else. You have to balance the realism against discouraging people from playing this game.

Withing a month people would burn down 90% of the map just for laughs. Also servers would melt trying to process hundreds of burning buildings.

Steam has your email, not bohemia. This would require some system of ownership which I seriously doubt will ever get implemented. And what are you going to do when someone from a different time zone raids your base at stupid o'clock? Wake up at 3 am to an email "your base is being besieged" log in and defend you base while having an alarm for work in 4 hours ?

How to go about reporting these hackers?
General Zod replied to JayJayPee's topic in General Discussion
You don't this has been a problem and a source of discussion for ages and nothing has been done. -
Underage Player (8/9 years old), Admins won't remove them, is there a clause in terms of service that you must be a certain age?
General Zod replied to JohnWickSandwich's topic in General Discussion
Well you must be 18 to view the dayz on steam store, but if the admins won't do anything I don't see what else can you do. -
How long before you lost your humanity on dayz(SOLO PLAYERS)
General Zod replied to Matthew Bower's topic in General Discussion
I play for PvP and the server I play on now has a kill count so while previously I had very little inclination to let other live (it still happened few times) now I shoot everything that moves. I also often carry cooked human fat on me together with one or two normal steaks as a vengeance from the grave tool, the steaks make them feel safe. Still remember that one time when two unarmed players cornered me as I was freshly off the coast with no weapons myself and they punched me to death. Last thing I heard was their stomachs rumbling and my laugh knowing they'll eat the fat I had with and regret that later.- 1 reply

Moving dayz away from arma and really making it its own game
General Zod replied to Matthew Bower's topic in Suggestions
So I just did some google searching, and it turns out other players can't hear the bird noises you trigger while walking around. What sort of stupidity is this. -

I figured, it's a good idea, but considering potato like performance of the server and the sheer amount of gunfights in this game I'm not sure how that would affect performance. -
Yes, let's encourage more people to block off buildings with their bases, so they can not only screw up the loot economy even more by hoarding but also prevent others from finding that can of beans they desperately need. I'm generally against people building their bases indoors, but it's there and while I don't feel like it should be removed I also feel like if you want to hide what's in your base so much you should have to put the work in.
-
There were pens back in the old days, they were removed at some point. I think there was concern about server performance with a lot of notes lying around.

All castles are know for being base building spots so I wouldn't build there Kamenka and Stary Jar are towns that people will loot on their way to nearby military bases so they too aren't good choices. Saint roman is absolutely terrible, too close to edge of the map which is a very travelled path. It has multiple west located bases that a player will pass through on it's way there so they will have means of breaking walls and it's a landmark leading to tisy with good loot on it's own which means it's visited often.
-
Military base near stary sobor, a lot of people hit it on the way to the airport, plus it's located near two towns with good loot. The big red building is good for camping when the pop is low as people going to that base will feel safe. But it's not good on high pop server as the back of it is fully open and there will be someone camping for people camping in that building.

Game is becoming unplayable for console.
General Zod replied to MrBamboo's topic in General Discussion
It took the devs a better part of a decade to get this game to what still was a rushed release on PC. If I were you I'd arm myself with a lot of patience. -
I'm sure people will love even more encouragement for PvP, especially the kind that helps tracking solo players who try to stay out of it and only kill when necessary.

Yep, sniping would become pointless. Especially that gunshot wounds in DayZ are mostly inconsequential, as long as you don't get a fracture all you have to do is bandage over it and be back to fully functional in no time. In real life even by some miracle the bullet misses all the vital organs, arteries and nerves and leave a nice clean exit wound you'd need stitches which you'd have to be careful with few a while or tear them back out. If it missed all of the above and stayed in you'd have to get it out trying not to cause too much damage while doing it. After that it's antibiotics for at least a week so you don't get an infection. All of which is massively optimistic scenario based on a full metal jacket small calibre bullet that won't mushroom. Hunting rounds such as .308 are usually soft which they do mushroom and cause massive internal damage and exit would size of a adult mans fist. And if you wear ballistic vests that will stop the bullet from entering your body, the kinetic energy will break ribs and cause pulmonary edema which if not drained will result in you dying anyway. In DayZ conditions of complete lack of advanced medical care most gunshots would would be fatal, or leave you badly crippled for a long time. Even pea shooter like .22 lr to the upper body would be a massive problem. As small and weak as that bullet is, it's still perfectly capable or ruining any internal organ it hits.
-
That ten seconds would result in a lot of people pulling out a grenade and unpinning it to take the attacker with them. Also I think people who pass out from getting shot in real life do so due to blood loss.

Moving dayz away from arma and really making it its own game
General Zod replied to Matthew Bower's topic in Suggestions
Most door don't swing both ways and I don't see a reason why they should in game. Yes, there has been so many times when I saw infected ignore firefights that any player would consider dangerously close. They already make noise when a player passes nearby. I'm not sold on the journal idea, I highly doubt most players would devote time to sit down and start typing in game memoirs. And no one would go ahead and write down the paths they travel through because that's asking for someone to ambush you. Not that the map is so big to have many unused paths anyway, most people travel via the shortest and safest route possible, there isn't that much variation possible.
