Sure if the night time is not bound to real time, or people with jobs or school will not get to play during daytime. The gamma will never be fixed because it's not broken, it is in fact exploit but of a function that needs to be there, if you remove it and someone like me will have sun shining at the monitor the game will be unplayable even during day time. In this case all I can do is to crack up the gamma and brightness. -
20 km is not middle of nowhere. And yes In open space you might see something real close or big, in forest it is pitch black. Still the risk heavily outweigh the gains and that's on top of that in a scenario of fighting for survival you'd need a lot of sleep, at the end of the day from all the adrenaline and walking you'd fall asleep like a log. Forcing people do play night only because they have life for months has nothing to do with fair. It's simply giving the advantage to those who have nothing else to do. We had that once in DayZ and it was removed. It will kill the player base if you force people to play night time only.

First of Normally you sleep during night time, if it's night and there are clouds to cover the stars and the moon, without any artificial sources of light it's so dark you can't see your hand held right in front of your eyes. Which simply means it's impossible to be active without night vision goggles. Because you'd have to be stupid or desperate to walk around with flash light and attract every zed and killer from miles away. Second, real time on the servers is just unfair. Because this equal to one thing, people who have jobs or school will not be able to play daytime during winter / late autumn, because by the time they are back and had their dinner, attended to some important things / did shopping it will be long after the sun is gone. Sure if there is a compatible charger in the glove compartment. And if you find a working car, if it has spare Watts to charge the phone, and that's one big IF.

And should it be like you guys praise realistic, hard and gruesome ? Waiting weeks or months for you plants to grow ? Because right now we have apples, oranges, zucchini, bananas and berries. This will combined with canned fish cover all you mineral and vitamin needs. -
He said he's the one who dies.

You know what people do when they fresh spawn on the night server ? There are two options Leave Turn up gamma and brightness Using flash light is becoming a beacon for bullets.

Well if it's night time, and there are clouds to cover the stars and the moon, without any artificial sources of light it's so dark you can't see your hand held right in front of your eyes. So all you gamma exploit haters take that into account. Realistic night time = no playing. No sane person would wander during night unless they have night vision goggles or it's an absolute necessity. -

Realism ? There is more .380 auto ammunition in houses that there are knifes and can openers. I know it's pretty much russia but I don't even russians cut their food and open their cans with sub machine guns. -
That's not the point, you want a car that starts, has fuel, engine oil and air pressure in it's tyres to drive, mileage is of no importance, because you will run out of fuel 10 times over before mileage related problems can be of concern. Will run into blocked road, or simply get killed. Mileage is not important at all because you won't be using that car long enough.

Those buildings are pretty much in every bigger town, this particular screen was taken in novodmitrovsk. They are usually a part of a entire row of buildings. You will always be able to find them by double blue door and the three windows on top floor. http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarusplus on this map they are called houseblock_b

Don't know what rust is, nor do I care. Now your argument out of the window, I don't want simplistic gameplay, but I don't want a overly time consuming one either. I play SC2 which is all but simplistic, so I don't mind hard games, but I do mind games that take a lot of time for little gain. -

In real life yes, but currently, you need a shit tonne of calories to get energized Seems like we have two camps here, Camp we want easy things Camp we want to spent 10 hours a day in game surviving. They won't make it gruelling they won't make things take ages, because they won't make the game for that 10% of no life hardcore survival crowd. Simply because MAJORITY of people does not have time to a second life online. -

There is a difference between survival and needing 2000 calories in one meal to stop being hungry. Is that surprising ? That people have jobs, schools and lives and cannot spend insane amount of hours in game to cook food, patch clothes and pretty much have an entire live in game ? -

Pigeons are only easy to catch if they are domesticated or in big towns where they get used to humans. Large corn takes ages to cook and you don't want to eat a raw one. And eating raw potatoes is not the best idea either, they might give your stomach some problems, especially in higher quantities. -
They already fixed bag pack inception, but it seems other clothing can still be stored within same type of clothing. We also have magic quantum protector cases, takes 4 slots gives 6. If you guy manage to build something like that in real life, you will be insanely rich. And yes pack of ammo taking same space as a rag or a fishing hooks is stupid.

I am for making hunting more important and more difficult. But as for food from a garden, I don't think you can get very far on cucumbers, tomatoes and zucchini which will grow in a garden, sure they are better than nothing, but they are not high calorie. Potatoes will do nicely. -

Yes of course, but they need to be careful not to over do the hunger system, if food is to be scarce we cannot have the same calorie requirements that we have now. Most people will be full after eating two cans of spaghetti. Because needing 5+ cans of food to get energized will not go well with rare food. -

General Zod replied to Ham_Sandwich27's topic in General Discussion
Yes but they can't keep the current hunger system and significantly lower food loot. It's either hyper hunger and food that is not rare. Or More toned down hunger and rare food. Keep in mind that people will quickly quit the game if 90% of the time is spent on searching for food and water. Which with added stamina system that will reduce running distance will make this game simply boring. Because repetitive running for hours between the towns for food will get boring with time. There needs to be time to be a bandit, or a hero or a trader, those are the things that will keep this game populated. -

Hardly, the amount of food we need to consume to get energized is insane. It's like we are this 250 kg fat guy with a tape worm. -
Are we going to get dismemberment/gore?

What ? It doesn't matter if they feel cold, they would still die if their body temperature would drop sufficiently. The fact that they die from one axe hit is the best proof they are just humans.
