    Is that going to happen ? Just take a regular baseball bat and wrap it with barber wire, TWD fans know what I mean. Obviously the idea can be expanded to include nails, blades etc. Say we need a hammer for nails, and some other tools for blades and other add ons.
  3. Pros : Griefing 101 The amount of killing of the individual group members just to piss them off will sky rocket. I mean, I'm going to see a group of three, kill two and laugh my ass off. Now I play alone so it won't bother me.

    1. At the time being infected are still work in progress, they aren't mean to be danger yet. 2. ^ 3. They do that now, sort of, not that loud but they do. 4. I don't see the infected biting anyone, they aren't zombies. And yes infection will probably come at some point, like 2024 when we reach beta.

    This discussion was had here a lot of times but fine I'll bite. They don't want to punish / encourage any play style with morale system that affects players on gameplay level. Because I don't (and devs apparently too) like the concept of game enforced right or wrong. They want players to be nice because they feel like being nice not because the game rewards for being nice or punishes being a killer / bandit. Frankly a system like that would not even be realistic. People are fully capable of committing horrible things and not having their stamina / health affected, and yes a lot of people who wouldn't be cold killers in real life are like that in a game because it's just a game. But I'd rather see a different means of reducing killing in this game, because that is the only reason why we have people proposing morality systems. Right now this game is basically an FPS, and there is a reason for that. Not enough survival and too many guns. The game in it's current state does not offer much in terms of entertainment other than killing other players. People aren't going to spent time in game planting tomatoes or fishing, they will get bored, you can be fully military geared in hour or two depending on your luck, what's there to do after that ? Once you have a gun, clothes and food your struggle ends. Which is why I constantly get myself into fire fights, because those and trying to get new gear are the only times when this game has some sense of satisfaction to it. I want to see medical supplies be so rare that when I need them and I run into another person I talk to them instead of killing them out right out of fear that my bullets might damage something in his gear that I desperately need. That's how I want to end KoS, so that bandits are bandits not just murderers. And yes there still be people in this game who just kill, but when all of the above happens they will be the thrill of this game. You won't need the game punishing them anymore.

    @Radibor78 It's not just the military bases that have centralised loot. Towns have too, most building aren't spawning any good loot, there is too little randomness to where things can be.

    This still doesn't warrant making your character server exclusive, I may want to play with friends and few slots may not free up as fast. However server hopping is not that much of an issue to put up extreme limitations only to prevent it. What encourages server hopping is not gear transfer but centralised loot. This conversation was had before. Loot is centralised and that's why we can server hop. Because we know exactly where stuff is. So instead of forcing people to either play on the same server all time or make several characters (which by the way will make them less valuable, because you have spares.) we need to decentralise loot.

    @Radibor78 I'll respond in points to make my life easier. 1. I generally shoot people who have gear without thinking twice, but I had several successful trade. Don't shit where you eat. Also if the trading exists in the game via out of the game means it indicates that players want that and it's going to happen one way or another. 2 / 3. Yes you were clear enough, and I said that transferable gear is going to continue existing because no one will want to start from scratch when the server on which they already have gear will not be accessible for any reason. At some point to gear will be rare which means geared character will be valuable and people will not just accept not being able to play with said geared character. And I am not going to devote time to have 10 geared characters on different servers simply because you want to get rid of the server hopping and make loot spawn easier. Not every one has time anymore to be hardcore 100 hours a week gamer. And sorry to break this to you but games have to account for that. If that doesn't convince you that we have to agree to disagree.

    We had a live and thriving trade topic on previous forum, people had signatures with names of traders in them, both good and bad. But the forum went down and never recovered. Because the players inside of the game shoot everything that moves and don't ask questions. Also it's not exactly a survival game yet so we trade with each other for some extra entertainment. Public servers exists because some people enjoy playing and strange new server with strange new people rather than some white listed privileged servers where admins can enforce any rules they want and use the servers as loot farms. We need transferable gear because if / when the game becomes a actual survival game no one is going to enjoy having to start from scratch every time the server on which they have their gear is full or offline.

    I'd say it is, both low numbers and low thread of zeds is because it's alpha and they are work in progress.

    1. Zombies need a lot more more work before we can have a lot of them. 2. Harder yes, but they are only angry humans not undead. 3. Again way to bugged right now for that 4. Nope, not in a game where at some point (hopefully) ammunition and guns will be rare. 5. Nope, they are still human, not undead 6. Or they actually make it a survival game not a FPS Or in short It's still and always an alpha.

    Never built a base in all my gaming hours. I am the one who makes other combat log. I don't care for bases Meh, I won 5 v 1 fire fight in the tower in Novo. Gun shot near me will tell me where my victims are and that they are careless, loud. Wouldn't be much different from how I play now.

    2. Yes, playing with same people over and over again would ruin DayZ for me. 3. Friends yes, enemies well I don't know how should that work if they kill you, should you get a "memory wipe" ? As for the goals Too easy to survive to set time goal I hunt in real life. Had one, but we were a death squad How do I know they are bandits ?

    2. Most will not care / accept it. 3. But this is realistic, in real life when shit hits the fan, every new person you meet is a potential enemy. And let's be fair here, the main reasons behind rampant KoS and PvP (I'm repeating myself here) are : Ease of acquiring gear, it's not hard or time consuming to get geared Massive stockpile of guns and ammo No real struggle for survival And directly related to the first one, my character is expendable, because if I die two hours late tops I'm armed to the teeth again. So why not KoS and PvP ? Any and all anti PvP or ani KoS measures should be discussed and considered once proper survival is in the place. Not then I find 15 guns in one military base.

    You didn't take few things into the account here. They will know more or less how I look, but what I'm wearing something that cover all of my face ? Does your system still displays my name ? If it does it looses all of it's realism that you praise so much. Second, in order to tell anyone how I look and what I did they would have to actually meet other people and tell them and so on. Whereas since it's a game they can post screen shots or videos online thus spreading word about bad guys at an unrealistic rate which will act like surveillance system that cannot be avoided. This will make people who you never met hunt you down for things they should not know you did. This game is currently all behaviour friendly, it does not punish or reward for any play style, this is what neutral means, This is why the devs already said no to bandit hero mechanics. They don' want you to be able to approach someone with ease because the game overlay tells you it's ok to do so.
