General Zod replied to Baty Alquawen's topic in News & Announcements
All those years so many true fans have defended this early access project with admirable dedication. Every time someone tried to even hint that things will end this way they were there to defend the devs, and yet here we are. 1.0 version with no throwing. Forget complex survival mechanics we all hoped for. We don't even get to throw things at each other. I'm feeling ambivalent reading this thread. On one had I can't say I'm surprised that we are where we are, in fact I'm one of the people who said this is where we're headed for a long time. On the other I am kind of disappointed that I was right. -
Oh my, I'm two pages in and it's already a delight. Also glad to be back baby.

I've been gone from here for pretty much a year now. So glad to see not much changed (pun intended). People who complain have a point. The development process has been dead slow for a long time now. It took the game a year to go from 0.5x to 0.6x. Now for what it's worth, DayZ was a blast considering how little I paid for it and how much fun I had with it. Had. Because just like everyone on my steam friends list who played the game with me I gave up. I'm back here after such a long time and I see the same old user names defending the game I saw in 2015 on old forums. In fact the forums changed more than the game. The truth is most people had their fill with DayZ and moved on when they realised that they won't see the full release by Christmas 2020. When you gotta go you gotta go.

I think we should also adjust the amount of water that has to be consumed in order to get from thirsty to hydrated. Right now it can take 4+ full canteens, there is no way you can put this much water into your body in one go, not that you'd need to.

What would you do if you ran into two players at their own camp?
General Zod replied to yazar8's topic in General Discussion
What type of person you think I am ? I would go out of my way to get every item out of the tent, pile them up and then nade them just to see them flying everywhere. -

Kill them, take anything worth taking, nade the rest, leave. -
It's a public forum, you post here you demand comments. Some you may not like.
-
I see it happening, there is such high demand for this. Not going to happen
-
Oh I see what you did there, good one.
-
Half of what you produced you say, I wonder where he got that idea.

5000 hours... 5 fucking thousand on one game in two years. I'll show this thread to next person who tells me I spend too much time playing games. On a serious note, shame to see another regular go, I myself haven't played in quite a while. Although I only got 624 hours so far. Seems like both the downfall of the forums and the waiting time for the patches took (and still are) taking their toll on this game.
-
Go ahead show me the rich. Also spoiler alert, for a place like chernarus $100 is actually a lot. Let alone $3000.
-
The gaem is daed because we get patches every six months or less so there is a rush of players when we get one and once people get bored it gets empty, plus I've heard rumours that this patch is not as good as it should be, someone even used word rushed (funny). So come back in June / July and maybe you can play with others. I haven't played much dayz in a long time.

Any official opinion regarding a gamma exploit fix?
General Zod replied to exwoll's topic in General Discussion
Not in a country that still uses water pumps. -
For that you'd have to be able to knock them out for more than two seconds.
-
I can see it already Trump supporters : MAGA !!!11!! Hillary supporters : The election was rigged by Russians !1!!11!! End up killing each other. On a serious note, can we keep politics and other real life conflicts out of the game ? Aren't they supposed to be a break from the mad real world ?

Could mushrooms possibly share the same dynamic system with apples?
General Zod replied to ZomboCZ's topic in General Discussion
Can we get trippy mushrooms ? -
A big wall you say ?
-
No I though we were going for some degree of realism. I see no reason why falling would ruin my trousers or shes. Skipping the part where 3 metre fall in this game can kill whereas in real life I can land that without even breaking my legs.
-
I somehow don't think so, not that the 1000 time folded nippon steel is the best in the world. But a functional sword made of good quality steel would be expensive, charnarus is poor so it's unlikely there will be a katana collector.

So make it extremely rare. Thermal vision costs a lot of money, if you live in Chernarus is costs a fortune so it won't be standard issue. Hell go a bit further, make it powered by a different also rare type of battery. -
Hey that's my line!
-
But you don't one thing, you eat canned bacon, you eat canned fish, you eat canned / fresh fruit and vegetables. Sure the DayZ diet isn't as diverse as the one we are used to. But it's diverse enough to keep you going.

I said people don't crank up gamma only to KoS, some do some don't. I don't even currently play DayZ so neither. So the only BS is the star navigation. And yes we need gamma adjustment, and yes it can be exploited, just like reducing draw distance can remove bushes and expose a player who would be hidden otherwise. There is a tonne of things that can be exploited. That doesn't warrant removing those things or running some intrusive software to keep us playing nicely. And it's a trend with people here, add some means to prevent TS by either scanning my PC for TS process or always on microphone. Add penalties for those who don't want hero. Etc etc.
