Someone found them, there is a patch of dirt on top giving away their position and if someone gets close enough they'll see it.

Hi I think guns and suppressors go from worn to damaged too quickly. They stay pristine for ages but once worn appears you're using a gun cleaning kit on a KA every 40 rounds. Yes I know the wear and tear of items must be accelerated for the sake of game play just like hunger and thirst are, if I have a freshly cleaned KA to a worn status it will go to badly damaged in less than two mags and I think it's a bit excessive for military firearms. And while wear of items should accelerate with each state since using a damaged item will damage it further / faster but there is a too sharp of a drop from pristine longevity to worn longevity. Also how much of the kit is used up should depend on the size of what I'm cleaning. It makes no sense that cleaning a supresor uses as much of the kit as cleaning an assault rifle. Things like cleaning kits, sharpening stones or sewing kits should have a percentage that goes down accordingly. Say 10% for a supresor, 15% for a pistol, 20% for SMG and 25% for rifles. Like wise for things like gloves, shirts, jackets and backpacks, repairing gloves uses the same amount of the kit as repairing a field backpack despite that one is a small fraction of the other one in terms of size. This should be easy enough to implement.

Movement physics are so bad that when you run out of a train cargo carriage you hoover in the air for couple seconds like it's looney tunes where you don't start to fall until you look down.

Can't you do that with raincoats ?

There isn't that much variation available, especially that all late game gear is either hunting or military so you're all some variation of cammo. In real life there a lot of ways you can tell people you know from people you don't even by the way they walk if you know them well enough and that's when face covering is involved. In DayZ there is no way to tell who's who until they identify themselves. I don't know why spray paint was removed. We need in back and it a wide variety of colours.
-
I just looted Kamensk base in broad daylight with just a knife with zero aggro from zeds. Shanked the ones in my way in the back, ignored the rest. It's even easier at nigh sice you can just walk right in front of them and they won't see you. Bonus points for having a monitor which lets adjust gamma setting to make night bright as day (I'm ready to be judged).

Good, you should struggle to loot military zones.

We need spray paint back and in a bigger variety of colours

Name a server and a location that that can be arranged, I have a Tundra.

They have be a threat somehow, they deal very little health damage, they are easy to kill and avoid. Even if they knock you out they don't hang around to batter you more when you wake back up. If they did more health and shock damage putting on protective gear would make fighting even a bigger group of them quite easy. Now there's as element of urgency when they make you bleed. You have to disengage and tend to your wounds or you die.

So that admins can cater to themselves and conjure a toxic zone on demand so they can loot in peace ? This game is very easy at it is. We should be making it harder not easier. The only gear that is restricted by toxic zones is high end military gear so only thing it affects is pvp.

Nah, permanent zones are a great addition and collective full NBC to explore them gives players a quest. You can't change into NBC at a moments notice due to storage space limitation. We should keep the permanent zones and make random can be dropped on any town with a warning via walkie talkie.

There's no way I can know.

Dayz needs a stun gun, let’s talk about it
General Zod replied to Gostar28legacy's topic in General Discussion
This. I already carry an AK, Tundra, UMP and a pistol. There is no way I'm going to make room for a full size gun for it to act as a stun gun. -
Contact battleye directly, no one here can overturn your ban.

Dayz needs a stun gun, let’s talk about it
General Zod replied to Gostar28legacy's topic in General Discussion
We do need a stun gun, it would actually help with kos. If me and my mates run into a newbie with a baseball bat no one is going to bother shooting to disable only to have to waste our bandage on him and sure as shit I'm not throwing hands with him, which means we're shooting to kill. But if I could taser him and tie his hands while he's out we might actually torment him a bit and let him go. So yes we definitely should introduce non lethal projectile weapons, taser and even tranq dart gun would be a great addition. Imagine a tranq dart gun, you hear a faint shot like the mk2 does, your character does a quite groan but you have no health loss or bleeding, you decide to get out of there only to notice your vision going a bit blurry, your character slows down and starts to wobble, boom you're unconscious, not long later you wake up tied up. We could even make the adrenaline injection counter act the tranquilliser so if you acted fast you could prevent it knocking you out. -
Cheaters? Why i'm with my friend die instantly when ran into the school in Novaya Petrovka?
General Zod replied to Comrade's topic in General Discussion
Your character groans when you walk through a tripe wire and you can hear the explosion before you see the "you are dead screen" so you have enough time to say 'for fucks sake' before it all goes dark. I set up a flashbang one near someone base in a building just to scare him. Came back few days later and w1alked into my own trap, good thing it was only flashbang. Mines on the other hand are somehow non lethal, which is good because some sick bastard set few up around the christmass tree in zelono so I had crawl for 10 minutes with a broken leg to find a bush to make a splint. But yes there are hackers here who will kill you in and your friends in seconds without any sign of their presence. And you will lose all your precious gear. Pucker up and hitch your tits because the only thing you can do is get new gear. Me and my mate just got executed by cheaters after scoring 2 vss and an akm from toxic zone. Logged in in the middle of a forest in a pitch dark night, you are dead 2 seconds later. I'm moving to community pvp server. -
Mounting scopes on guns that don't have rail would be a tall order. You could in theory weld a rain on a gun, which in real life would require a considerable level of expertise not only not to damage the gun itself but also to put the rail level but I think we can overlook that in the game. But it's not a bad call, we already have power generators in game, if welders were added. Welders could also be used on base building to make more resilient structures. Quit frankly any addition to the game to give people some goal work towards other than PvP would be a welcomed one. And that's coming from a person who actually enjoys pvp.

I doubt we'll get a whole new mechanics of guns getting dirty, which then with continuous use would progress into guns getting damaged. In theory the workshop in military bases could serve as a gun repair point, but that would require parts or some other consumable to make it work. And it's a big ask from devs who's solution to food being too abundant is to dial up energy consumption like you have a 10 foot tapeworm in you instead of making food more scarce and hunting more difficult.
-
I think it should be the other way around, they aren't supposed to be a minor inconvenience but an actual threat. Especially in military bases, high risk high reward.
-
Yes on all 3, even though I doubt the wind dispersing will ever happen
-
I had a quite a big group of people I played with in the alpha days, only 3 of us still play, myself included.

I don't agree with implementing any form of debilitating symptoms from killing, we shouldn't try to discourage people from killing by making their screen flash. We should give them something else to do with their time in game, and currently there isn't much. Partially because because even if you build a base or repair a car there's a limited amount of entertainment you'll get out of that. Map isn't huge either, you can effortlessly cross it couple hours and towns don't differ so much that's it's worth sight seeing. In real life that fight for survival would be your every day life, you wouldn't log in for few hours to entertain yourself and log off and go raid your fridge and watch tv. Most people will need more interesting things to do than fishing and growing crops. And since once you gear up the survival is so easy that the most exciting thing is facing another player. Here's couple ideas of the top of my head. Make ammo more scarce, a lot more scarce A lot more infected the further in land you go More aggressive infected, as in they keep their aggro longer, so that even if I hide in a building they don't give up 30 seconds after loosing track of me Make hunting harder, you can walk up to the game way too close before it reacts to you. And this one won't happen but a bigger map with more interesting places to visit.

According that graph, the game has less than 500 active players more than it did when it was released as alpha. Which means either not many copies sold since then or a lot of people left and never came back.

There is no way to get rid of voip outside of the game. You can't just have battle eye see every software with voip as cheating because steam itself can do that, there are also online chat rooms and so you'd have to filter browsers out too. You can't enforce always on mic either, some people share the room where the pc is. If people don't want to talk in game they won't and they will find a way to talk outside of the game. Rare ammo would be start, if I can find 100 rounds on a single visit to military base there is no reason not be trigger happy. But at the end of the day people who want a less murderous experience will probably have to band together on a move pve focused servers.
