In practice, I have no problem landing a headshot with a decked out MP M4 + Acog at 200 meters. Is it easier or harder to do with a PSO AKM?
-
I was thinking of dumping my M4 for an AKM if it still has next to zero dispersion, for obvious reasons. Anyone can confirm this?

Why I kill other players (outsided of defense/necesity):
infiltrator replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
I kill people for the thrill of the hunt as well. It's not about killing, the feeling of superiority while you have their life in your hands but pick the exact moment you take it is quite gratifying. This goes especially when I kill people who never see it coming.. those who least expect to see the "you are dead" screen in the next second, you can tell by the carelessness they exhibit easily. One could say I'm training them to be more challenging prey. -
It accepts any RIS attachment.

When you find the new mp5 try to control your self
infiltrator replied to meat pie's topic in General Discussion
There's 15 and 30 round mags. I think 30 should be enough.. -
How accurate is the gun anyway?

God help you if you need a youtube tutorial on what zeroing does.

When you find the new mp5 try to control your self
infiltrator replied to meat pie's topic in General Discussion
Well, considering the guy never fired a gun before and obviously sucks at aiming, isn't it a little biased to base the guns performance on that? -
What do you mean? There were tons of videos in the latest experimental documenting the gun's performance..

Is the mp5k now on stable?

Why are there basically no 3pp:off servers - grow a pair.
infiltrator replied to dubghall's topic in General Discussion
I hope one day BE will grow a pair and remove 3PP. There's no point in segregating the community, and 3rd person view adds nothing to gameplay other than a crotch some people desperately want to hold onto. -
In medieval japan ninjas often left their shouriken tips in animal feces so they would rust and be able to transmit tetanus reliably. Poop tipped arrows aren't far off ;)

Everything that's wrong with DayZ servers in one picture.
infiltrator replied to FrostDMG's topic in General Discussion
It's not as simple as that. Dayz is currently profitable and will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future - the thing is, what kind of profit does bohemia have in mind? Based on how many hours they expect to hold the average player, the features they add can change drastically. What about customer loyalty? Do they want to stay true to the mod, if so, how much? Having the word-of-mouth marketing is a powerful tool but one difficult to measure. It alone can make or break a game but no one can say for sure because you can't track it. Take dota 2 for example. I was an avid player of dota 1 for years (a warcraft 3 mod). When they announced dota 2, I was a bit skeptic, but then again, it was valve and not ea/activision so you could say I was cautiously optimistic as well. Imagine my face when I learned they hired the guy who brought dota 1 to the renaissance (in laymans terms) and they were making the game a 1:1 of the mod in terms of balance BUT with features that would add, while at the same time not dumb down the gameplay (such as reconnection, facilitated purchasing of items, proper keybind support, more ways to interact with your team etc.). The mod still goes on and keeps up with the dota 2 balance changes (same guy does both, though wc3 engine limitations are an obstruction). Best thing is, dota 2 does not cater to anyone but the highest denominator - unlike other "blockbuster" games which cater to the lowest (BF, CoD etc.). It punches you in the face, breaks your legs, feeds you rotten apples, and leaves you restrained in the middle of the woods where no zombies can kill you. And this game is one of the most profitable ones ever made.. while being completely FREE. Not pay to win - you can't buy heroes, skills, sidegrades, items or anything, ONLY cosmetics, which you can trade with other players and get for free by random luck anyway. A player just starting has the same strategical options as someone who's been playing since beta. Just in a few months, a yearly tournament hosted by valve is about to take place, and the prizepool is donated in large part by the playerbase. Currently it's over 9 million dollars. Here's a bit of perspective back from a week or so ago when it was 6m. The point of this all? The game doesn't have to be dumbed down, cater-to-all, in order to be a successful business model. The game can be incredibly uforgiving and attract a huge playerbase nonetheless, even if it's not a spectator e-sport .. the differences in business models make up for it, dota 2 was made from the ground-up to be a long-term investment, whereas dayz won't have nearly enough of a profit but boomed from the very start and will continue to do so based on the stages of development, steadily. -
If H1Z1 will have squads and clans at early access why ...
infiltrator replied to Demonio (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Fuck blood, give us a health meter! -
I don't think going with fists against barricades should be an option, but melee weapons, sure. Some of them should be more effective than others, to the point where going berserk on a door with certain ones should ruin them in the process.

infiltrator replied to Demonio (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I think we both know those are there to facilitate testing without vehicles. Loot is again far from anything final, and is easily adjusted - the priority is seeing if the loot offered behaves properly, which is, again, facilitated by having it spawn amply. -
Did you make the my docs/dayz folder or .cfg read only?

I agree, and it's imperative that the indentification comes excluslively from items that you physically wear, no interface, tags or some other bullshit should ever be there to hold your hands regarding friendlies. -
Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion
infiltrator replied to stielhandgranate's topic in General Discussion
Let me get this straight, you're STILL trying to argue it's not a fair comparison to put DayZ besides arma, when it's STILL using the same engine and assets from that game, STILL using similar combat/movement mechanics (for better or for worse), STILL being developed by the same studio, and STILL striving to be faithful to the mod while expanding on that experience? Those are some hardcore mental gymnastics you have to go through to convince yourself into that. -
Degrading names are typically the funniest ones to me, I saw a guy named Hugh G. Rection just the other day.
-
I don't know about that. It may promote more viable gameplay but getting decked out fast will still be more efficient if you clean one place out and hop to another server.. or if you do what I do now, which is wait for hoppers and kill them.
-
When I first started off I was greeted by an experienced player who guided me briefly. It was very helpful. "New" freshspawns can be identified by various indications, as was I apparently: 1. they enter houses which have no chance of spawning anything (decent). 2. they don't sprint 3. they stare at coastal town signs

I'm inclined to believe the opposite, The base spread of an M4 is absolutely, positively atrocious, even compared to arcade shooters like BF. A goddamn musket would be more reliable. I would find it believable if the base spread of the AKM was 0.008 and the M4 had it at 0.01. Sway would need to be worked on for both to adjust for this, of course.

But it's strange how it coincides with the sway most other weapons lack.. if I was balancing the game, I'd reduce dispersion to a minumum and up the sway on everything based on stance.
