It still has the GL sights in-game. And apparently no holes like said (I didn't bother to check on my own). Really who knows.. maybe they intended it to have a grenade.. I mean, if not, why purposely make a yugo model and even annouce it as one. The SKS is definitely attachment starved as well.. not even a bigger mag.

Being nice doesn't mean exposing yourself like that. Here's an example of being nice. I was shooting loot hoppers as usual today, and one guy had really crap gear, but since i haven't killed anyone in like an hour, I decided to shoot him anyway. He lived of course, as I was using an M4. So he starts yelling ceasefire, ceasefire.. and I'm like alright, I bandage him, give him 2 sacks of rice and tell him not to hop. That's nice in chernarus, shoot first, and maybe show mercy later.

Shot a guy on sight, he woke up, said "ceasefire, ceasefire". I went to him, bandaged him, gave him some food, and told him to stop server hopping. Some bandit I am.

Well I am a Yugoslav myself so lets not pretend you american know more about weapons I have been familiarized with personally with shall we? But nice try to be a badass know-it-all though "buddy".

M4 has loads of attachments already.. just because you've just found this out doesn't mean what you're familiar with makes more sense. Nah, doubt it. The differences are minimal to the point where you didn't need specific models to make either of them reliably (source: I'm a 3d modeler).

Of course, but the question is why would they specifically go for the yugoslav design if they did not plan on utilizing it?

I think the main attraction of server hoppers a low-pop servers that have just restarted, and proximity to high-yield areas. Of course, freshly restarted servers won't matter when loot starts to respawn so we have to take that card out. Now we're left with low-pop servers and logging off in high-yield areas. I think altering the timer to be a formula that includes server population should work in our favor. There should, for example, be no a very light penalty for quickly swapping to a 60/80 server. These servers are tyically a death sentence for loot hoppers anyway. However, if he'd try to go for a 0/40 server, the time required to join would double (just throwing figures here). Not sure if this is the right way to go but it might alleviate the issue further. -
True if you don't have both pristine MP attachments. Otherwise, Acog is better.

What, do you want me to repeat myself now, you just gotta scroll up, give it a try. There doesn't have to be an exit wound from the head bro. Especially if you have a helmet. Smaller calibers also don't have exit wounds to the head even without any protection. Also, even if there is an exit wound it certainly won't spray the body but project itself according to the bullet trajectory. I'm not a "bandit", though I KoS a lot. And a lot of times I don't even search the body.. which is beside the point, a bad idea doesn't have upsides, so discussing downsides is moot. -
It does reflect what kind of person you are when you interact with other people, especially given this kind of context.

No chance, this isn't battlefield with everyone being spec ops ninja l337 death angel with mega lazors and handgrip of accuracy +3. Both Civilian but proven AND military weapons make dayz what it is.

Server hoppers serve two purposes though: 1. Devs have to make changes to the game so it doesn't accomodate for such behavior. Their persistence means that their job is not yet done with the 5 min timer, which is good. 2. They feed me weapons, ammunition, food and clothes. Every time I kill them, I approach their body and whisper how sad it is they had to server hop into my sights.. I honestly think they're just power hungry but they don't need to do a morally unjust thing to do it. You may look at it like a morally unjust thing from an exploiters point of view but then again this is alpha and now is the time to do it so it doesn't happen later. On the other hand, what this guy did.. pfff, like I said, I've killed so many times, but never a guy that was good to me.

There is no immersion in getting blood soaked hands after you go through a body. Also, what if a friendly guy gets shot, but manages to overcome his assaliant? Oh oh, better not loot his body, or I might get marked as a bandit. The idea has so many flaws and misinterpretations.. -
PU has 3.5x. Currently the entire viewport zooms to 1.39x.

That's not the gun currently in the game, this one, the M59/66 is: Being an Ex-yugoslav myself, I'm very glad that bethesda added our own variation of the SKS to the game instead of the stock russian one. The difference is the muzzle, which is shaped like that because it can launch grenades as well (yea I guess we're crazy). So yes that means that the SKS will probably be able to lob grenades at some point.

Well, at first it sounded off like a bullet, now like an arrow, I guess next patch it will sound like a rock if we're moving down the chain :P

I think the point is pretty clear either way (I don't have an SKS atm), I took the first shot myself, because it illustrates best how the concrete bars look the same.

Not again.. what is it with people absolutely needing to identify "bandits"? And what about KoS guys that just shoot people and never loot them? I guess their hands are clear, alright, let me just put down my SKS... You are dead. Furthermore, this idea makes absolutely no sense even if tevery "bandit" went through the bodies. What makes you think every dead body is blood-soaked? If someone headshot a guy, chances are, there's no blood covering the rest of his pickets. Part of the charm of Dayz is that you just can't tell who you're running into, yet people feel the need to put boundaries around themselves. -
That's not why I keep detergent, rotten fruit, handcuffs and a hacksaw in my inventory :D Though I only do this to people that attack me first, when I am the assailant I give them a quick death.

Have this character for about a week now. Going into one of the AF buildings is asking for trouble. Patiently waiting on the outskirts on the other hand brings great rewards. I've sniped so many server hoppers it's not even funny. When the coast is clear, I just loot the bodies. I've thrown my mosin (but kept the pristine LRS/compensator/bipod) and took an M4 with all pristine parts but one, I luckily had exactly what it lacked, a pristine magpul handguard I kept from one of the bodies. Decided to give it a try. It's not bad so far, though I hate it how the amount of bullets required for a kill typically don't leave anything useful to pick from the guy. Also, 8/10 times, the guy you just M4'd to death isn't dead. That does however open the door to torture and humiliation.
