If you haven't revealed your position previously, and you're not in the middle of a road, CONSIDERING you logged in an area that is heavily populated (not smart at all), someone will have a hard time finding you in 30 seconds even if they hear you (the radius should be small). -
Oh yea, this guy that I just sniped off in NEAF had it all - fully decked out M4, pristine LRS scope, ~700 M4 bullet ammo box, not including 4x60 mags, FNX with attachments and mags, full medical lab on him, all sorts of attachments in the small protector, full TTSKO (lost mine in recent gunfight, thanks!).. the only thing that I couldn't pick off of you was the ballistic helmet, sadly it didn't protect you this time from the headshot (you were dead when I got to you). Anyway, thanks, I'll keep this safe for you man! I'd say don't server hop any more but who am I kidding right?

Is it a known issue that pants get ruined for no apparent reason? I didn't fall, get shot, get hit by zombies, but for some reason, my pants get ruined. At first I thought I was forgetting about getting into incidents but then I started monitoring it and I definitely did NOT get hit/shot/fell a couple of times, and my pants somehow got ruined in the process.

TTSKO is useless in the city, not to mention ghillie suits (when they introduce them). Ghillie suits will have amazing concealment in woodland areas but I'm pretty sure they won't have much compartments in them like a TTSKO + tacvest combo does. Civilan clothes will, eventually, offer protection from cold and wetness.

I don't care what it is in all honesty, as long as there's something to indicate it, right now any defensive position is a safe zone for combat logging, 30 seconds alone don't make up for it, if you know someone's holed up you can't take your chances and just "hope" he logged or not, meanwhile the guy who is running with his tail between his legs gets the luxury of either picking to stay or moving on as he pleases. -
Well some people liked it, and commented favorably, so I guess it is at least interesting to some extent. If you don't want to read about it there's nobody making you do it.

You should reconsider what impersonating a mod is worth. Couldn't be more wrong, at least 10 daily considering I'm solo. But this guy is my best catch so I was hoping he's a lurker here perhaps.

Me neither, haha, but I thought I was done for when I saw an entire medical lab in his inventory - this is a tale tell sign of a soclial guy as I can't see him using half of this stuff on himself. Luckily I managed to get out after I looted and hid the body :)

Yea should have taken screenie, but I get unnerved when I'm looting a dead unicorn in the middle of the prison building :D This guy was meticulous though, everything on him was pristine, even the frikin food man!

Obviously sarcastic yeah.. and this is really easy to fix.. just grab one of the ground poly vertices and move it up a bit on the z axis.. there.. done.. you're welcome guys. -

Are you by chance trolling, if so you're doing a very good job, consider me trolled. Otherwise, you have a really bad memory for someone who says they never combat logged. Hearing someone in the middle of the woods logging in seems far unlikely to me, and if it indeed was the case, what of it, chances are, someone who logged in did so in a bush or tree, not in the open where they can be seen. If sound cues are not the needed thing, then please, by all means, make your own suggestion instead of defending cowardly gameplay. -

Holy shit man, the game isn't make for those who want it easy or the weak, yet you suggest something that helps people that combat log, can you be more hypocritical please? And for the last time, there is no tension in having a guy magically teleport out of combat, none at all. Highlighted important bits in comic sans, since it's appropriate here. And about logging off, if you log out in places where people usually hang out, you deserve to get shot, that's it. People who log out in a safe place won't be affected by this at all, all you seem to be implying here is to protect your scared sorry ass when you run off to a building and log out. -

I do but that was funny anyway, fits their character. I've been shot and sat in buildings for a good 30 minutes waiting for someone to come, only to find out people on the OUTSIDE logged.. -

Pffff, taking away a great part of game, are you kidding me? What's great about a guy silently teleporting to safety? If he's logging off I want to have a way of knowing it, otherwise it's on the aggressor to take a gamble, which is NEVER a good design decision - if you're tailing it, you aren't risking anything if you are behind a corner, whereas the attacker has to either walk in and be in a disadvantaged position if you aren't logging. No I didn't shoot you at NWAF. -

I only kill freshies if I haven't killed anyone in hours and even then I typically just try to snipe them from 700+ meters, they have no protection so they are bad practice material anyway. However I enjoy killing fully geared guys, especially those who invested a lot of time in their characters. -

I just noticed that in the experimental patch, weather is, like said, set up to work server-side rather than client, but then my friends and I figured that it starts/stops to rain on the entire server instantly. Is this intended or do they plan to make rain such as a Huge AoE accross the map, again server side, that moves and pours down on areas instead being an on/off button for the entire server?

Tips for better situational awareness?

IMHO having situational awareness is two fold. One side is innate, and is most helpful when you are already engaged - you can predict what poeple will do, and where they will show up next. The other part comes with experience, and that one will help you spot taletell signs of ambushes and prevent you from walking into a trap. For example, you are at the airport jail. You see a zombie in front of it and the door closed. All clear right? Wrong. That place is looted, and a guy might be inside. The zombie has his back turned on the entrance, meaning he can be sneaked by, and you can see that the jail door on the inside has been opened through the cell window by the door. That's a deathtrap packed to look like an unlooted area. I should know because thats what I do primarely. In fact thats a poorly set up trap, but most people leave the doors open anyway let alone bother to set tthe scene for loot bait. Some do, though, and having the awareness to stop and say 'something isnt right here' will save you many a times.. -
Basically, most of you know about it. Grass can be great cover, provided the enemy has high enough gfx complexity and is close to you. Otherwise it's useless, that tall grass you're crawling through? The sniper at 200+ meters doesn't see it. Is there any game that actually made such mechanic properly?
