So I was sitting at the end of the pier in Balota, just taking in the sea air when suddenly I hear something. Is that...? My I do believe it is! Wipeout by the Surfaris, and it's getting closer. Then suddenly someone jumps past me and dives into the water, the iconic surf song blaring over VOIP. I couldn't help but laugh as he swam back and forth for the duration of the song, Then he swims back to shore. Moments later I hear more music, he's back, this time he's playing some heavy metal music and the lyrics go "Three... Two... One... You are dead." At which point he shoots me in the head. I have to say, that is one of my most memorable deaths ever.

So in my most recent spawn, after gathering some basic supplies from a coastal town (and getting chased by a pair of new spawns. Seriously, is there no honor among bambies? We should be working together not beating each other to death in the streets.) I ran directly inland, ignoring the roads and stumbled upon an isolated little town. It was just 5 or 6 houses surrounded by woodland with no roads connecting it directly to the coast. I'm not going to say it's name because I don't want to log in to find myself surrounded by bandits. Anyway, it's got a water pump and food spawns, and it's so out of the way that the only way to find it would be to literally go stumbling blind through the forest and trip over it by accident (like I did). I only encountered two Zeds, both pretty spread out which made them easy to deal with. So yeah. I think I found my new home. Water, food, shelter and once you get the ability to build barricades, I can turn it into my own little Fortress of Safetetude.

Mosins seem to spawn heavily in industrial areas, for some reason. Scopes can be found in Airfield Control Towers or in the abandoned military camp outside Balota. 7.62 Ammo can be found in any Military loot spawn. The Mosin can hold five 7.62 rounds at a time and doesn't require a magazine (you can also chamber individual rounds, though i haven't found much use for that). What this means is that you can take loose bullets you find on the ground and put them to immediate use, but you have to open your inventory and manually load the next five rounds rather than just pressing the reload button. Personally, with all it's attachments and the ease at which you can find ammo for it, I prefer the M4A1. With a pristine ACOG scope and a bipod, it can be fired with decent mid-long range accuracy. High rate of fire and a sceady hand on the mouse will give you almost semi-auto sniper fire and if your enemy survives to run into mid-close range, you can go full auto and turn him into bullet riddled raspberry jam. Fast reload, with multiple magazines is another reason that the M4A1 is, in my opinion, superior to the Mosin at most ranges. The only time the Mosin outstrips the M4 is at really long range, and unless you are set up in a sniper position where you can't be snuck up on, That's not much of an advantage,

Got held up by a lone bandit and managed to engage him in a conversation. Eventually I was like "Hey i'm sick of scavenging and getting killed, why don't the two of us team up for some banditry?" And he agreed. After working together to safely scavenge up some weapons at Balota Airstrip, we go Bambi hunting, him with an M4A1 and me with a scoped Mosin. So we find some poor Bambi looting the dock near Komarovo and my new bandit "friend" goes to say hello while I say I'll cover him from a distance. He goes up to the Bambi, weapon raised and the bambi surrenders. Thats when I put a round through my "friend's" dome and left the M4 and all his other gear for the Bambi.

You have no idea. The feeling when I stumbled upon that gun... It was as if i was drowning and, just as I was about to give up hope and let the sea take me, someone threw me a life line.

Weapon flashlight can only be attached to an M4A1 with a RIS Handguard so far. Maybe you'll be able to attach it to more weapons later on. It does say, in the description, that it can be attached to multiple weapons, so that might be a planned feature.
