I want to make screenshots of me cooking dinner for friends at those fake tents. Not much else to do, Im fully geared. And Ill keep it for next hunting/cooking update.

yep ninja, you are right. Once private hives are functional there wont be server hoping. Loot will be more balanced, new areas on map will bring new style of playing. Its still alpha so all gear is availble for testing purposes, and devs want you to get it all and fast. Military locations should have more zeds, so you realy feel good when you fight 50+ zeds with double barell and Makarov to get any good gear. Also there realy should be heli crash sites, revording with unique top-end gear. When I played mod in first week I only found Enfields (which Id like in SA, along with Mausers and other WW2 stuff) and Winchesters. First trips to NWAF were total failures. I got my first AK74 from a friend after 10 days of playing. To make story short, you should work wery hard for good weapons and gear. In meantime its all shotguns, axes, and bolt-actions.

They were "dinner bells" in mod and it should be same in SA. Its some sort of balancing, so not everybody will camp and snipe players.

Im from Croatia, and I can say that Croatian armed forces use G36K in mission in Afganistan. They also use small quantities of Croatian made assoult rifle VHS ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VHS_assault_rifle ). Majority of weapons in army are still AKM patern assoult rifles from different origins.

Id rather have good old clasic FAL, it has nice peep iron sights that were one of best in mod (for me). Combination with PSO-1 sight (I know its not realistic, but hey, its only a game) would be great. On other hand, battle rifles are noisy, and they would atract every zombie in 500m radius so it will make them dangerous for user as well, and that is good for balance.

I stay with FN FAL, that Id like to see SA. I would only configure it with bipod and mybe bayonet. Not sure about scopes, maybe one in server. I liked FALs sights, once I exterminated 50+ zeds in Takistan from 200-300 meters, hill to hill. Does Lee Enfield count as battle rifle? Its old enough to find its way to Chernarus in surplus. SVT 40 would be cool too, plenty of ammo and scopes in game now.

why put LRS on weapon accurate to 400m max (m4, AK) or 150m (sporter 22)? PU and ACOG shold be enough (once they have RL magnification of 3.5x and 4x)

LRS should go only on battle rifles with 7,62x51 or 7,62x54R rounds, or hunting rifles like Blaze (supose to use different ammo) or some day CZ550

If there was no western presence in Chernarus, what are all the wrecked Humwees doing everywhere? Western weapons should be more rare and found at places like that. Or maybe when there are heli crash sites. Maybe there were private military companies sent to steal/rescue/extract someone and got infected and they left behind HK G36s, M16, L85A2, MP5, Glock... (and SUVs in mod). American weapons were left behind after operation Red harvest. Id like more rare weapons, even with same caracteristics, so it makes you to go around map and explore and search for them. I hope they make all AK variants from mod. If you like only M4/M16, find it and stick to it.

If they wont do it, modders will.

No I wont be, its my style of playing. Exploring for new locations and new items. Once the wehicles are here, I will try to colect them all.

If nothing else I will play untill I find and try out all of them

because FNX will be rare and 1911 more common (I hope)

off topic: how I imagine weapon spawn in future: 1. Mosins, shotguns at farm buildings 2. Pistols, hunting rifles in houses and new log taverns. 3. Pistols, SMGs in police stations and fire houses 4. AKs, SVDs in military buildings, airfields, barracs 5. Western weapons in heli crash sites, maybe in hidden base (nort of newest village in NW), crashed Humwees, maybe they add crashed C-130

@ Etherimp, we disagree. Id like more weapons, maybe 50 different models with aditional atachments. So not everybody has same gear. Same with clothes and backpacks. Im tired of dosens of same dresed cammo kids with same M4s.

M14 DMR has completly different stock (cheek rest, pistol grip, picantily rails), but I wont argue you for that. Any weapon can be modded to look like something else. In game there should be difference between old M14 (no rails, atachs hunting scope - lower accuracy) and allmighty DMR (LRS - zeroable, very accurate). Rest of battle rifles shouldnt be accurate as DMR, so when you find it you are most powerfull man on server. Imagine you find FAL and Hunting scope in woods, how long it would take you to atach scope and adjust it to shoot at target.

DMR is best weapon in mod. Id like it in SA, but very rare to get. And even more rare optics for it. Id like more FALs on other hand, and maybe G3. M14 would be fine also. But ataching optics on non-sniper battle rifle should resoult in less accurate weapon. DMR has rails for optics, FAL, M14, G3 have not. I think there should be all weapons from mod in SA (minus .50 cal and thermal), but very rare. Maybe on or two DMRs on server with 80-100 players, maybe one PKT or 3-4 RPK 74s per server. Most common weapons should be Mosins (not accurate as now, it is massly produced weapon for even massely killed in action infatry), shotguns, maybe SKS. The more powerfull weapon is it should more rare.

There should be option to trow raw meat or blood bags at players, that would make zombies crazy and extra aggresive... There are scripts in dayz mod to craft zombie bates and exploding zombie bates (meat + granade), I didnt try them all but it sounds better than KoS. There was also zombie emiter on Namalsk mod, emiter killed zombies in cicrle of 10 meters around it.

some weapons are in game early for atachment system. There arent many atachments for AKM, GP-25 and optics... There is tons of shit for M4 though

"Map: New villages surrounding Svetlo" ??? What new villages?? Nothing on map! Do they mean Chernaya Polana town ?? Or Olsha?? Olsha was there before.
