    Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

    They're augmenting vision in a pretty major way without clearly informing the player that its happening. They are providing clear sight of an area and then removing visibility of key objects. That's just bad design. Its like randomly switching which direction stereo sound comes from. You don't mess with the base senses without making it pretty damn clear to the player that you are doing it.

You can pretty much eliminate the danger of spawn camping by, instead of saying you have a 15 minute refresh time on spawn, saying that you have 2 lives every 30 minutes, or 3 every 45 minutes etc. It would allow some suiciding, but it would be a compromise. Either way, I don't think this is the correct solution. The issue is as it always has been throughout the mod. People are suiciding because they spawned in a bad place. In reality, I doubt the concept of a "bad place" would exist. The imbalanced distribution of resources is what is causing people to suicide at the moment. If every area on the map was as equally viable as every other, then suiciding would be reduced drastically. Of course, it won't get rid of it altogether, but it will reduce it. One way to reduce it further involves the stat improvement system that I think Rocket has said he would like to introduce, where a character gets better over time for doing certain things. If, upon every death, instead of losing all of these stats, you lost a percentage of them, people would be hesitant to commit suicide.

    This kind of a system is always suggested for third person perspectives, and its just plain wrong. You cannot have things be invisible one moment and suddenly pop into existence the next. Its a terrible system for new players to have to figure out, and it destroys any sense of immersion.

    If someone tells me not to move, the following goes through my mind 30% chance this guy has absolutely no advantage over me and just wants his life made easier 20% chance that this guy will hold me up and then kill me anyway 30% chance this guy will hold me up and then be on his way 20% chance that I can sprint and survive, and then have a fun and entertaining gun fight with this guy Honestly, the only people who actually comply when told not to move are retards and/or people who are role playing.

    You can't evac in a quarantine situation, and only non infected humans would have the intelligence to use the supplies. Pretty good idea to drop supplies to hasted the destruction of the infected.

    A zombie horde that spawns in the town furthest away from all players in the game, and then walks towards the closest town with players near it, and continues to do so until all zombies in the horde are dead. Any wandering solo zombies that come within range of the horde join it. Starting size of the horde would be 15-20.

  14. The east is quite important for vehicles. Solnichny, Dolina Factory, Berezino Harbour. I really hope they do something creative with that wrecked car lot as well.

    The dynamic of melee combat should be chaos. Its probably one of the only things that I would advocate a purely chance-based mechanic for. Like 50% chance to be hit, 50% chance for the zombie to miss. It shouldn't be possible for someone to be good enough to know that they will kill a zombie with a dessert spoon without taking a single hit. Going toe to toe with a zombie should always be risky. That means that running or shooting become attractive options.

    I think there should be a blood trail even if they have bandaged. So depending on the severity of the wound (gunshot>axe>zombie hit) they would leave a blood trail for a variable amount of time after the incident. I mean sure, let them stop blood loss, but a severe wound would still seep a small amount of blood for some time after. Travelling through rugged terrain would make the trail harder to follow.

    The zombies will hopefully start to resemble the ones in the mod soon, in certain aspects, anyway. The zombies in the mod took quite a few body shots. Some random ones could take entire clips for some reason. One shot is a bit weak at the moment.

    Maybe the OP shouldn't post borderline trolling (and definitely attention whoring) threads which are almost as sickening as the actual complaint threads. Yes. Its an alpha. Everybody fucking knows that. Complainers and fan boys alike.

    Smooth performance is pretty crucial for proper immersion, which is central to this kind of game's experience.
  23. I've shot at dead still zombies using a fully pristine M4 from no more than 25 meters away, and had the shots go well left or right. The guns are almost entirely random at the moment from what I can tell.

    Idea: Ammo Handloading

    I really like this idea, because I really want crafting to be included in DayZ in a ubiquitous, every day life kinda way. Its all well and good doing a run on an army base and getting 50 or so bullets, but imagine finding the raw materials to make 500 bullets? Then the only thing standing between you and spray and pray heaven is the time taken to craft them. And the equipment needed. Bullets would need to become way more rare for anybody to choose this route though.

    Hunger and Thirst timers

    If you drink to 100% water capacity, you will be able to sprint, none stop, for about 45 minutes. That is all that needs to be said. If you find that you cannot do this, and that your thirst/hunger kicks in before this time, then you simply have not drank/eaten to 100%.
