  1. To answer your questions based on my feelings and opinions. 1. I resort to shooting on sight when I know that either my groups or my safety depends on eliminating that threat, survival of my squad and I are two of my top priorities. My other priorities include gear, and replenishing my reserves be in ammo/food ect. If you have a gun or a piece of gear my squad or myself need, I won't hesitate to try and make contact and ask if you would spare them, becauses chances are, in an attempt to save yourself you would lie about what you have, only to get far enough away to shoot us on sight. I never gun down helpless people, if you seem not to be a threat, I will even help you, but I won't put myself at a disadvantage in an attempt to look like a good guy... 2. Shooting on sight kills people, meaning they are not longer surviving, meaning they lost, I won. I do not believe any one playstyle automatically makes you a "bad player", having a poor skill level, or not using ones head to me, that is what makes a player "bad". 3. To me people who shoot on sight have come to playing DayZ like that due to general hysteria and paranoia from either reading too many, "Everyone is evil, kill them now" types of threads, or watching videos or streams of people killing everything that moves. So my opinion on people who do shoot on sight is mixed, and is hard to narrow it down, but if I had to have an opinion on it, is that people need to sometimes step out of the comfort zone and take the risk of losing their gear, before adopting the, "If it moves, shoot it" mentality or as many people lable it, CoD/Battlefield mentality. 4. No if anything people who shoot on sight, or are bandits, add to my experience greatly, it would become pretty dull if everyone you met was friendly, and you sat around a camp fire singing songs, people who shoot on sight, break up the monotony of everyday play in DayZ, because the Zombies aren't of too much concern, people who shoot on sight, help not only me but others focus and put thought into tactful movement and staying cautious that somewhere in/on that high point either on/in a building or cliff, or treeline, ect. has a gun pointed right at you and you have to do your best to survive another day. 5. No we need them, as much as they need us, people who shoot on sight need to be in DayZ, just as much as a Hero or Bandit does, it keeps everything lively and exciting, and as I said previously, DayZ would be dull without them.

    The 'war on snipers'

People tend to forget what Sniping is, it's all about concealing oneself and landing shots on your target(s) from a long distance, it's one of my favored play styles because unlike CQC that tends to favor who camps the hardest, and who is able to view through a wall to see when someones coming the best, as a Sniper I am able to view people from a distance and eliminate them without having to get into a situation that favors the aforementioned things. I like being challenged with the sway and other things such as bullet drop and environmental conditions such as wind/rain/fog, but the amount of sway when your prone and rested is far too much, and the sway in general is far too unpredictable to the point where a players skill level matters not, and the luckiest player prevails, I'm all up for a challenge but I would like more reward for learning how to calculate for bullet drop, weather, and leading a moving target. Hitting my target at X meters should be about personal skill and not who ever stroked their lucky rabbits foot harder, lol... And for those who prefer CQC, is it fair for you to feel it necessary to push for Sniping to be abolished and for your playstyle to be enforced, that's like the whole Bandit vs. Hero play style, and the people who have problems with either side of that shenanigans... You shouldn't have to only protect yourself from someone who's within 50 meters of you barking over direct, you should have to think about the dude 400 meters+ away zeroing in on your head, and how you do that is using your brain and putting some solid cover between you and predictable sniping positions, such as tree lines and tall buildings like apartments, ect. Making this game too casual will drive away the true competitive players who strived for a challenge when playing and left because it's too easy now...

    Magnum or 1911?

1911 I find more reliable than the Magnum, and you have one extra bullet as well.

    Your Personal Base Location Ideas.

I'm just going to find an area that has the "Basics" that is out of the most traveled parts of Chernarus so that it wont be so easy to find, and I'll be able to defend it easily.

    Bipod not accepted by Mosin

The Bipod is no longer able to be attached to the Mosin, they changed this because for that Bipod to be able to attach to the Mosin, you would have to have a RIS handguard or something simular, the Compensator on the other hand still works and is able to help accuracy.
  6. And what we're saying is that Admins can lable their server whatever they want to, but have no right to try and enforce it. I agree that you should probably take a break from DayZ, and keep up being a Friendly player.
  7. People who RENT out servers are not able to set any "Rules", servers labeled as RP/Friendly/No-KOS are simply bait for those wanting some "Peace" in their DayZ experience in which Bandits and people who KOS will go to those servers to get easy kills. From my experience Admin rights on the servers they RENT are limited to kicking people off or using Global chat to ask for people to be nice to one another, but there are NO rules they can set, and it's against the ToS to try and enforce anything like being friendly, ect.

    Tranquilizer Gun/Non-Lethal Take-Downs

/Signed. This sounds great, having an ability to subdue without killing!
  9. Does it share the same damage as the M4A1?

    combat logging?

The log out timer is roughly 30 to 35 seconds in length, so make sure to log off in a SAFE area. In your situation that was indeed Combat Logging, and a good amount of time to wait is 10 minutes, because CL's are lame.

    Definition of Bandit vs Murderer?

In what place in my post did I state that people "Shouldn't do what they like / play how they want"? I was just giving my view point/opinion on what a "Murderer" is in a game like DayZ, I wouldn't classify myself as a "Pacificist" either, I play this game as a friendly survivor willing to help those who need it, one who prefers interaction with others over shooting them on sight, we all play how we want to.

Ballistic Vest - What Should It Do?

To me the Ballistic Vest should provide the same level of protection as the Helmet does, it should diminish damage from guns such as 9mm/.45/357/22 and M4A1 but only to a certain extent, guns like the SKS/AKM/Mosin/Blaze should render the target unconscious from the first shot, and nothing past that. Since the helmet only provides protection from the initial head shot and that's if your not shot in the face hole, lol... I also hope in the future they add different colors and patterns to the current gear.

    Definition of Bandit vs Murderer?

Here is the difference between the two, at least to me. Bandit: A person who will interact with a target usually holding them up, asking them questions, perhaps even handcuffing/burlap sacking and force feeding some hazardous item to the person, which usually ends with the Bandit taking all your items or the ones he/she really needs like ammo/attachments/food ect. Then the Bandit will either kill the person or run off and hide watching his/her target struggle and savoring the persons anguish for a bit longer. Murderer: Someone who forgets that their not playing CoD/BF and will shoot and kill anyone they see, these people to me are making the game worse because unlike Bandits who provide experiences for those involved, Murderers are just KoS kiddies who forgot what a Mic is.

First experience: "I just say Hi"

That's why I don't go to Berezino on anything above 6 players because there are always someone wanting to prove their "Survival" skills are best by shooting anything that moves...

    Payday masks

People trying to justify killing another player will come up with any excuse to shoot them, from what they wear to the weapon they have it's all used against the player in some way or another. I personally wear a gas mask, am I hostile? No, it just means that I like the look of it and so I wear it, as do a lot of people who prefer the "Look" of something over its functionality. So I observe people from a distance, see how they handle themselves when meeting other survivors and then only approach them if I have back up or the upper hand in the meeting.
  16. No I don't miss the old NEAF but I do wish they would have atleast put in one hanger atleast because it is an airfield.
  17. I haven't lost faith in the Standalone at all, for a Alpha game it is very fun and the problems it does have doesn't detour me from playing it for hours each day. What I have started to lose faith in is it's community of players both in-game and on these forums, as MOST people come here to complain about one thing or another, or the countless amount of people who lack the creativeness to come up with other things to do besides treating this game like CoD, or the people who claim people are fanboys or white knights just for having common sense and not flying off the handle at every little problem or hiccup the game has.

    Best Pistol

FNX or 1911 are my choices when it comes to Handguns, the FNX is better for those inexperienced with aiming as it has a larger magazine size (15) opposed to the 1911's (7) round mag. I rarely use my Sidearm though, but it's nice to have just incase you have a friend who needs something to defend him/herself with.

What Do You Want to See When you die?

I would prefer some bloody graphic with creepy font saying you are dead, instead of this plain white text we have now, I wouldn't mind even if it told you by whom/what you where killed by and what weapon they used, so atleast by viewing the player list you could see if the player stays on or is just your typical KoS nooblet who kills someone and logs off out of fear of being found, lol... But yeah, a new screen would be great, not something too creepy/horrific but something more eye engaging....

How long do you wait if pinned down?

I don't typically wait more than the time required to narrow down where I am being shot from, and the direction that would give me the most concealment/cover, I always zig/zag unpredictably and make sure I have some obstacle blocking the way behind me to give me a better chance at getting away, but I never log out if I get shot at, I find a way to find my assailant and return the favor. In your instance I would have gotten a fair distance away from where everyone was shot down and crouched down in an area where I could see atleast one or more of the bodies, and waited for the guy/girl with the Mosin to come in and see what your friends had on them, because one of the biggest pit falls players fall into is GREED, so I would have staked out in a location and kept my attention on the bodies I could see, wait for the person to come in and POW take him/her out.

    Really? Still this bad?!

Hackers/Cheaters will always be a part of any online game, one week they will put in a patch that halts/fixes several of the big hacks, and the next week they will be back, because from my understanding all it takes is slight modifications to the program to bypass the Hack filter. All we can truly hope for is that they stem the flow of hacks so you see far far less than what your seeing now.

Are AKM 75 Round Drums in Stable?

Yes found three in one run through the Barracks at Vybor MB, actually just gave one away to a friendly player at Balota.

    mobility and saving

I've heard this as well, as too how soon they will be implemented is still up in the air, but they will be in before motorized vehicles.
  24. This is why I tend to stay away from Berenzino on high population servers, the amount of hackers/cheaters there is unreal, and thus, I only go there to die. I'm sure that their working on a solution to these problems and more, so that those wishing to deathmatch/pvp can get in some honest fire fights, and not get hacked on.
  25. Many people don't bother reporting abusive servers because there is no real easy way to do it, many people I've talked to said if there was a in-game prompt when at the server(s) details where you could click on "Report" then give a brief description of why your reporting them, that they wouldn't hesitate but the current way about going about reporting to most, is time consuming and takes away from playtime.
