I agree, it's addictive - I can see me getting tired of it at some stage - but that's the beauty of playing the Alpha - new content will come along relatively often, I'm just finishing my tour of towns on the map with my current character then I'll take a break until a new release comes out (maybe wait for vehicles) until then hone my gunning and axe skills - need to practise PvP which will keep me interested for a few more weeks. All Good :)

Just ignorant ;-) I will get a mic...the thread and the hundreds of youtube vids have persuaded me, I'm more of a hero style...Mic is essential for helping new spawns...typing leaves me too exposed. Cheap £20 one should do the job, thanks for the persuasions

Quick question, not sure whether anyone will know the answer but...I never played the mod and was wandering what form more experienced players felt that base building, fortifications might take? Anyone got any indicators? I'm assuming it won't be a total minecraft style piece by piece construction...

I was swapping rucksacks, dropped my full one packed full of ammo and med supplies. Just about to drag my gear to the new one and got disconnected... The price of playing alpha...annoying but its fun going back to find it all :)

I can never respawn either when I die, I hit the re-spawn button then log out, log back in and it respawns me (only when I've died...) think it's a bug. Throw your tshirt on the floor, right click it and select tear - that will give you rags you can use as bandages. Head inland ASAP...more loot and less maniacs.

Have you clicked "Internet" in the top left hand side?

sounds like a firewall issue to me. Think about it, if everyone else is playing the game and seeing pages of servers - I'd check your NAT settings, make sure PnP is switched on

Don't people already trade? I prefer the adhoc system at the moment. Trading sardines for beans is my number 1 priority

There's signs on the roads, travel by roads (at least keep them in sight) and you'll reach towns (or follow power lines), you could be running for a good time if you just head out into the woods

I'm generally an unsociable bastard, my self esteem couldn't take many more people ignoring me :P This is the only true MP game I play these days since I fell out with Battlefield releasing their Alpha marketed as a full price game, so no real need for one...if I get into it, I'll get one. Had my first text encounter and bandaged someone up, it'll do for now
