How lovely o_o my first encounter was a new spawn running around screaming "LETS BOX LETS ALL BOX" punching furiously at anyone around him. After that was a lovely man in a bright yellow raincoat with a fireaxe chasing me singing about how he wants to feed me his filthy dirty rotten banana and kiwis. They should use that stuff in the ads for the game, same with the awesome steam reviews.

Alone mostly because of clashing work schedules/life but I enjoy at least having 1 person with me for things like guarding outside a building while the other loots.

I think it works as is, when you first start the game as a newcomer it is a little intimidating but fun as you start to realize you recognize areas and understand how to locate yourself faster. The only time I have had some frustration with not knowing a location is when I am trying to meet someone or help a friend new to the game, I'll ask where they are and get an I dunno, buildings and stuff around me. It would be interesting if there was a way to show your location to everyone else (turn on and off this) because you could easily find friends/other people and it could be used to draw others into a trap.

Maybe that was supposed to make us enjoy Day Z less? instead I think a brain cell might of died from reading, better drink a beer and find more beans to recover.

Roads are usually my fastest way to locate myself (intersections more specifically). The map shows every little curve in a road as well so it's fairly easy to figure out if you are tracking the right location.

Set your graphics to lower settings and see if it improves performance, if not it's your connection. Or hit up a site like speedtest.net and run a test to see if something is eating up your internet or if you have a high ping.

I think it could help being able to dump a bags contents into a new one, or dumping all your gear to give to someone/getting rid of stuff in a hurry.

Developing skills would be useful for grouping or clans as well, someone could focus on being a medic and therefore maybe have perks like holding more medical supplies (experience packing them like how medkits are) and treating injuries faster, etc. To be fair to all options other elements need complimentary perks as well, I like the idea of weapons experience for things like faster reloading (nothing too crazy) but when I was in the marines we did drills to practice getting mags in faster which does improve with numerous times practicing. The more you practiced and just naturally played the more valuable you would be as a teammate or powerful lone wolf. Other skills could appear like if you keep using a map each day eventually being able to draw and make notes on it with a pen (marking loot or ways you want to meet people, etc.)

well all it would take is something like in Skyrim how you can't rest when an enemy or threat is nearby. You press ESC and a popup appears that you can't exit while enemies are nearby and maybe a wait 20 second option so they can still try to exit.
