Y'know while I agree with a lot of what you've said, but I think you might be in the wrong thread.

Bravo for the antics, and yes you would die on sight if I knew who you were.

All of the beans.

See this is why combat logging, no matter who you are, just ruins the game. How much more immersive and realistic was that? In real life you can run, and in real life you can be smart and fight back. This IS a survival game, and it is NOT a PvP game, but even in the real world there are times when even I would kill a human being on sight if it increased my probability of survival. And on a personal note, how much more satisfying was that?

I've run into the same issue myself, I don't know what the cause is but I've found that hitting enter (just once) seems to alleviate the issue.

Beans for the sig, and for the truth. Remember what game you're playing, and that there are no rules. Always, always always always cover your own ass first. Unless you're defending a life-long friend, you come first.

Agreed, if you hear of an exploit and you don't know of anyone who's already reported it, duplicate it if you can, take proof and submit it. That's why we paid to be here, to make sure that this game is what we want and need.

Good question. +1

Coastal vs Northern Population Trends
Phalanx102 replied to MorOs (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Agreed. Honest to god exerience; logged back on to my regular server outside of Stovy Sobor, realized the server was empty so jumped to a 40-man for the fun. Cleared both Stovy and Novy, with absolutely no human contact. Figured in a full server there would at least be someone up at the military base, so stalked across the field, followed the tree-line and snuck up behind the base only to realize that no one was there at all. Cleared the base, rediculous amount of gear and ammo (still no contact) and headed up to the NWAF. Once again, quiet trip with no contact. AF is full of zombies and closed doors. Cleared again, no contact and followed the east side south. I didn't actually see another human player until I hit just north of Balota. It's honestly kinda sad in my mind, makes the game less interesting with less people spread out, I don't actually like being down in Electro and Cherno all the time. -
Does anyone know when this game will be optimized?

My first (enemy) player interaction

Exactly what I'd have done too. There's a certain satisfaction in scaring someone so bad that they combat log. -
At least you and your friend didn't both get knocked out by one axe man. That's embarassing.

The reason why i kill on sight now !!

You should never give up on your core values because of some random's actions. -
Don't think that we're the only ones. Our past generations were just as impatient, they just didn't have the internet to complain to the world on.

I've never played the mod before, I only have 2 friends that I've played with as well and neither consistantly and I wanted to get some honest opinions and stories from others. So I've been playing DayZ for seven days and I've died 5 times, 3 of those within a 3 hour period. I've been sniped, beaten, eaten, axed, and funny enough literally chased until I passed out and killed. I love the thrill of not having a weapon at all, sneaking behind zombies and trying to avoid bandits until I can get myself supplies. I love the power that a gun provides you with; the safety, the intimidation. My current character has survived for the last 4 days straight, a personal record (lol). I've held people up at gunpoint with no ammo, I've also provided a random person with supplies, still at gunpoint. My personal agenda is to provide as much help as I can to the survivalists, and to kill as many bandits and ill-will players as I can lay my grubby hands on. As far as gameplay goes I'm very impressed but I see so many things that even in Alpha need to be immediately addressed aside from the standard combat logging, server jumping, hacking bullshit. Zombies need to be far more plentiful, need to spawn on player proximity, and NEED to be fixed. It's just a huge survival aspect lost when you can't close a door on a zombie, or when you can clear a town in under 5 kills for the next 4 hours. Melee combat also needs to be fixed, when I've been "alive" for under 10 minutes, just found my first baseball bat but I die because none of my hits on that zombie that just popped through a wall register, it makes me far more irritated than if I had died to a legitimate cause, and I know people agree with me. Also, I understand that this is a standalone, separate from the mod and there is a lot missing but when are we going to get specific descriptions of content updates? I'd like to know what to look forward to, what to criticize and what to leave alone until a later date. Yes, I'm new. Yes, I might be putting my foot in my mouth. Hopefully you just love me and give me beans.
-
Oh yeah, got that from the get-go, but direct hits do frequently not register, and if you're caught off guard (i.e. ghost zombies, or underground zombies, or wall-walking zombies) you don't always have time to prepare and end up just running and swinging and never, ever hitting; which i will admit is a combination of hit-box bugs and sheer panic.
-
I've just found it hard to find a real report on the small specific fixes, but I've used my noodle a bit and been less bullheaded in the last hour and found at least a couple answers I was looking for. Also wanted to get opinions on what everyone's least favorite bugs are.
-
I can appreciate that. Yes, it's a survival game but it's also a GAME. Played for it's entertainment value. I wholeheartedly agree that combat logging is one of the most despicable actions someone could take in any game, and if I were the guy shooting at you I'd probably hate your guts, but I can't deny your logic, and I can't say I wouldn't do the same myself.

Best way to lose PLAYERS that are chasing you?

That's a great question. -
