Say you just died in Elektro to some douchenugget with a sawed off who's just roaming around shooting everything he sees. You come on here, tell me his location and server and in return I get all his loot when he's dead, and anything I want from your body. I'd even be kind enough to give you whatever I didn't want P.S. I love your signature.

Honestly, no. This is not supposed to be a meta-game experience where there are overlays and UIs and NPCs. There would never, ever be an established vendor who sells shit in some part of the city without being killed, and how the fuck can you justify a currency in a world with more mindless zombies than humans to run even some semblance of an economy?

Beans just for GIF.

Flame waaaaar! And I totally agree. Would go perfectly with my blacked out tac-gear.

Will DayZ SA die out to Mods just like the Mod did?
Phalanx102 replied to cywehner1234's topic in General Discussion
I think that's a very negative view on the game's development, and speaks volumes for your lack of video game development knowledgement. It takes years to develop and release a game, upwards of 2, sometimes 3 for a game with a very barebones base. It's not like development for games like Counter Strike: Global Offensive which had a fantastic pre-established game base and engine to go off of. My only fear is that players and members of the community like you will drag the developers and development down with your negative attitude. If you don't like the game or where you "think" it's headed, you can go ahead and leave. -
I know that it's a very small thing to be concerned about, but I like to set up traps in high-pop areas. Usually by putting a high-value item in a fairly open area and hoping for the best, but it's hard to make those items high-visibility. Now I'm in the military and I barely have time to read this forum and the dev blog, let alone trying to figure out wtf reddit is and all that other crap, so has anyone heard anything along these lines? I would love to be able to strategically set guns or ammo in a place I could camp. Or even for future RPing purposes, setting up some sort of shop? What about when you get tents and all that? What if I wanted to place a mine down in a very specific spot, instead of kinda just dropping it from the inventory and hoping for a good effect? I'd like to hear thoughts and complaints on the idea.

It's definitely a cool story, a lot of us play just for the pit of the stomach feeling of dread you get when you see a character you don't know just "appear" out of nowhere.
-
Thats exactly what I'm saying. The skyrim reference is very valid, but honestly I'd like to see the object in the players hand as well, with the ability to manipulate the angle of rest that you set it at.

For the love of god please fix some basic mechanics first.....

Because honestly, all we players are, are idiots who paid to work on a game that's still in Alpha, and we're invested in our work and product as well. Dean's a smart, smart man. -
Idiotic Bandits - if you shoot, make sure it counts.
Phalanx102 replied to jord210's topic in General Discussion
I can't stand campers/KoSers like that personally, but I entirely understand the sentiment and actions they take. If I were CLZ I might have cuffed him first, but other than that I can't really condemn killing anyone with a gun on sight. My best story is the time when I was in the AC tower at NWAF, second time ever spawning into the game and I had just gotten a fire axe, I run to the top of the tower and lo and behold there's a guy prone on the ground with his M4 in his hands, so I promptly begin swinging away at his head, with no question as to why the hell he was proned out like that. I kill him, grab the gun, and hear the tinkling of breaking glass as a bullet flies through the window and into my head. Good times ;) -
Is there a current list of loot spawn locations?
Phalanx102 replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I agree. In fact I stopped using them before I ruined my knowledge of the map entirely and I'm trying to just learn the map myself. Hardcore mode, compass and a canteen B) -
Will DayZ SA die out to Mods just like the Mod did?
Phalanx102 replied to cywehner1234's topic in General Discussion
Agreed entirely, I'd really like to hope that the folks at Bohemia realize how destructive allowing that type of behavior. If they do, and manage to find a coping strategy then great. A huge part of it is marketing as well. Market the game to people who aren't obsessed with mods as much as they are with a solid online game with tons of content. Make the game better than any mod, or at least seem that way. I'm not saying user mods are a bad thing, look at Skyrim, but on the flipside look at how bad some of the Counter Strike mods are. -
 x2 It's a good story man, but if you're going to tell a story like you're in game I'd recommend keeping the meta-game parts out. I.E. The server swapping, the lag and all that. Describe it like you would a real life experience.

Actually joining high-pop servers and scouring the fields outside any of the airfields is a lot of fun. Very profitable.

Players need an Incentive to value their life above gear
Phalanx102 replied to 97ADU Doug's topic in General Discussion
God damnit tits, but I agree. It can even be kept within realistic perameters. If your body is conditioned to use only a certain amount of food a day, or run a certain distance a day it will become more efficient at those tasks. As well as becoming more immune to a locale's diseases over time. -
I can't wait for that ^ Honestly ready for cooking as well.

Fireworks, Flares, Molotovs, and Things That Go Boom
Phalanx102 replied to over9000nukez's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, and Molotov's wouldn't be hard to imagine. A bottle of heavy liquor from the bar houses, rags, and a flint and tinder or even a found lighter. We should also be able to do the same with butane bottles. -
Omfg, I'm sorry, GO FUCKING DEINSTALL. It's not that hard! No one cares about your opinion, and there is literally NO POINT in ANYTHING you've said except for badmouthing someone else's life work. I mean, I really want you to tell me right now that anything you said here had a legitimate point? Was it constructive? No, because you offered no solutions. Was it progressive? No, because you didn't actually point out a fault or broken feature, you just looked at a body of work and said "Wow, you're a piece of shit and will never amount to anything." Really man.

Hunting backpack > Mountain backpack (1PP)
Phalanx102 replied to The_Man's topic in General Discussion
Beating a dead horse, but a hunter backpack also doesn't stick out nearly as bad when you're scoping out a town from the treeline. With the right gear I'd blend right in, versus having an over-obvious orange/black beacon on my back. Shame about the lowered backpack spawns, in reality though everyone would have taken theirs with them. -
Obvious troll is obvious.

+1, there's no need to bash players like myself who have jobs with long hours and don't have time to dedicate to memorizing a map, or even finding all the pieces. Also I'd pay for a laminate map of DayZ to put up in my house.

Will Preventing Server-Hopping Increase Kos?
Phalanx102 replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
I actually think it'll decrease KoS in the regular areas, maybe even the NWAF, or any high-yield loot areas. If it's hard to server hop, and you spend more time on one server, I feel like most people will be more cautious, especially in regard to what SoulFirez said above, with loot now actually being useless when ruined, why risk ruining someone's gear when you could either peacefully trade, or rob them? I know I'll slow down on KoSing for sure. -
Your avatar is way too distracting, i didn't realize you were talking about snow until I quoted your post.

Why people need to stop complaining - Rant from veteran gamer/player
Phalanx102 replied to StonedProphet's topic in General Discussion
+1 man, fantastic post really agree with almost all of it. I don't mind KoSers because there would be those people in what I consider as close to a real life situation. Think about the maniacs we have in society, all the murderers, the people who slipped through the cracks? Imagine the Meurls of society running free with a gun, this is the inner psychopath's opportunity to do it without repercussions, just as it would be in a real life scenario.
