time to retire the "forward leaping zombies"
Phalanx102 replied to pacific_coast's topic in General Discussion
I literally just spend 5 minutes watching that tiger jump. What is this thread about? -
Respect the Soldier that Wears a UN Helmet!

Definitely not tl;dr. Good thread man, I love reading shit like this. -
Anyone Find the Engraved 1911 HandGuns?

It doesn't matter how bad a patch is, you never roll back, you fix.

So I'm in the United States Military and I'm out on deployment right now and my only lifeline to DayZ is this forum, so I'm missing out on this patch. I'd love some user reviews, opinions on the new content, new guns, and improvements made to the performance and such. Also, I love to hear stories; about getting mobbed, about finding other players in hordes and the like. So bring it on! :beans:

Why The Distinction Between Civilian/Military Weapons Is Bad, And You Should Feel Bad
Phalanx102 replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
Honestly, I think OP is right. There really needs to be no distinction in this game. Make military-grade weaponry rare, and ammo even more so, but also be realistic. In a post-Soviet Czech Republic, police forces would have semi-automatic rifles, they would have up to date handguns and the such. Military bases would have military grade weaponry, it's really that simple. -
Out of the loop, would love to be caught up.

That's a fucking shame bro. Keep em coming though! -

That's an awesome fucking story bro, thats exactly the shit that I'm looking forward to. Was this pre or post patch? -

Can only read text, shitty ass bandwidth. It take about 5 minutes to load a thread here. -

You guys are awesome, thank you so much. Anyone got any good stories from the southern coast on 40+ servers now that the zombies are rediculous? I appreciate the advice boss, already read most of those though. Just wanted a more personal/non flame-war opinion. -

I can read the patchnotes, thank you. I want to get players' opinions of it. Actual accounts and the like. Appreciate your straightforward attitude though! -
Does patch .43 mean we are about half way through the alpha?
Phalanx102 replied to king_of_the_beans's topic in General Discussion
I completely agree, at this point we're just all part of a huge production that will have a lot of great content release in the future. I'm just looking forward to what's next, not release at all. -
Once again, thread tl;dr, the key points are all here. Gettin' real tired of the whining about broken game mechanics.
-
I'm not at home right now, but that does sound a bit rediculous, but I would definitely say use an axe. In fact I don't see why you would use anything else. Spending 180 rounds of ammo on zombies is just dumb.
-
I agree entirely, honestly at this point I've stopped trying to interact with any groups at all. I'll try to help bambi's and new players just scavenging, but I'm extremely wary of anyone else at all.
-
Actually I've noticed the same thing. There are some times that it's game mechanics I think, like where the bullet actually lands; headshots deflected by helmets, center-mass absorbed by vests and gear, and even leg shots protected by stuff in pockets all makes sense. On the other hand though, there are times where I've put full 60-round clips into players and they've gotten back up. So...
-
I wish we had a way of enforcing this, that'd be awesome.
-
I have to congratulate you Mugur, this is an awesome idea and you've executed it fabulously. I'm a very violent person though, so I offer my services more to those who need escort services and mercenary work. If you ever need anything lemme know.

Yeah bud. -
Im so bad at this game I'm almost crying
Phalanx102 replied to Spidey (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The best advice I can give is, honestly, stay north until you're completely comfortable with your gear and playing. For some bizarre reason, no one goes up north besides to the air fields. I've played on full 40-man servers for 2+ hours and not encountered a single other person. It's honestly refreshing, but for any other time, follow Mr Death's advice. -

Phalanx102 replied to DesertSage's topic in General Discussion
You sir are a shitty person. I shall hope to find you and kill you. -
So, I know this might be the wrong subsection of the forum but I didn't want to post it in recruitment. Has anyone/does anyone know of people who hire themselves out as mercenaries and/or contract hitters? I play almost entirely solo, or with the occasional friend online, but Military life has me busy a lot so I don't have time to commit to a clan, at least not until my deployments are over, but I love the human interaction facet of DayZ, and I pride myself on being a talented player and I'd love to offer protection services to new players/groups, as well as resource gathering and contract kills. The only price would be food/ammunition found on bodies/during searches. Does this sound appealing to experienced players or just plain silly?
-
That sounds extremely enticing. The only problems is I'm deployed right now and I wont be back until next month, so if I'm back then I'd gladly join. If not then I can only wish you the best of luck. And you can keep the mosin, I just want the loot. I gave you beans, I'll work on that SKS and rounds though :)
-
This whole thread is tl;dr, so I'm just going to go head and agree with Demoth entirely. Don't point out problems without a viable solution.

you know you played to much DayZ when......

When you actually took the time to read this whole post. -_-
