You can psycho-analyze this all you want but at the end of the day, this is DayZ. You will be killed, mistreated, verbally abused etc. no matter what gender/race and so on. If you think you are being put at a disadvantage because you are female - I'm presuming you play with a feminine name (i'm not meaning to stereotype) - you can always change it and stick to text chat. My girlfriend plays with the group and myself and has rarely been subjected to anything more than "you're a bitch". She's grown enough (and normally armed enough) to deal with these players accordingly. On your point of playing a "hero/medic". That doesn't matter in the slightest. People play this game to kill anything with a heartbeat, learn to avoid coming into contact with KOS players.

Incorrect. I spent 20 minutes watching an area before moving in - Scope was shaking from beginning to end. (mosin/PU scope)

The term I believe is "Script kiddies". In regards to the first post by MartyB, good job. At the moment, admins are defenceless against these script kiddies with no real way of banning/reporting (providing their script stops them from being identified). I would much rather play a server that flushes out these guys with a mass boot than to leave them to ruin peoples fun. If you are paying money for a service which in turn you are sharing with others, if they abuse it I don't see why not. It will most likely encourage the hackers to move elsewhere so that they aren't interrupted from being shit at the game. PM me the IP of your server Marty - I'll make sure that I make an appearance. :)

Just last week I decided to do a solo trek all around the map on hardcore. I spent 5 hours going up and down the map eventually wanting to make myself wind up north of the NWAF. It was getting late so I called it at that (I was only at stary (coming from berezino)). I decided to pick up the pace the next day and got to the small military camp near Vybor in the hopes of getting a hunting backpack as I was all out of space. During the course of my adventures I had picked up 5 Saline Bag IV's and enough morphine/epinephrine I could become a walking hospital so decided that was the role I was going to play if I came across anyone. I was fully stocked so I was dropping/eating food just to save space. I scanned the whole base minus 1 last barracks. I had my gun out (but not aimed) in case I needed to deal with any surprises.Opened the door and there it was - a moment of sheer terror developed due to a crouched geared maniac. My buttcheeks clenched with the force of an atom bomb. Bang - Fractured arm, massive bloodloss. Split second and before I could even have a last ditch attempt at saying "i'm friendly" I dropped to the ground. Really puts me off travelling for so long to lose my shit. If you are reading this "crouched in the barracks watching the door" guy, I hate you.

Aim of the game is to survive - if you are coming across players and you think they will be hostile, run or stealth around them. If this was the real world - I doubt there would be as much killing but there will still always be people willing to take your life for some reason even if that reason is "no reason" (these would be your psychopaths). Just because a server says "Friendly / PvE Only / Noob Friendly / No Killing" does not mean you aren't going to get a round between the eyes the first chance somebody gets. The more you play the game the more you'll be able to tell if someone is friendly but also take into the account of the situation (e.g. if you pop out of a bush and shout "howdy neighbour", you can give someone a fright and be put down immediately). I've nearly 500 hours logged and still misjudge situations as you can't account for someone being kill hungry. Do not trust anyone. Do not assume you are safe. Other players will always value their life over yours. Cities/Military areas is walking into a slaughter. Stay safe and be smart. -
I found one a couple of days ago in a firestation - seem to be rarer than they once were.

I believe that there is already something in place to tie hydrated to running speed. If you are fully hydrated, you are able to outrun someone who is not hydrated. (this is based on fists out running and no involvement of weapons in hand as I've not tested that) On a seperate note, I'd like to echo other comments here. Bambi's can KO someone with a couple of punches, I'm fine with this feature otherwise they cannot defend themselves. I have avoided being humiliated by bandits by the fact I can defend myself with my hands. If you are able to be overpowered by a bambis hands - you need to re-evaluate why you let them get that close to you and stop that from happening.

That's a great story with an ending you don't see too often. Glad you had a positive experience, although I must admit that the geared player who gave you ammo made a rookie move by doing that. I've given ammo to players to help me kill bandits that were shooting at them only to have these gifts implanted in the back of my head.

To stop glass room glitchers do the below, if they are not logging out it makes it harder so you have to pick your moment. If posting this violates terms - please remove.

You are aware he suggested using the bug tracker which the developers work from so they know about bugs with the game....so they can fix them. You are acting like this is some sort of finished game, it's not...(it's been said a million times and will be a million more - IT'S ALPHA). If you submit a bug it will eventually be ironed out, I can guarantee you script kiddies will not be so common come beta/full launch.

Woah - slow the abuse train mate. Firstly - this is clearly this is a bug therefore it does not belong in the general discussion board. Secondly, there is a reason that these bugs and exploit videos should not be shown (I did not see the video thus I'm unsure if it shows how to do this). Do you have any proof of a ban being enforced due to a "legit player reporting a bug"?

Well the idea is that is the price you pay for not having to deal with people who can easily ghost, surely? Besides, if you are afk for 5-10 minutes, by the time you get back you would have already paid the 5 minute penalty. -

I was going to suggest that there could still be a punishment for rejoining the same server even after 30 minutes determined by cause for disconnection. If client connection is terminated via "Session Lost" then they should be able to hop on back in. If client connection is terminated by user then they should be unable to log in to that same server for at least 5 minutes. However, while writing this I realised that they could very easily get around this by pulling the ethernet cable out and reinserting. Times are tough if you bring a viable idea to the table and destroy it before you've even finished. -

This is a fair point I think. Although before we can consider this sort of thing, I would prefer the game to be completed. There is currently no sufficient method in place to punish end users who abuse the game. For example, me and 3 buddies were in the ATC and NEAF when we heard someone load in. We did the usual permiter scan but the guy had logged in to the "glass room" bottom floor of the ATC. (I have seen a player glitch in there after the supposed fix). We ran out bar one player, to the east jail. The guy who stayed behind was killed outside ATC through the wall. After pausing there for around 5 minutes making sure this guy wasn't following I hear a single shot downstairs (doors didn't open) and 1 player dead, no sooner did I hear a shot downstairs a shot rang from behind me (i was top floor back of hall). The guy was teleporting everywhere and one shotting. How am I supposed to report this behaviour if I don't know who it is? I had deduced it was 1 of 5 people but there was know way of knowing. From a player perspective, we have to just live with these unfortunate events and from the original post it looks like it's the same way for an admin. On a sidenote - a different ingame name to your steam name was a bad idea I think. You can virtually cloak yourself. -
A PBO I believe is a gamefile that can be edited. These people are editing it in such a way that it is manipulating the game to cheat.

@Accolyte 1. Glitch under hangars is only partly fixed - it's still possible to do. I've been able to do it myself while stress testing. 2. Glitch into the "Glass Rooms" in Airfield is still possible. Not been able to recreate it but seen it (both entry and exit) PM if you wish further information on both as I don't want to reveal this on the forums. Also, perhaps you are aware of this (perhaps not), after the update yesterday my game went to experimental but I was able to play on normal server but experienced a host of different bugs in the space of 5/10 minutes: Players constantly stuck crouched with constant waving animation. Players diving underneath top floor of building so only backpack is seen then emerging and standing up while an emerge from water sound plays Players going prone and lying on their back and sliding around the floor (image link below) I have footage of the last bug I mentioned should you wish to see it. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=242491771

Interesting - if that's working for you. Can an admin/someone involved in game development have a look at this? Is the info being pulled from the server essentially trying to push too much data to client through a small channel? Saying that though - massacre, you're working on a 100mb line....I am currently on an "8mb" line but I'm actually only getting around 2mb. If I allowed it to take jumbo frames etc I'm pretty sure there would be an explosion. How did you come across this, by the way? -
