    my server is among this list and now back online, but gameservers had to intervene through a ticket. all is working well.

    I think I agree with the original poster. Look, the way I see it, we paid to join an alpha. Fine. But so did one MILLION other people. And that just changed the game (as in marketing speak, not the actual game lol). And if the execs at Bohemia have half a brain, they understand too that this can be a golden franchise long term for them. Because you all know that 60% (yeah the KOS pukes) are from a wholly different generation and game universe that pays for about anything including clothes for avatars on xbox bloody live. So, if my guessing is right, Bohemia will soon open one, no two cans of devs and pour them on top of things, and Dean can do what he does high level -but not worry about micromanaging his whole team like he eluded to in interviews (more devs means more work and slows you down). Bohemia have a chance to put this amazing anti-game back on track and ensure a happy, growing base (for god sake, I saw the MSM already whine on video games about murdering, this game will go platinum 20 times over, plus every old recurgitated map will sell as DLC for 5-10 bucks. You can even sell them bloody red military boots I bet.) I just want to make a point that Dean isn't building a mod anymore. He sold it, got paid very well, and he's an employee now in a software company (is Bohemia really a gaming company?). He made Bohemia $25M real quick, and now it's time for them to act to ensure they won't lose the other additional $50M in future spin off to Battlefield 5 or that Rust game I keep hearing people about. ok rant over.

    yay! Anyhoo, I just thought that the server time was really great. What would be even better would be filtering on time? Like time between 7 and 11 AM?

    Character roll-back after new patch?

    hm this happened to me too, one server had me with my current character, a fresh spawn actually, and another, same public hive, regular also, put me in my gear from four five days ago -which is perfect for me, as I got KOS'd by some douche since and now I have my mosin back :)

    omg been refreshing a shitty list of five experimental servers every 5 seconds for the last ten minutes like a retard expecting a different outcome. Doing that along with 1,000,000 others makes you feel that :(

    I've seen them, located in Germany (I think). Anyway, played for a while on them but without luck of seeing any of the new stuff. So as of 1600 ET experimental servers I have been on them. Be sure to uncheck battleeye, and any other stuff in the filters

    Suggestion: Zombification

    i don't know or care much about the difference between zombies and infected; what I do know is that letting the game bring your corpse back goes against immersion if you yourself respawn not five seconds later on the coast. If you're happy to be out of the game/server for a day, then cool all for it. but a infected/zombified copy of yourself that theoretically you can run into yourself again, that just takes away from the realism.

    -Between Kamyshovo and Solnichniy (by Three Valleys there´s a hamlet right on the coast right now)? -Between Solnichniy and the northern factory? -Niznaya Bay has some land and roads behind it allowing for a coastal town, and would make Berezino even more sprawled out (if you count the lumber mill as part of the city)? -Is it a replacement or expansion for Guba, which imo doesn´t fully appear on maps yet? -Or is it a town on one of the islands? Technically this is also a coastal town ;) Personally, I would love to see the islands get a reason to go there, with all the fear of swimming over a (glitchy) sea with full gear, but for a place relatively safe from zombies (zombie don´t surf) and abundant loot lots of us would risk it (or strip and see piles of gear on the beach that would be funny :D ) Where do you think it makes most sense? Edit2: crossposted here from the general discussion thread, couldn´t find this discussion. Made some modifications to reflect that people are indeed discussing this
  14. The way I see it we'll have one week until the M4s are becoming hard(er) to find.. Anyone thinking of switching (back) now that the switching is good? What about accessories like scopes and grips?

    So why do people refuse being held up?

    it just flies in the face of psychology to assume that people would rather succumb to whatever is next, without any guarantee you will not shoot them after robbing them anyway. And if you are a possible lousy shot (assumption) and I have a fire axe, then in my mind, that makes us equal. The whole idea that even when someone with an M4 lowered approaches me with an M4 lowered and tells me to drop my gun or raise my hand so he knows I'm not about to shoot is preposterous. It's a clear sign of people still coming to terms with the game dynamics. The fact that the dynamics are still flawed is not helping (i.e. there is no reason to survive as much as there should be. I don't have a stash of beans in a tent somewhere which will disappear when I die. Or anything I carry is precious instead of commodity. Or because of my continued crafting items I am now an expert of sorts and can craft things noone else can). The killing will stop once people have something to live for :) It's like that in real life conflict, the same applies in-game.
  24. eating, exploring, getting stronger (not killed for three weeks now almost which improves your stamina and resistance I believe). I built up my M4 with all the trimmings, RIS guard, Magpul stock, both the Acog and the other scopes, learn all of it (for as much as possible since they don´t zoom right which I still don´t get alpha or not). Ñearn to use the flashlight in engagements. Then took me some time to drop it and go for the Mosin, which is what I got now. I was too afraid to give it to someone although I really wanted to. Learning to not become attached to my tac vest, and live a little, take some risk. I want to learn more about player behavior and am thinking now about dropping my military gear and go for more different looks and see if people will shoot less on site (I have thought long that if you can see a threat coming your way, a tactic could be to drop everything close by, walk away and act stupid. Chances are they will not shoot you (you´re in your undies) and if they will, chances are they will not look further than your body so that if you respawn you have a shot at regaining your equipment.) So now I´m learning the map, the terrain, thinking of places where to hunt and cook and build shelter. Still avoiding players. I have my own server so I like to play different times like early morning, late afternoon, the effect of sun in your back on your opponent and so on. And mostly what I do is fantasize about all that is possible. Which for now is what I like most about this game, especially because it is alpha. Because I feel like a little kid again, when video games were new and your imagination far outpaced possibilities. It feels like that again. Which in itself is one of the main pillars on which DayZ is built imo, the ability to make your own game, as much in your head as in-game. I love that.
  25. I would love for someone to make a 3d zoomable model of chernarus, so we can get a good feel of the elevations, find the ´alleys´ and so on...
