Removing the Bolt/Bolt Group for weapons

Uh, yeah, I know how to remove a bolt/bolt group from a firearm mate... military firearms training kinda helps with that... that's why I suggested it. And uh, I can't carry ALL of their guns if I'm already carrying my own, right? So... see where I'm going with this? There is so much more fun to be had with this idea too, as mentioned above. Giving a firearm to a stranger, and seeing if he attempts to backstab you. Great trust tester.
  2. So, if I was a survivor in a Zombie apocalypse, and came upon armed strangers that I got the drop on, the first thing I'd do is get them to drop their weapons. Now, I'm not a horrible person, but if they're making out as though they are legit survivors without any malicious intent, I would still remove the bolt or bolt group from their weapon, and take it away with me for a distance and drop it, before I legged it, to prevent them from potentially shooting me in the back while I withdrew. So, my case is, how about allowing the removal of the bolt group, just as though it were an 'attachment' like a source of ammunition and both a source of ammo and the bolt group need to be true in order to fire the weapon? What are your thoughts?

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.114008

I think it's high time we all pull our heads in and let the devs get on with making an AWESOME game. kthxbai.

    Storage (i.e Tents)

I would agree with the storage capability, but lets create a realistic cap (after all, there are 2x2 300-round ammo storage boxes!) and have it server-sided, not transferable to other servers to prevent server-hopping and promote player loyalty to servers. Maybe having storage facilities/containers with the ability to LOCK them too would be nice. Have a feature to try and break the lock with a tool, such as a screwdriver or pliers. The feature should have a chance percentage.

    Add more weapons!

I think the ENTIRE concept of adding Enfield SA80/L85 weapons on this map is absolutely absurd. British units were NEVER in Chernarus, so I think this is a complete waste. Civilian rifles such as Tikka/Sako bolt-actions, the SVT-40, SKS, Dragunov SVD (Maybe the Zastava M76 might be a better option?), Iszmash Shotguns, AKM/AKMS, AK74(M), Makarov PM, Tokarev TT-33 and Fort-12 would be all firearms I would suggest. As for NATO weapons, they should be focussed as rarities and in limited high-risk areas. Firearms I would suggest in this list would be M16A4s, M4A1s, M39 EMR, M40A3/A5 and M1911A1. EDIT: As for support weapons/LMGS, I think a belt-fed weapon is totally unbalancing, and I would suggest RPK and RPK-74s with 42-round magazines. As for a NATO equivalent, I would suggest the HK M27 IAR with magazine commonality with the rest of the AR15 platforms (40-round CMAG anyone?)

    Idea: Ammo Handloading

Totally agree with this. I would make the recommendation of reducing the potential find ratio for ammunition, but adding components to create ammunition such as empty shell casings (used/unprimed/primed), primers, projectiles and propellant. Furthermore, adding a hand press & dies to craft ammunition would be awesome. Serious survival with firearms component that would make this game stand out above the rest. :) Reloading is what you do to a firearm when it is out of ammunition. Handloading is what you do to create cartridges away from a mass-produced assembly line.

View Current Time (Day/Night cycle) in Server Browser

Leads me to another point too... watches. Could also be useful for navigating too, pointing it to the sun and identifying the direction of travel? Food for thought...
