So can you fill the first pack with shit, then put in in the second....then third...then fourth and so on?

Your menus are moving a lot faster than mine do. taking that ammo, reloading the pistol and all that. the game pauses and takes its sweet time on that stuff for me, and if i rush it and click multiple times it starts glitching.

Nood question - do you need the pistol in your bottom row of slots and then draw it by hitting "1" and spacebar? The few hours i have played, to take the weapon into your hand you hit the number for the slot, then space to raise it right?

Anyone else have a lot of trouble with their inventory? Items disappear - this really pissed me off last night because i fought a zombie, got hurt and needed the first aid kit i had. Dropped the damn thing in the vacinity window like normal to open it up and it disappeared. I went unconscious 10 seconds later and had to respawn. Yes i know its alpha Items will not move from vacinity to backpack/hoodie whatever items do not show up on vacinity, even after dropping them and looking right at them Items that i pick up do not show in my inventory right away, but appear later. My first impression of the item management in this game is that it is clunky. Maybe devs should take a look at stalker for some tweaking. Stalker and the associated mods had a great inventory system that never missed a beat in my experience.

1. I have no map to start. I'm assuming I need to find one but until then im lost. Suggestions? 2. Night time. Pitch black and can barely see anything at all, even with the flash light on. How long does the night cycle last and does it cycle while im offline or only while im logged in? The darkness combined with no map are making it very tough to do anything. 3. Zombies. I have been able to knock them down with punching them in the head, but not stop or kill them. My only alternative has been to run away. Can they be killed by punching? 4. Being severely hurt. I jumped off the 2nd floor of a loft and my guy proceeded to moan like a bitch and crawl prone on the ground any time I tried to move. Will he heal? A rag bandage did not fix it. 5. Servers. I've read about server hopping. I'm assuming this means you can get stuff in one server, log out and go to another one and keep that stuff, IE weapons, clothing, gear? Is the game meant to be played by staying in 1 server only or "roaming" multiple? Also - is the max number of human players in a server 40? isn't that a little low? I'm used to the Eve Online open sandbox experience with thousands online at any time. Only 40 seems barren. Any other suggestions. Really the map and the utter darkness is my main concern right now. I look forward to learning everything else myself.

Anyone know how to make it do windowed mode? I'm running dual screens and want to put a map up on screen 2 while I play. I can't alt-enter or reduce the game for some reason like I can normally with other games.

From respawn ran for about 10 minutes straight until I got to a suburb looking area with a seaport crane (Why the fuck do they spawn you in the middle of nowhere on the coast). Start investigating buildings and basically running from the few zombies I find because I cant afford to start bleeding yet. While in a building a see a player run buy with mosin in hand. He runs around me, points his weapon at me then leaves. Comes back 2 seconds later and says "You friendly" to which I reply "Yes, kinda a noob" 2 shots and im dead. My question is, how did those that have a lot of gear, weapons etc get there? did you just inhabit low population servers until you got geared up? That was a chance encounter I could not have prepared for, he just happened to run across me. Is it really just chance that anyone builds their character in this game at first?

I am of the mind to stick to 1 server and play as "honorable" as possible. The problem is that at first im like a baby and getting my ass handed to me by even zombies sucks. I can understand why people server hop because who wants to invest hours at a time into a character just to have it shot out from under you. That being said i like the challenge. I need to adjust my way of thinking and "stalk" this game, not run around guns blazing. I think im going to train myself to move a stealth as possible always in cover and do recon of any new area. In many ways this game is like real life. If i were in this situation in RL I would be crazy paranoid and not go out running freely all over the place like an asshole.

I can tell im hooked on this game, because i had my first real loss last night - fucker KOS'd me before I could get hard cover. Lost 4 hours of loot scav. My first goal when i log in today will be guns, guns, guns. Until i get a gun im not searching for anything else.

I'm of the same opinion. Brand new myself and just got 3-4 hours worth of gear wasted by a KOS player. First real person I've seen since downloading the game. I'm not pissed but I'll tell you this. I'm going to pull the trigger first and ask questions later from now on. To much investment to risk.

Confirm/Deny Your map screen is a blank screen until you actually physically find a map in game correct? IE you do not start with a map of the game at spawn.

Im having a bitch of a time finding more populated areas. spent 2 hours running with the water on my right following the tracks, veering inland only when I see structures. Came upon only very small towns, and what looks like a grain silo. was barely finding any loot at all. Ended up getting into it with a zombie and then when I was bleeding, I went to drop my first aid kit to get a bandage and the damn thing disappeared from my inventory. Wasn't in vicinity, so I went unconscious and stayed that way. Anyone else had to respawn many times at first?

OK, so im brand new obviously. Tried playing twice now and both times I died. Not because someone killed me outright, but because I was injured and bleed until I was unconscious. I just sat there black screen wondering what to do until I respawned. Seems like I need bandages or something but have found none? Any advice for brand new player to get through first few hours.

well i hope they dont slant it to much against the solo, loner type. I like the idea of being a loner in a wasteland, preying on people. Hunting......

So if i understand it correctly, when i am plugged into the game with my headset and mic, i should be able to hear another real person in my vacinity talk to me and me be able to talk to them right? No need to log into TS/Mumble etc?

yea id like to know too. id love the challenge and hunt of uprooting you guys.

Well.....i plan on killing everyone i see when i get properly acclimated to the game and get the proper gear. if you walk your a target. Just how i like to play games.

Thank s for the answers. I figured the reason my map screen is black is because i had not found an actual map in game yet. Great tip on the z "Z" being for nightime.
