    Help I need to calm down...!

    I only ever have my heart pumping if I'm in a standoff with someone out in the open or if I'm in close quarters and know someone is in the area. You get used to seeing people, especially if you like to watch things unfold from afar, but I personally can't get used to close quarters combat in DayZ. I'm afraid to shoot if it's not them, as it gives me away, but if it is them then I am dead.

    Functional mirrors! PLEASE ROCKET! Other than that, a little bit more in depth repair system and a maintenance system is all I'd like to see. I'd like to be able to drive a car that has a leaky radiator until I can fix it, or have to air up tires every now and then. It would create some interesting scenarios. The speed was never an issue in the mod for me since you can cruise slowly with "Q" and other than that I'm gassing on it. The cars don't go very fast as it is. I wouldn't be against varying speeds though, I just don't see why you'd ever want to go slower than you need to.

    You have full med gear but your weapon is a shovel? I am baffled. Personally I say head north. Zelenogorsk is interesting and there's also a military base south of it now. It's relatively safe to follow the roads if you're not familiar with navigating Chernarus yet. From there you can head from town to town checking stuff out and end up at NWAF and skulk around there. Whatever you do, do it carefully.

    Except people server hopped (and still server hop) in the mod even though loot has always respawned. They're just lazy and it's efficient.

    Keep in mind this is Alpha. This is the beginning of a long road of changes. I look forward to a fix for server hoppers too, even if it meant one character per server, but we'll see what happens.

    That's like saying the servers with tons of vehicles had no effect on people who played regular DayZ. _________ I say we see where this goes and not try to recreate problems we had with the mod. Fixing server hopping negates the need for all of this as far as I'm concerned. I don't play DayZ to have events going on and epic clan battles, it's about surviving and exploring, as well as player interaction, not events set up by some admin.

    So basically your communication is potentially broken due to your Teamspeak channels and you want the game to compensate? Fix the problem you have, don't ask the game to do it for you.

    Hence the communication. Don't shoot unless you know it's not your friend. If you can see them, you can tell what they're wearing I hope, and should be able to figure it out from there. If not, speak up. Accidents are rare between my friends and me in ArmA and DayZ because we say what we're doing before and as we're doing it.

    Depends. I generally watch places and deal out my own justice to wanna-be tough guys or just go exploring, knowing I'm able to strike back just as well should anyone try something. If I'm with a friend and we're both set we figure something out. In the Mod we'd get a car running and sometimes a heli. Here, I don't know.

    Because every military base stores the full range of military equipment. Right? _______ The OP admitted to wanting anti-material rifles. I think it's safe to assume he meant anti-material from the get-go but even if not, he has showed avid support for them being added still so it's relevant. Sniper rifles will be added, we already have the Mosin. Once this was pointed out the OP tried to justify the addition of .50 cals. Specifically .50 cals. Even then, why would Chernarus have high-end western/NATO weapons? It makes more sense for the likes of the KSVK to be here than the AS50 or M107. I have a feeling the OP wouldn't much enjoy the KSVK though because it uses a PSO scope and doesn't have different levels of magnification, which he said he was looking for in these rifles. I think we all expect the SVD to show up at some point which will serve just as well. This thread isn't about that though, which can be seen on page 1.

    Isn't it rare for newly released games to go on sale so soon? Starbound isn't doing it either as far as I know. Right now I don't think they're aiming to get mass sales, though this is just based off of old anecdotes, but they'd rather have a group of devoted players/testers in it for the long haul than people just jumping in to see what's going on and fuck around for a bit.

    Sticking to the topic at hand...if you have two pistols then you have two pistols. Cool. Drop one. If I have two rifles I don't make a suggestion to let me dual wield those like Rambo. I just don't pick up two rifles because I don't need two, I need one. Similarly it could be said, "Well I have 3 shirts, why can't I wear them all???"

    Pistols don't though. I don't see your reasoning here. You said you want to dual wield for RoF and hope a bullet hits. I recommend the M4 which has an automatic firing mode, which is undoubtedly a higher RoF than two pistols, and you still want to dual wield instead? What?

    You can do that without dual wielding. They could add extended magazines if you're into that, I suppose, but I still don't see the logic. Why wouldn't you want to try and hit your target with accuracy?

    I don't see what good this would do. If you're not aiming them you're not going to hit anything unless they make it like CoD and other games with dual wielding, but if you are taking the time to aim it's pointless, as said above. You play DayZ and think, "You know what this needs? Dual wielding!"?

    While I'm not sure if it's going to be added, it's the same caliber as the DMR/M24 in the mod so I'd expect the same here were it to be added.

    I haven't read through this all, so if it's already been said then oops, but a mixture of servers might help for now. Some servers have your character locked to them, so there would be no server hopping on that server. You could have private hives with a few servers on the hive so it's still possible but not to the extent currently. Finally you have the rest of the servers which are public hive. _________ I'd just like to experiment as we go and find out what's best. We're in Alpha, there will be ups and downs let's get to it.

    In other words, "I feel cool shooting it, please add! Even though the range is undeniably insane compared to every other weapon. Good for stopping crappy soviet cars too." If you can't stop things like the UAZ or even Ural with a 7.62 you need to work on your aim. EDIT: I'm assuming they'll be adding crappy soviet vehicles as the bulk mode of transportation, considering the wrecks, but I could be wrong. Sorry if that came off as exceptionally rude but there's no practical reason for adding these weapons and historically it caused a lot of problems. The "feels" and "sounds" of weapons are not how we should decide what gets added in my opinion.

    That doesn't change anything. I don't wear them, they come off as silly to me and I feel more menacing in a gas mask, but I can't help but see 1/4 survivors running around in one. If they were just extremely rare I wouldn't mind that either and they really don't bother me a whole lot, but I can understand where people are coming from who want them removed.
