An axe will kill a zombie in one hit. Loot isn't bugged, it's intentional and if server hopping was fixed, it'd cause some interesting exploration. I like it. ________ The hotkeys are a bit iffy currently from what I can tell, that's obviously going to be something they fix. Other than that it seems fluid enough for me. More zombies are also going to come. Read Rocket's twitter and these forums, you'll see that they have every intention of upping zombie count, among other things, and adding "this" and "that."

Because a vast majority of people who played the mod use it. If you want a standalone to be as successful you don't get rid of something used by the vast majority. __________ Where are you seeing that this is all about realism, btw? I think Rocket described it as aiming for an "authentic" feel. You want realism? Then start questioning why we can gorge ourselves on water and sprint miles on end while eating unhealthy food along the way. If you want to be upset about one aspect of "realism" then you've got a laundry list of things to discuss. I'm sure first person servers will come to at some point. -

Specific to the SA, good advice is to fill up on water at a well before you truly begin your journey. Also specific to the SA, travel from building to building to travel through a town. Even if you run into someone you have walls to separate you both and break LOS quickly. -
Is it me or does the drink and food meter drop too fast?

Your priority upon spawn should be finding a well and food. Once at a well, fill up until it says you're completely full, and stuff your face with food. You'll find you can go a long time without food or water then. -

What did you expect? Rocket was pretty blatant about what to expect. I'm surprised it's sold as well as it did considering. We're testing and I think we've all found bugs and hopefully reported them. Take a break, no shame in that. Lol I'm surprised he bought it to be honest. -
How is it not fair to leave the loot alone but prevent server hopping? Loot is supposed to be scarce.

Did you even play the mod? People server hopped when loot cycling was easy and common. The loot spawns have nothing to do with it.

You're doing it wrong. Those barns are a waste of your time currently if you ask me. Everytime I seek one in Zelenogorsk I find one. Look in cars, especially the front and back seats. Look in buildings. I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with certain buildings that often go untouched and check them. I once found 20 rounds of ammo all neatly packaged to go with my Mosin. Houses seem to be far more likely to have them than barns for some reason. As for scopes, I can't help with the long range scope, but the PU scope, if interested, I often find in garages, of which there are a few in Zelenogorsk. EDIT: Don't fucking server hop for a Mosin either. The loot is fine and it's so mind numbingly stupid to resort to that instead of actually exploring. I can't wait for them to fix server hopping for good so people actually check the inconvenient spots.

This mindset is either justification for laziness or moronic, you tell me. The towns are great, a big improvement over what's in ArmA 2 if you ask me. I care more about the features of the game than how the towns look. I wish there was more to the inside of certain buildings, but that's about it. The city limit signs work wonders.

It's a bug. One day you should be able to walk down the corpse-littered streets of Elektro as you can in the mod. EDIT: as for combat logging, we don't know how it will work just yet, and if we did, it's subject to change, so we can't really say how that will work -

You didn't expect this to be in? To simulate certain things you have to do things differently. You can't simulate our real life focus on a 2D plane. It doesn't make anything useless. Plus with the way things are rendered (vegetation primarily) a quick zoom can help quickly distinguish if a bush or rock is actually a bush or rock. They shapeshift, truly. It's a running joke among me and my friends in the mod and it's here as well. Did you play the mod? -

Find an example of this working properly in a game full of strangers and I'll truly reconsider, then. I'm saying it's indicative of faults. You say it must be simple, yet it's not been done. If something simple hasn't been done, and no doubt someone has thought of it, you have to ask "Why?" -

Never been done before -> "I'm sure it's a simple thing" That seems like it contradicts itself. I'd expect ArmA modders to be all over something like that if it was so great and simple, but they're not. I ask if there's an precedent of this working because if there's not, it's likely indicative of how annoying this system would be and how it's not gained support. -

Well we are still in Alpha and I do believe Rocket has intentions for a backstory to how all this came to be. Let's see if there's official lore behind it before we try to say how it SHOULD be based on our interpretations. More zombies are going to come, it's been about a week and you think this is how it's going to stay? Everyone expects and wants more, don't worry.

That area, as far as I'm aware, has had some major changes and will have more to come, so it's very possible. However, Bor isn't listed on the map either but it is still there, so it could just be a similar case. Run up there and see.

Probably because it disappeared. As far as I'm aware it's a bug lately. You never find other corpses either, do you? Even though you'd expect them in certain towns and buildings. -

The system in DayZ/ArmA doesn't distinguish between any noise. It's up to the mic and the relevant software to do that. You're trying to make this so complex while Mercules points out just how easy it would be to work around. Then you reply, "Why would you do that?" Really? This is a waste of everyone's time. -

Military bases. Same place you found the M4. I find the ammo isn't all that rare, but that may just be me. I don't go to the places that will no doubt be looted either.
