No really, dude Im a Tecnnical Author see ?? Until I decided rock climbing was more fun I wore a Rolex and a Pierre Cardin Tie to earn the sAME income (call it KEB) as The Brit Prime minister, for what I wrote - and I cant be EFFFED to follow RULES when I'm off Duty.. whiich is what I said like =SAID= in the last post except using different words .. go read Wittgenstein & Chomsky & learn how to design sound filters using laplace transforms on TI 32020 processors, join a games Company and work for Hewlett-Packard & do Philips tech PR in your spare time (for fun & kicks.. have polite conversations on the Tech Future of Europe with Sub--Ministers etc.. get free passes to conventions because of your ability to use WORDS ) & like it or Dont - this is MY language - follow iffn ya can - thanks for the 9 out of 10 been there seen it dun it effed it Ate it... have some BEANZ mate and a happy life.. advice = Avid being DRAb & KOS clichés, they get you brain-stilt (yo understand that = "you get a stilted brain"=) - If ya write like that it means you think like that - so you JUST TRY to be multi faceted or we aint NEVER going to make it .. I <guess> you meant it, so I wont be unkind : THANX - you think maybe I should ignore or deride players who are HERE to COMMUNICATE but don't have a special qualification in it ? I try to understand them - I hear them, I work it out to understand them. I take the time. I don't give half a roadkill-mongoose where they put their commas, long as it ain't up my @ss. I'm just a guy passing in the street, same as the next.. I don't think I'm better OR worse or smarter or dumber than anyone else. End of story. .. got it ? xxP

Mosin–Nagant has an internal fixed built-in magazine - not removable - so it has NO plug in magazine., but you can load five rounds quickly with a stripper-clip instead of one at a time. I guess CTG is right you don't have these yet in Xbox ?? I don't play Xbox but the way you load a Mosin doesn't sound very intuitive ( .. hell, maybe they changed it in PC too.. ain't tried one for a good while). IRL = You load a Mozin-Nagent from the top by pushing in cartridges one by one, OR you have a refillable stripper-clip of cartridges and you can push down all 5 rounds through the top of the receiver, out of the stripper clip into the internal magazine, in one movement. - at least this vid shows you what a stripper-clip looks like in real life & how it works (for any folk who don't have one at home)

" I was all screwed up on DayZ until I got Moral Philosophy, now I'm all screwed up on Moral Philosophy ! " .. I hear the background music.. shouldn't it end with a female choir humming a sad old spiritual ?

well - if you want LOOT, get the drop on the guy and tell him to empty his stuff on the ground, or just drop all his clothes on the ground, then tell him to run off in in his underwear if he wants to stay alive. In the PC version there are (or were?) handcuffs, and you could put a sack over your victims head. Ask around the PC bandits about that.(I just shoot folk in the back I aint fancy) I think where you put your stuff helps against zombie damage.. which is mainly superficial on PC (unless you get a movement key stuck down while 3 of them are beating you up.. hmm?). Punch them in the head [on PC they used to get up again sometimes, like they'd been unconscious, now seems like they just stay down] then bandage, then check your gear see what's 'worn' or 'damaged' .. should be just a couple or 3 of items or maybe 'worn' clothes unless you had a GOOD LONG fight.. * I THINK (IMO) - BI have started off Xbox by putting in the obvious stuff like mil gear, automatic weapons, things that (perhaps/probably) Xbox players expect first. So its natural to "run-run, gear up, shoot" .. and seems like "gear up" means more or less "military gear" ... In the PC version there is plenty of equipment or crafted things that are not "military".. and there are more serious risks about what you eat .. According to the BI plan, you will be getting everything that is in the PC version - and soon reach a stage when the two are the same.[Batty has stated] After that every change or tweak on PC will bring the same change to Xbox right afterwards. Then you'll have more choice of play styles. I play public hive servers when I can : I stay out in the country, I set myself objectives and then go do them (I only look at the map before I play, then in game I go from what I remember). I hunt, I overwatch high loot places sometimes (or overwatch the places other players usually overwatch from .. mmuahah) , & upcountry I find other players tents or vehicles or barrels. If there is little cheap stuff in a tent (beginners) I leave them something better. If there is too much ammo or guns I just throw them away into the bushes so they despawn (heh) .. Barrels I maybe empty out and steal. A vehicle I'll overwatch or probably drive it off and hide it someplace else. When I get stir crazy I find myself an AKM (personal taste!) and go into town looking for trouble until I find it - because starting from fresh-spawn is one of the fun parts of the game. Having too much stuff takes your edge right off IMO. Some people are collectors, I don't do that much. Someone in total full mill gear or someone with three or more tents I assume they are "not my friends". Also, 1pp & 3pp both have fanatics both sides arguing the other is WRONG.. arguments about human eyesight, awareness, immersion.. but I'm easy on that - both are different ways to play, so if I turn up on a 1pp or 3pp server I play it that way. Both are very good IMO, just need different expectations & tactics and playstyle. All this stuff is Just My Opinion. I have 1500 hours in game and go for long spells without playing, then binge, and have to catch up on new tweaks & changes. Look at the steam lists, plenty folk have twice my playtime. There are some experts around in each different aspect of the game. (I'm not one). * Would be great if Xbox and PC were only different in the software you have installed at home on your rig, so that the server software was exactly the same, and both could play on the same servers. Then Xbox players would face the old mean PC folk, .. hehe .. ( come and GET SOME ) I don't know if that can ever happen for 'legal' MS Xbox reasons, or if that is even possible. Haven't heard BI say it's impossible. ( ?? ) - probably it aint possible.. Does that mean PC players are going to have to buy an Xbox to come CHASE you folk? - I wont do it unless MS put a KEYBOARD on their box, for sure.. OK, Im totally off topic. see you around maybe.

Brilliant ! .. cooked or just raw?
-
Raw is an easy, short way of saying : "This Ingestible Product or Natural Article has Not been Subjected to a Heating Process by the End User" - you can't even say "Edible", because if it's Poisonous its not Edible but there are poisonous things around that the player CAN swallow. Or to shorten it, use the phrase above as an Acronym = IP/NA NS HPEU - ( but would that really be more helpful ? ) Most players get the idea.. Maybe someone can suggest a better short description than Raw/Cooked, that covers everything already in the game (or will be) that you CAN put in your stomach, even if you should not .. cans of cola, water, raw meat, berries, bleach, beans, mushrooms, cultivated crops.. some of these can kill you even if you try to cook them first. Also you can overcook some things, so the are 'Burned'.. then when you eat them they can make you ill too.. ps - Raw/Cooked should also be applied to water, in case you can boil it to remove bacteria .. hmm ? Anyone TRIED to cook a can of Tuna yet? * I hear you Xbox players can eat Worms ? - wow ! .. we PC nerds never had it so good. That's just LUXURY.

There are folk who have done the research from way back.. (mainly I pick it up from them) and my own experience.. The only problem is it's difficult to find these things on the Blog (and things are tweaked and change from time to time) but they are all here if you can find them .. there's several years worth of advice on play AND technical, buried in this Blog.. If you watch Youtube you SEE a lot of play, but you don't know HOW it was done, or what the detailed effect is. That stuff is all discussed here... somewhere. Like zombie damage or bullet/melee damage reaching a backpack. It - USED TO - inflict points starting a the top left of your backpack and going horizontally right and downwards by rows, so you'd play keeping the most valuable stuff at the bottom as much as possible, so it had less chance of being damaged/ruined.. I don't know if that's still true. Try keeping the worms and cans at the top and your pistol and ammo a the bottom, see how that works out.. And zombies used to rip your pants up a lot.. (maybe BI altered that when word got around, or made some other damage-distribution changes. ??) - ya just have to live through it and check it out.. I never had a Zomb rip my hat to shreds, at all, (hmm?) But I aimed at one running up at me, with my pristine Mauser and he hit me before I could pull the trigger - When I pulled, the gun went "click click" - gun was <Damaged>, wouldn't fire, dude, zombie had hit it right there in my hand .. & I didn't get a scratch anywhere else. xxP < ps - yes shooting a player ruins most of their stuff, it was upped to discourage bandits I think. Maybe a bit excessive? >
-
Yes - depends where e.g. zombies do damage most to your clothing .. work out the safest places to put stuff you don't want "ruined".
-
The cans of cola are RAW too.. would you prefer them COOKED ?
-
<< Say, what was you doin in my forrest ? >> (yup.. sad but true .. a while back I took up with talkin' to the bodies after I killt' em) ..
-
Everything works better on PC, dude ! That's what PCs are FOR. .. EVEN Microsoft runs OK if you TRAIN it to ... Gaming consoles are just made to give <<them>> better control of your cash and your mind. My advice would be - don't go there, kid. Hey, if the Xbox is your bag then fight for it. That's OK by me, no sweat. But ma mamma allays say - " Why buy a rig you can't even root ? "
-
In the PC version there used to be a mag-loading sound when someone spawned in. It was taken away. There were a couple of clever "meta-game" tricks to know if another player was close.. so they tried to deal with those and (I think) in the process the Mag-Load sound vanished with the meta-game gimmicks. Look back through the blogs for the ancient history of DayZ versions. Or ask a kindly PC player, or a DEV. there was also a time when you knew if rabbits were close because you heard them making the bullet-counting sound, and they popped cans too.. that was usually rabbits. But they stay quiet now - maybe the BAD rabbits moved out ?

That's why I suggested you would respawn at random somewhere with all your gear. My first idea maybe 4 or 5 years ago was that you CANT log in or out in NO-LOG zone.. if you log out you die. This means any fights or encounters inside a high loot zone will be to the DEATH.. like in a REAL firefight situation. If you are trapped inside the Control Tower at an airfield you have to surrender or fignt or die.. you cant let your 2 squaddies log out with all their gear AND all your gear, and stay to fight in your underpants with one gun until they're clear, and then get killed and rejoin them and get your gear back. That would make any firefight or meeting in a high loot zone much more realistic.. All players HAVE to come in from outside the zone.. same as everyone else.. AND in an encounter they can't hide and log out, or squad-out.. so it's to the death. it's more Real. BUT folk said exactly what you say(*) - & << supposed the server dropped you, or there was a drop in the ping, or the serve owner kicked you unfairly, or my mum pulled the plug out of the socket? >> I'D FRESHSPAWN & LOSE MY KIT UNFAIRLY SO I said - OK "Make it a NON lethal No-Log Zone" .. if you log out in there, you are respawned randomly somewhere WITH all your kit. Just make the avatar wait in the game for LONGER than normal when you log out of a Zone.. say 4 minutes... that would DISCOURAGE people logging out because their avatar might easily be found in 4 mins.. BUT folk said exactly what you say(*) - & << supposed the server dropped you, or there was a drop in the ping, or the serve owner kicked you unfairly, or my mum pulled the plug out of the socket? >> FOUR MINUTES IS TOO LONG So I said.. "At least make it LONGER than the normal change-server waiting time, when you change servers fast.. BUT folk said (*) : !! NO WE DON'T WANT TO WAIT 4 MINS TO LOG IN - NO - NO - NOT FOR ANY REASON !! So that's as far as the argument has got on server hopping for the last 5 years..; there are 3000+ posts on it and no one agreed anything, except some folk said - if you don't want hoppers GO PLAY ON PRIVATE HIVE SERVERS - NOT the public hive. So the answer for the Public Hive is = THERE IS NO ANSWER. Everyone on PC Public Hive just gave up thinking about it or moved to private servers - and all the suggestions and the rants just Totally Faded Away and no one talk about it anymore - for about the last TWO years.. until Xbox players turned up, and started NOTICING it all over again... PC players accepted it as a thing that happens, and some folk play hopper, they just play DayZ that way, other folk moved to Private Hives. Nothing was decided, it was forgotten. so Hoppers Exist. - and that's ONE reason it's so easy for you Xbox folk to gear up and PVP.. End of story. - - - - - - - - * yes, when you respawn at random you might get shot... that happens anyway.. and if the server drops you in the middle of a battle (anyplace) , that's bad luck.. but if you log out in a ZONE.. then you're asking for trouble.. All you have to KNOW is there are HIGHER risks inside that ZONE. And SURE if you get kicked you MIGHT respawn and get shot.. but you knew that before you went into the Airfield or the Mil Base... So like IN REAL LIFE you know entering HIGH RISK areas is a RISKY thing to do (right?) , and if you want less risk maybe you should go out in the woods and read a book and eat worms.. ?? IMO = = WAR is Hell.. OK... You deliberately go INTO a WAR ZONE.. you ought to be ready for the CHANCE that BAD THINGS MIGHT HAPPEN .. specially if you want to <play safe> and go in there by HOPPING. You will definitely NOT get in there by hopping if it is a No-Log Zone .. You take your chances just like EVERY other player. Going in a No-Log Zone = Serves you right. Tough luck. DayZ and Death are both Unfair.. Cr@p Happens. Deal with it. That's my attitude to what happens in a NO-LOG zone . Even if you log out by accident... If you're afraid of that, DONT GO THERE. But anyway - the bottom line for PC players was... the argument faded out, no one agree, everyone got bored talking about it, the discussion and the ideas were dropped.. If you Xbox players have ideas.. pick it up and run with it . Hey, dudes & dudesses - this is YOUR Game. ENJOY xxP

.308 rifle - and a Red 9 (Mauser) pistol or a double barrel sawed off .. about 15-20 rounds for each, is fine .. wear anything dun or drab or faded green, brown whatever (even a yellow raincoat blends if it's "worn" not "new") & beret or gorka plus a cutting tool (or 2) & rags/bandages (ready) & something for water that's ALL a man needs...

OK - so go toSteam Library and look to see if your DayZ is listed as DayZ Experimental OR Dayz stress test You can change it in DayZ . [right click] / Properties / Betas - & choose 'Experimental' (NOT 'Stress Test') from the drop down list .. (there is no code to enter). Then Close that select window & download .. If you are already listed in your Steam Library as DayZ Experimental, then try my suggestion in the last post above? - but it sounds like you've chosen to install Stress Test instead of Experimental, because you can get into stress test servers.. hmm ? Anyone else got this problem?
-
well - I guess you didn't make a previous backup .. (it takes space).. so stick with the latest version. - so try to get it to run : Set "correct version" in your DayZ server menu options..choose "Official servers".. set your ping to about 150 to get plenty of them listed.. blank out "previously played" .. (you know that stuff, right?) .. then try to get in to the top 6 or 8 lowest ping Experimental servers - see what message you get each time. * * * If you decide it's REALLY your game files that ARE messing you up _ (you maybe know how to do this already.. but..) In Steam Library, right click on your 'DayZ experimental' and choose Properties, then select Local Files. Run the steam check "Verify Integrity of Local Files" * * * if it all comes out OK, BUT you still can't join a server, go back to your DayZ/Properties/Local files and open "Browse Local Files" that opens Steam/steamapps/common/DayZ on your rig. - move out the FOLDERS (only, NOT the lone files) that have NOT been updated (the other folders will have today's date, OK?, because they were just updated) .. just move those folders OUT onto your desktop, <then you can put them back in again if you have a problem>. Now run "Verify Integrity" again.. Steam will REPLACE the folders you moved away (and the files in them) that were not updated. so they will definitely be the latest versions, Even if they are still "old files" (not today's date) you know they are the newest ones that should today definitely run the game.. Maybe they really didn't Need updating.. but I had this problem, ( I was moving back to Experimental ), and Steam was missing an update somewhere in one of those "no need to update" folders.. I did this and the game ran ok. It was the Missions folder that was messing me about, in my case.. Battleye didn't like it. Don't move out your single files that are NOT in folders, for instance like your "steam_appid.txt" file.. else Steam will throw a wobbler and you'll have to reinstall. Just move ONLY the Folders that don't have today's date on the folder. If this doesn't help you .. at least you know your whole DayZ folder is clean and up to date with the real newest editions of everything you need. xxP

Yes sorry about that bud, its a combo of irony and jumping ahead of myself. I worked on computer game design for 100 years, my ex-wife is STILL working on computer game design. She ran the programmers (who all wanted to play DOOM at work, I don't know what they play now instead of working), I was on the character level design and dialog side - then every so often we all got dragged (or ran to be first in line) into Testing. From Gameboy to PC, I have open and shut so many doors from every possible angle, and tripped so many action sequences from so many angles, and tried to get the camera stuck behind so many rocks, dragons, trees, enemy mechanoids and corridor walls.. that I guess it makes me a little strange when someone says "that would be easy to do, put that in the game" .. so - the answer (my answer) to that kind of comment is either "yes/no" or it's a 50 page book starting with software basics and going through to WHY people play games in the first place (wow - "difficulty levels" - that may sound like a simple concept.. it AINT.. ) I used to write the synopsis of each "room" for the programmers - how you get in, how you get out, what you can DO, what you Should Do, what are the traps and triggers.. and what interesting stuff you can put in there that WONT affect the game, (but the player thinks it might AND it wont drive him nuts) .. then argue it out and put it in the server and try and BEAT the room (eg in and out without touching or passing triggers or traps, without gaining the objective, without anything happening at all).. AND what happens 13 rooms further on if you DONT have, for instance, the keys from the guys safe.. [[..classic games - anyone here old enough to remember the "delicious custard pie" you use to kill "the yeti" in Kings Quest 5 ??.. that was nothing to do with me = totally different company and that was an EVIL game.. LOL justly, famous forever. - totally (in fact) linear, mean and bad, and Emuthreat would LOVE it.. (and it is still now playable on modern quad cores if you look for it).]] So yes - I express myself <diagonally> , I don't want to be "smarter-than-thou" (because I'm NOT). I don't want to explain the "difference" between a "level" and a "skill" and a "skill level" and why Emuthreat wants to introduce "grinding" into the game. BUT I am bloody GLAD to be out of that profession (I served my time) and BLOODY glad there is NO linearity in DayZ .. and I can play it for FUN 100% without KNOWING what is supposed to happen next AT ALL. Peoples guns or bums stick through walls - ok, but I can LIVE with.. * And I KNOW that any "skill" means that in the heart of the software there are a couple of lines saying: Spark Plug Skill = (00) ; Spark Plug Attempts = (00) & When you get to Spark Plug Attempts = (05), then Spark Plug Skill clocks up to (01) After Spark Plug Skill = (01) .. then you don't get damaged spark plugs when you try to insert them. AND every player inside a week KNOWS that to fit your FIRST spark plug you need to collect 6 of them.. and the 6th will go in without a problem. because Spark Plug Attempts will increment from 0 to 5 and Spark Plug Attempts= (05) sets Spark Plug Skill =(01) Doesnt matter if you "call" this (even internally or in the developer software notes) : Player has Spark Plug Skill or Spark Plug level 1 or Spark Plug Expert ... etc... BUT - that (01) stored in the software is probably at LEAST a 256 bit integer (what the EF else would it be, boys & girls?) .. so there's no reason you should not have Spark Plug Skill going up many more levels, - (for instance 5 levels or 271 levels). So you CAN set 100 levels and drop 1% off the likelihood of Spark Plug = (damaged) for each level up. Do this with Stone Knife skill Do it with Scope Steady aim skill Do it with ALL the skills you like, anything you can think of (Changing Pants Skill) (Fishing Skill) (Fast dodging, overcoming inertia, Skill) ... For instance.. the more you shoot with a scope the steadier your aim... so all the players KNOW inside a week that you just have to fire into the air through the scope 20 times... or whatever number of times you need to gain Scope Steady Aim = (01), then the scope cross-hairs wont move so much when you sight for the next shot. This is how computers work - call it Skill, Profession, Attribute, Level.. call it whatever you like .. it is still called "grinding" by games fans. I am so so so so PLEASED to be OUT of that.. And I am totally PLEASED to be out of linear or plotted games with their INEVITABLE rooms. It is brilliant to have no triggers to game events (a game event is, - well.. you ALL KNOW already .. for instance "what do you have to do in GTA to get a police helicopter on your ass?" ). If it's good, you know how to Get it, if its Bad, you know how to Avoid it. [yes I know you can trigger zombies, but that's only like triggering falling off a ladder] The other thing about "skills", of course, is that all the players REALLY SOON know exactly how to grind to get them - and THEN they want them LISTED ON SCREEN.. so they can SEE which ones they have. And they will ultra-complain like Frag if you don't list them visibly, because now they have done the GRIND to get ALL of them, and they need to boast to their friends (and check which they have missed).. And then, official or NOT, that is an "Achievement".. (call it what you like).. and they will kick up Hell to know that and SEE that. And so then DayZ has stepped back 20 years in game design.. back to the G O O D - O L D - D A Y S The text messages "I feel hungry" etc - was a BETTER, & simpler, interface than the HUD -In my opinion. * Remember back in the Old Games (still in most of the online New Games) when you could calculate (pocket calculator) the average hit power of your weapon when you had 3 different combat skills at 3 different levels, and your Stamina was 95-100% + Extra Vitamins and a Medic behind you, and you were talking on an NPC level 17.. ? .. You could COMPLAIN you should statistically have killed him in SIX hits (7 hits max even with bad luck) but he killed YOU instead.. LOTS of VERY ANGRY arguments... nah! don't go there. PLEASE Dont introduce even one level of skill from level=(0) to level =(1) in ANY ASPECT of DayZ. - grinding and leveling. nah! don't go there. No plotting, no skills or levels or aptitudes No planned game events, like announcements of Loot Drops at xyz coordinates.. The heli crash sites are already as far as that should go and plenty players KNOW the parameters and the routs to go to get max possible loot, they DO this as their day in-game... those guys do NOT "unexpectedly" stumble across a crashed heli.. No trade zones, No KOS/PvP zones.. ya know the drill.. I proposed a method to slow down, seriously discourage, server hoppers who stay in one high loot area (barracks, airfield towers) and hop for loot. That high-loot-hopper discouragement is as much as I personally am prepared to stand for to "weight" the game in any way.. And no one picked up on the idea anyway. * I HOPE this explains why I am so INCOHERENT - and why it takes a whole essay to begin to explain something that to ME seems so Obvious.. I guess some PLAYERS think dayZ is a whole "world" that was always just there online existing for no reason, not "created", just THERE since time began, and one day they wandered in and found it .. (that's like total immersion, right, Alice through the Looking glass, heheh.. you don't even notice it was MADE) It is an artifact built by creative & hardworking people with abilities and training and experience in design, decision, and software - AND a love of gaming.. most of them HAVE that. It takes thought to design it and work to change it. It was made partly to Avoid cheap fast repetitive thrills, and it was made partly to Avoid grinding. So what is it FOR ? - well - You can look up the history of how and why it evolved if you like. * This game is great - I REALLY don't want to KNOW in ADVANCE what is going to happen next and how to deal with it, except by having personal experience of the game and using my own wits "as if" in real life.... (what is the percentage chance of getting ill drinking unclean water - (the PERCENTAGE? - I really DONT want to know, I only need to know from in-game experience there is SOME CHANCE..). so I don't reverse engineer the game, even to check the zombie hit/damage odds, or bullet flight path accuracy, etc.. I just PLAY it. And that, friend, also explains why I am not a Modder - I appreciate what they do - but i am not EVER going to go back into one of those "how does this play out & what can we do about it" meetings ever again, because I paid my dues in there. LOL. I wander round experimental, I'm LAX.. it's a game, it's time off.. but if I notice something repeatable I cant help spending an hour or so just doing that and logging on/off several times & doing it again, all the combinations of it I can think of ... In the comments you CAN easily SPOT the one or two people who are in the Trade.. One or two are very GOOD at annotating experimental glitches. Kudos to them. For some reason I want to explain this stuff to people who are not in the Trade.. Guess I'm on a loser from the start, right? - But I hope this page answers your question. I do TRY to be direct and simple, AND I have a sense of English humor.. OK. I don't mean any harm, I don't bear grudges, I don't insult folk unless they insult me first, and I hope JUST a line or two somewhere will stick in someone's head and give them Light Joy Understanding, Great Ideas, and hope for the Future. Online gaming has ONLY JUST STARTED - less than half a generation ago - To be ABSOLUTELY SERIOUS, this new media SHALL change the world over the next 50-200 years. Wish I could be around another 100 years to see it and influence it (with these long ironic philosopico-technical posts - YES !!) .. we ARE only at the start, don't let world-big-money take it over, they will EAT your heads and leave you with pay-to-play husks instead of Minds. xxP - thanks for asking dude, I apologize for being obscure. - Power to you.
-
when you spawn, go for water and food, get a flint knife - don't go to high loot places until you're ready for it. Get out of town fast & stay away from the coast.
-
People will say : "Dont Get Attached To Your Gear" .. probably IrishMike was the first person I heard say that about 100 years ago, and it's been in every "Advice" ever since. You feel a lot better when you understand the Truth of that statement. Now you are one of the Enlightened! AND anyway, starting from new spawn and getting through the first day is IMO the BEST part of the game.. DayZ will always kill you (often or usually "unfairly") , and if the restarts don't get your stash the bandits will, or something else (geez knows what.. ). It happens. .... Yo ! = Throw away the flare, make yourself a flint knife, plenty bandages, grab any backpack, & get out of the respawn areas .. aint just LIFE a great gift ?
-
Profound Truth! .. but remember the patch when zombies gave you infected bites and suddenly "antibiotics" became super-rare (at the same time)? And there was no other cure. Nobody mentioned to their long-time friends if they had a stash, so they wouldn't have to say "you cant have them". After an infected bite, folk would shoot buddies in the back and go through their pockets anyway. (hey .. in fact that's typical film-realistic = infighting after infection). Team-mates stopped sharing tents and started avoiding each other. Friends were lying. Geared-up unlooted bodies on the streets, killed to see if they had one life-saving strip in their pack. I went solo in the north woods and carried an HMG to keep zombs away, (heheheh) & search for truck stashes & try to shoot down helis to loot for food. Guy shot me in the back and messaged my respawn "I left all your gear, looking for antibio, hope you can get back your gear in time. Sorry. I was a Hero but now I'm sick. If you want my gear I'll be dead by the statue in Berezino. " That was a reasonably harsh time..? < & damn, I still miss those big deep stretches of forest; they would be GREAT now with wildlife added .. those were the places you COULD really meet a bear now, not these little copses & thin woods you can see through from one side to the other.. >

Look at it this way - you were warned that the Xbox version was a simplified trial version, operable, but with bugs and all kinds of issues. Just the technical problems of converting a PC game to Xbox means data is stored differently, sprites run differently, graphics have different parameters and limits, the controls are not the same.. BI is definitely working like crazy to fully convert the and FIT the PC game into the Xbox platform..its a different OS for jeez sake. (ask a programmer what THAT means) .. BUT .. ALSO think about this - 1) The Xbox game WILL follow step by step in the track of the PC game.. any changes to PC will come to Xbox immediately after.. and this will go on as you report bugs, as you play the game, as each new idea is tried, and new problems are overcome .. Give it a month or so and see where Xbox has got to and if there are any major problems left. There won't be. BI are working Seriously for you. There is a LOT of stuff going on right now. 2) You bought the game for a one time payment - the game itself is not "finished" and I HOPE it will NEVER be.. It has changed over the years with new additions, new options, new equipment, better graphics.. it will GO ON changing.. I hope it never reaches a version where it STOPS forever and nothing changes and nothing new is added. Because anything new needs ironing out and THAT is fun too..You are part of the process. For your one time payment you get to play FREE for 10 years?..20 years? .. forever?.. no DLCs, no Addons, no DayZ version 2 or version 3, - nothing else to pay for.. for as LONG as the game exists.. Divide your 1-time, up-front, payment by your hours in game and see how much that costs per hour, by the end of the year.. then next year and next year after.. or in five or 10 years .. There are PC players who have argued and played and complained and discussed with BI and each other, and Played More, and made suggestions and laughed on this Blog, for YEARS, and run up 2000 hours or 3000 hours and are still playing. And the game is still changing and mutating and BI are still working on it - not because they are slow or dumb - because they are ACTIVE. = BI programmers and designers are in this game like a virus and they will always be there. free. No charge. So - through ALL that, the game is STILL completely free forever after you buy it that ONE TIME, and BI still have their team on it.. they work .. and its a ZERO monthly subscription to this online game, it's a LIFETIME entry fee. You pay, and then you're in DayZ with no extra charges at all ever .. Very shortly Xbox will be fully totally playable (like the Standard PC version) and cool, and THEN it will go on being tweaked and experiments tried out to see how they play, and new stuff introduced, for maybe years.. You pay your money up front and you get to play in DayZ for the next 20+ years.. if you want. That's a good deal IMO. xxP

Then kill the big guy on the first floor before he can press the alarm. He has the keys to his safe in his pocket - In the safe is a Luger and a mil Pass to get into SE Airport. If he presses the alarm a heli gunship with a searchlight turns up and starts shooting the windows, & the two guys come up from downstairs. If you kill him before he sounds the alarm the open channel announces the time of the next SE landing. You have 15 mins to get down there before the special arms-shipment heli crashes on the airport runway. If you open the fire-station back door a crowd of zombies rush in, so leave by the front door, crawl in the dark, avoid the guards who say "Still quiet. Nothing to report." or kill them. Take care there are no other players around doing the same thing.
