  1. If you aint drunk from a stream or a pond, how you know water purification tabs work ? - just wondering. If you're still not sure about disease, try it ? Eat raw meat when you can. Go around with bloodstained hands drinking from streams. might take a while

"explain all the details of their patch notes?" - is that it? what I SAID about you was <<This is advice from one technically qualified, paperwork signed, time-served, specialist PR, journalist, programmer, researcher, gamer and writer, speaking to ... a hopeful journalist/streamer - Your rant shows GREAT IGNORANCE >> This is a serious weakness in your you-tube channel. You can't just pretend to be the leader of an angry mob, no one will follow you. You have to provide content and information. At least it has to be entertaining. That was Advice .. OK ? Good luck with the channel. Now, let's hear the Constructive Criticism .. * ps - I don't understand why you think I have wasted "8 years of my life" with DayZ ? .. do you think I work for BI ? I don't know why you chose that figure, but I have done a LOT of stuff in the last 8 years, most of my life is TOTALLY NOT related to BI or DayZ or Youtube. I only DO technology for FUN these days, not for pay. I spent a hell of a lot more leisure time outdoors & rock climbing, that playing online games. DayZ is sure NOT wrecking MY life, never will, and never has.. lol .. All I was trying to tell you is you are not good at gathering and motivating an angry mob. You need personality, knowledge, research, wit, planning, experience, and off-the-cuff real info, before you can play "Mr Average" to an audience. I didn't find anything in your channel that made me want to go back there - maybe think about this? It is not a put-down, it is a Constructuve Criticism. Look at other channels and THINK what you want to achieve.

    The big problem with Battlefield is the player interaction - it's really crappy ! - I want to talk to folk and make friends but nearly EVERY player wants to KOS all the time. It makes the game REALLY boring. Jeez..The NPCs are out to get you just because you log in. What kind of game is that? Bad design ! - At least, after 18 months they throw the game away and sell you another one. BI don't even do that.

    Go to your base and log out.. then when you log in, you will be in your base. Don't get killed - staying alive is the point of the game.. Getting killed with " NO inconvenience" and spawning back in with all your stuff exactly where you left it, makes the game totally pointless. Maybe try a <capture the flag> game? There are plenty. Or a leveling game ? There are plenty. Re-spawning back to your base makes it too easy to cheat (cut your own throat to get out of a problem and go get your stuff?) - so it will never happen. and if you fresh-spawn back to what "was" your base - how do you know it won't be full of BAD GUYS ? Then you're stuck for real. I wonder why they invented this game in the first place and didn't make it more like Battlefield ? .. running for two hours on a big map is just HELL ain't it ?

    We could use an update... How is anyone still playing?

    No point putting in the doors, windows, roof, carpets, and the beds for the kiddies, until you've built the foundations. Don't know how much you understand about programming - but if you haven't finished the foundations , the doors on the top floor won't work. * * * << In-house software development tools ( proprietary built ) run on the GDs servers to create a FULL MODEL of the game -NOT what YOU call "the game" - that MODEL is then TRANSLATED into the PC Version and sent out out to the real network and server/home-machine world - it often introduces changes and we often spot weaknesses or glitches (this has always been the case) and we often propose ideas, bug reports, better ways of doing things, and there are OFTEN updates, and the game evolves. Then along came Xbox. Changes this causes in BI development methodology are TOTALLY INVISIBLE to you. So this TRANSLATION from the BI DEVELOPMENT MODEL is now translated into a "PC version" that MUST ALSO FIT Xbox parameters. This is WHY so much work has been going on since Xbox was brought into the structure - even though a LOT of that work is invisible - and what is seen "seems to be" around PC.. in fact it is 95+% <<FOR>> Xbox What you call 'unimportant" & "tiny" is in fact CORE FUNCTIONALITY.. YOU just don't notice it in the game. (then some folk howl a lot because they don't SEE any in-your-face change). But what you call "important" as a player, is superficial to the CORE software .. individual crafting combos (for instance) are SUPERFICIAL to the CORE software.. .. many items and actions are kept out of the way to not clutter up and confuse the play with multiple simple systems and items that malfunction for one or two CORE reasons. Until that CORE is smooth in all it's functionality and RUNS the game - until then, the stuff that looks flashy to YOU ( however MANY items and combos those are ) - will not work, all for the same few CORE reasons.. The development now is to the CORE functionality and when it runs smoothly and ROBUSTLY, all the glittery stuff you want to play with will be stuck on like marzipan on your cake. >> * * * I hope this makes BI's focus and ongoing work clearer. If you think they should put the roof on before they've built the walls, argue it out with the Devs. But why claim they are dishonest if your bedroom door sticks while they are building the ground floor ? They only put in that door to make you happy while they do the real work.

    You wont be able to spawn in to your base from spawning out anywhere else IMO, that would give you REALLY too many options for meta-gaming (cheating) even on a private server. - But if you spawn out in your base you will surely spawn back in there - the PROBLEM is IF other players can spawn back in there too, to ambush you - OR, if you are on an Official server, can other players ghost right into your base from another server? No special spawning, spawn rights, no-spawn zones, or limited spawn-out areas have ever been implemented - but PLENTY were suggested - (like eg if you spawn out in a mil base, you spawn back in on the coast.. etc) nothing like that of any kind has ever been used in DayZ - after a hell of a WHOLE lot of discussions (like 3 or 4 years worth?) about special spawn-in/spawn-out situations, all suggested and argued over for SEVERAL different reasons. Eventually the spawn delay was introduced.. that's all. Lets see what happens to bases on the official servers.. They are sure designed to be targets ! - the question is will they be supplied with the objects/actions/crafting/game-play support to play as FAIR targets, or just EASY targets ?

As soon as the core game runs SMOOTH on Xbox (which comes straight out from PC, that's why PC has taken a step back, to clean it for 100% parallel compatibility with Xbox) soon as it runs SMOOOOOOTH, then they will stick back all the bells and whistles and christmas decorations and juicy things.. definitely that will include everything (every object and crafting combo) that has been in the game up to .63, no doubt about it. They will probably add tasters and various guns etc to keep us interested until the Big SMOOOOTH gets here. So maybe its a good idea to keep an eye on what's happening to Xbox.. because that's where the heavy devs are zeroing in. IMO (- make it simple) they want the PC game to run on Xbox. PC players get to test the key updates & revisions (of the existing core game) to filter bugs before they go to Xbox, and without clutter (eg, without multi-varieties of objects) - When that works, we both get ALL of it. IMO

    announced for today ?? << if nothing goes wrong during internal testing, we'll be releasing a big Game Preview update on Thursday, We're announcing this with a little bit of a warning since there are quite a few things that can still break the build, but HOPEFULLY , we should be all good, and ready to release .. >> there you are, dude - is that easier to READ now ? * seems now you will have to wait a couple more days? - like the guy said out straight and up front [really doesn't sound much like a hard sales pitch to me, right? and I've seen a few, I swear]

    No more new items?

    BI is the world's biggest Indy now with over 300 staff in 5 studios They have several projects out, and are also working on new games (of course), both the ones they have mentioned and other project possibilities & internal research (any commercial company has to look to the future, right?) .. but this can't be any reason that staff are taken OFF DayZ, or any other project.. Simply, you cant have 300 or even 50 programmers working on ONE new object or crafting project - I don't know if you can have even 5 to 15 working together on one specific aspect of any game (I guess 15 would be upper limit, and getting complicated to coordinate, where I come from) whether it''s a range of clothes or weapons, new crafting combos, new game-play elements etc ??. At the moment, I estimate BI's work on DayZ - and I think DEFINITELY there ARE "enough resources allocated" given the stakes - is very much focused on Xbox functionality.. The BI development system is constructed (built in house, and not entirely standardized even between their studios) to translate the Development Model output to PC game, but the development now must totally ensure that the ("PC") 'output plus' works on Xbox.. I believe this is the priority, by far. Add to this the introduction of DayZ Bases.. which will require a LOT of fitting into the gameplay, for the game to at all go on resembling DayZ as we know it .. without turning into yet another console 100% FPS base-raid game. This will require a great deal of modifications to gameplay parameters and introduction of new elements, objects and their qualities and combo-use, completely related to BASES.. I guess this is what Devs are concentrating on for the foreseeable future of "new stuff".. Meanwhile the rest of the team debugs and renovates the existing game to fit it to Xbox. New clothes and weapons (unless related to Bases) .. are probably NEAR the bottom of the list of priorities, right now. But not because staff are lacking. IMO The only other "new" thing I see MAYBE under way & coming up (I hope) is some changes to zomb behavior xxp

    base destroyable?

    - so can we have bolt cutters and gloves ? Why not have police tape that says "Do not Cross" and make it invulnerable - it all comes down to the same very unrealistic 'realism'. Since the 1st World War, 100s of methods of crossing barbed wire been developed, electrified wire or mined wire or razor wire entanglements.. you name it.. - I don't see that putting barbed wire in the game and leaving out all the 100 methods of crossing it, will make the game more "realistic" or exciting? & I guess the fort owners will need some way of getting in and out too ? And if THEY can lay wire, why cant YOU roll it up? Let"s see what solutions the devs come up with. They will be looking at every online FPS game with bases in it, right now. .. (betcha) It has already been suggested that public hive servers should ALL be made private to stop ghosting. Enough servers are on private shards ALREADY, why make more ? If you want private shards they are not difficult to find. there are plenty - then you don't have to deal with ghosting or hopping. Many players made this choice 2 or 3 years ago. But private shards limit their players and bases to "private wars".. I (personally) always thought the interesting thing about the game was Public access to official servers. Private servers are IMO just mini boys-clubs with subsets of rules and boy-scout/tyrant Admins. Unless they are public shard they are boring. The REAL game happens on Official Servers ... IMO .. and so Bases have to deal with that environment.
