no - How much fun is it ? How long have you been having fun telling players "over and over and over again" their base stuff disappeared ?? - ever since 1.0 ?? .. wow... that must be years and years and years .. and what has bases disappearing got to do with <<loot explosions or several patches>> ?? Anyone who thinks base-building/persistance is working THIS WEEK is a bloody Loony. Instead of howling - why not do something useful - for instance spend your blog-time complaining to MICROSOFT about Windows 10. That took MONTHS (more than a year?) to even START to work half-correctly, and it aint there yet. Shout at them and abuse them about it, maybe they'll work faster? You ever wondered that MAYBE this persistence glitch has something to do with an update to the server OS platform itself ? (could be?) I'll bet BI devs are spending 100% more time finding the glitch and developing a solid solution than you are. They were still on it late Friday night.. maybe they are still there this Sunday? You'll be the first to know. It's a pisser for everybody - We all KNOW THAT.. So do you have any help to offer ?
-
So, how many times a year did you hang yourself when they turned off persistence for an update? Are you still alive? Still playing? And yes they installed a cross server loot economy and messed with it to produce different effects.. we know that.. Mainly, bit by bit, they have made it a hell of a lot easier to get military gear and guns and ammo.. but that's just catering to the no-brain kids who whine the most. That's not a decision I'd make myself, but if you sell to the lowest common denominator you make the most money, you can hardly say its "incompetence". Any changes to an ongoing live game is going to cause plenty of folk to fill their diapers and scream. "don't get attached to your gear". That used to be a KNOWN saying and standard advice to beginners. So what changed? The game got easier, nothing else.

1.0 ? Dont expect anything until coders say so...

ROFL .. If you want to be a new player - just DON'T expect everything to be easy.. this is NOT an EASY GAME.. it was DESIGNED to worry, enrage, panic, and stress players and make life HARD for them. And then Kill them. Since then it's got a damn sight easier. But the easier it gets the MORE players complain that they have no idea what's going on. They have some dumb idea this game is supposed to be "fair". I don't know where they got that from? Playing too much Mario maybe ? If you want HELL, and you want it to be Unfair, Glitchy, Dramatic, Unexpected, Crazy, and Suddenly Change the rules when you aren't looking out for it.. then WELCOME to DayZ. This game will hit you with an iron pipe and steal your boots. If you don't like that, STAY AWAY. -
if you have a big panic on, and you need to contact someone - message direct to ImpulZ on this blog. He'll get it. Or any of the Devs here.

Well - firstly its SUNDAY.. you can force people to work 24/7 but they tend to starve and die, ya know? It doesn't really help in the long run. Try it yourself before you tell other people to do it. Stop acting like a bloody camp guard. Secondly: This is a GLITCH - it's very VERY unfortunate, but persistence has worked FINE for several YEARS and it will work fine SHORTLY.. Right now there is an intermittent glitch that they are tracking down. Maybe don't play for a week if you can't stand the STRESS? - Go play Pokemon. This is very unfortunate, no one knows it better than BI, but it aint worth foaming at the mouth & losing your HAIR over it. You do have HAIR, right ?

only erected tents, barrels, cars or built structures - are persistent, in the same way stuff you wear or place in your inventory is persistent. That's persistence. Drop something on the ground, a log, a gun, planks, a piece of meat, a hat, a hammer, (a dead body), and in a while it won't be there. Scattered stuff despawns and respawns. (loot economy, remember?) How do you expect objects to SPAWN if they always stay in the same place however many times the server restarts ? That's persistence. Say this helmet is ruined - so you drop it and you want it to lie around ruined FOR EVER ? Wouldn't it be a good idea if it respawned one day ? That's persistence, and always has been since persistance started. Right now there's a glitch concerning the limited special objects that are SUPPOSED to be persistent. But it's nothing to do with what persistence is FOR or what it is ABOUT. Would be nice if dead bodies lay around longer, like they used to.. but they don't .. (for server efficiency I guess?). They don't have time to attract flies these days. -

saw a glowplug in a blue caravan yesterday. It didn't show up unless you stood close to it. -
Just keep logging in the same server, plenty of others will do that too, you'll get to know them. If they are good people you'll work out stuff to do to server hoppers. Or server hoppers just won't bother you that much. - On the other hand, do you really want to find out you're LOCKED to a server with maybe 30+ non-stop @ssholes and nowhere to go?
-
they don't squawk and run for it when you step on them ?

ROFL that will sure strike TERROR & FEAR into the heart of every programmer who EVER sat at a keyboard.. Sure scared the sheet out of me!.. Well I'm sawing my rig to pieces and burying it in the garden right now. -
seems reasonable
-
I know the answer to that. Ask me another easy one.
-
A chicken squawking indicates something got close to it ...
-
that's interesting - you put in a bug report ? - what despawned ? a lot more than one tent, I guess (400 slots) .. But no crash, you went right on playing?
-
we already heard you, thanx
-
we don't say "noobs" on this forum. Hey, is this Saturday?. .. So why don't you get your lazy @ss to WORK and give them a hand, expert ?

there ought to be a difference between full moon and no-moon. Obviously. In a city or open place without artificial light, under a full moon it would be fairly EASY to find your way around and see to a distance. Even in forests this would be possible to some extent(but it can get dark in forests). To have a normal night, even cloudy dark and rainy, that is so dark you cannot AT ALL see railway lines until you hear yourself walking across them .. is not realistic.
-
Drop in on one and ask the crowd ? - My impression is the economy has changed across the map.
-
Doesn't he infect the bottle when he drinks from it ?
-
No, it's not. Stay calm. Be rational. If you can demonstrate that BI acted with deliberate dishonesty to intentionally defraud Steam and clients, show it. - shouting "fan boi" doesn't help your argument, you say yourself you are one and <<have played happily for years and got every penny and more out of the investment>>. So how come you, as a client, made a profit, when the other clients are just ripped-off suckers? .

My first life in DayZ 1.0, death by flying car

those wolves hate zombies, that's for sure. It's a good way to get away from a pack ATM : shut yourself in a house and let them all fight it out. & go easy on cars - who needs them? -
you feeling ok dude? you look off color ...
-
Worse, I confidently expect. PCs are programmable : you are root, you Own the PC. The Xbox is only a window into Microsoft's mind.

some folk have all the fun

ps, Richard - I didn't say "Game should be real time in my opinion - YOU said it.. (just mentioning) xxP
