    Duping is killing the game

Because DUPING is killing the game - players don't go LOOKING for mil loot if they can dupe it. They don't even HOP for mil loot. So why go to mil bases ... or anywhere ?

    Duping is killing the game

does it ? Any item in a stash (car, barrel, buried, tent ) or carried by a player is NOT counted in the "Loot Economy" calculation for respawning items. Any looted item NOT carried by a player or NOT placed in some kind of stash - will despawn in a short time. Any single spawn point that is empty (loot taken) - will respawn loot in a short time.

Xbox Feedback Round - January 2019

not "anybody's" idea , Jake : << At Xbox, we’re committed to bringing gamers more choice in what they play, who they play with and how they play. We’re also equally committed to providing developers with the best platform to create and deliver the best gaming experience on Xbox. Today we’re announcing a new way to play games on Xbox: we’re enabling mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One for select Xbox Insiders in the coming weeks. >> - Jason Ronald, Director of Program Management for Xbox Platform - September 25, 2018 DayZ is on the list https://www.pcworld.com/article/3284348/gaming/report-microsoft-razer-push-to-bring-mouse-and-keyboard-support-to-xbox.html complain to Microsoft

Items are disappearing from my inventory

[off topic, but.. ] Something I proposed a long while ago - WAS that you could hand carry a grenade AFTER taking the pin out, for any length of time - until you keyed the action to throw it - and that if you had an armed grenade in your hand, then either being handcuffed, knocked unconscious, or surrendering, would cause you to drop the live grenade. I thought this would make for interesting gameplay? Bandit standoffs, etc.. But if you forgot you'd armed it and put it in your pocket without putting the pin back - then that would be a mistake

Items are disappearing from my inventory

OK thanks ! - I've been taking care to avoid that inventory placement situation for a while and it's become instinctive - I always run with a good spare area in there - I just didn't even realise dropping items instead of putting them away doesn't happen anymore. <duh> Thanx ! So shouldering a weapon before climbing a ladder was in fact only .. habit .. xxp

Items are disappearing from my inventory

if you have a silenced pistol in your hand (or other object) and you try to put it away or swap it for some other object - if there is no room in your backpack, it will just drop to the ground. Players carrying two rifles have to be careful of this - for instance when they climb a ladder and auto-shoulder their weapon.. if there is a weapon already slung, the one in their hands will drop when they start climbing. NOT claiming that this is what happened - but be aware of objects that might not fit into your pockets or pack. If you pick up a can - it takes up one space where you kept your AK (second gun) - so now when you put your AK away it will drop, there's no room for it in your pack. It's easy to do with 2 rifles, and with any large stuff that "just fits" in your backpack (like silenced pistols for instance) - I've done it. worth noting ?

I have noticed that in this Forum only American schoolkids cite "ad hominem" to defend a specious irrelevance. Is it from your Philosophy 101 ? Exemplum de simia, quae, quando plus ascendit, plus apparent posteriora eius ?

How to get rid of sickness??

I think you catch the cough from drinking infected water - any water not from a pump can do this. Also I think you can catch it from other players, or from drinking from a bottle already used by an infected player. Eating or drinking with bloody hands may have something to do with it (some say). Some players on this forum have said it goes away after a few hours (?) as long as you don't re-infect or cross-infect from other players. Some players say the cough lasts permanently now, since the last patch. Are there any solo players, who have not been in contact with other players - who have caught this cough and either waited it out, or got rid of it? How did you do it? thanx

WOW - What do you SEE in the Browser that freaks you out so much? The Existential Void? - Death, confusion, chaos, cold, night , rain, broken bones, shrieks, blood, horror ?? This is the moment of Truth! - You've got to nerve yourself up to GET PAST THAT BROWSER, dude - it's NOT the worst thing that you will ever face in DayZ, I swear. Think of clicking on the browser as a night combat drop into enemy territory. Sure, it's hell, but that's what you're there for.

    Holy macaroni

<duh> ??? Yes - it's a niche game for specialist minority players. That's cool. No - as a fan of a product you are ALWAYS totally selfish, that's why you are a fan, because YOU like the game. You are NOT EVER a fan because someone else who does not play does NOT like the game. Your argument is ... WEAK ... If you want to add "more content to appeal to a broader audience", just turn DayZ into an easy-play Adult Sex version of Pokemon with PvP, that will pull in the crowds .. <uh> maybe. OR leave DayZ the way it is, a SPECIAL game with minority appeal and a steep learning curve <OMG!> , and meanwhile work on a spinoff for the short time fun players - as BI is doing right now. * [double beanz to Parazite]

  20. Yo! - your Reddit link is to: <<16 tips on how to approach other players >> - which tip don't you like? I like Tip #9 - "ask open ended questions" - Tell me about your relationship with your supervisor. - How do you see your future? - Tell me about the children in this photograph. - What is the purpose of government? I'm def going to use that "What is the purpose of government ?" question on the next player I meet.. That should mess up their reaction time for just long enough to give me an edge. thanx

I agree 100% - I hope we're not misunderstanding each other. well, this dude is .. <duh> .. the lights are on but nobody's home .. reminds me of someone in that series Breaking Bad .. ya know? The DayZ developers think persistence is the number 1 priority. After a long period using their BI designer-specialist tech & soft to design and build a game that slots straight in to PC, they now have to ensure the SAME game comes out of the design servers and slots straight into PC AND XBox. To do this they have stripped back a lot of "mid-level" stuff that went fine straight to PC no prob, but does NOT go easily into Xbox .. They restructure the framework (the mechanisms the player does NOT see) so the GAME can be easily forked at the output end. Somewhere in this process (I don't know why or where or how it is connected) they have run into a big persistence problem .. in fact several probably-related persistence problems. While they are sorting this - which is for THEM a Total Pisser, a REALLY unfortunate thing, a whole set of sleepless nights, way too much coffee, nightmares, stress, nervous breakdowns, heroic acts, nobility, intense work, group loyalty, unsung genius and just bloody hours of coding and testing - they MUST also make sure there is SOME stuff to PLAY in the game. BUT OBVIOUSLY solid reliable persistence is the Number One objective. After that is SORTED the Devs can bring back ALL KINDS of stuff that PC players have already seen .. Plus new stuff. And then spend ALL their time chasing down individual glitches and getting basebuilding up to speed, etc.. Having to deal with stuff like spawn distribution, guns jamming, and Xbox duping is just ATM holding them up from the MAIN task.

Content is #1 Priority, Not Persistence.

Are you sure about this ? - you have SOLVED the persistence problem and it has NOTHING to do with items in the game or interactions with items, or number of items, or types of items, or spawning? You are 100% certain ?

    Coughing / Sneezing Epidemic

In a survival situation to cure a cold you can always ignore it, catch pneumonia and die .. But at present in DayZ a good idea would be to stay well away from anyone with a cold, don't share anything with them, don't drink from their bottles - ya know?. Don't drink dirty water? A group of folk might just go on reinfecting each other forever? If anyone comes into camp and coughs, just shoot them, leave them there and move camp. DONT take their stuff or eat the body. Prevention beats cure.
