    Server hotfix: Data Check failed

No they don't listen to shit, maybe you should give up shouting shit and they'll listen to you. READ the replies to your posts right here and NOTICE the SOLUTION. Do you think you can do that? Giver it a try. Look up the word "replicate" then tell the devs EXACTLY how to replicate the issue. Give an unmistakable example that you can REPLICATE yourself. = CHECK IT = If the devs can't replicate it, then either you can't EXPLAIN it or you got it WRONG. Dude, this is not rocket science.

    New night cycle time!

no - it is not It was solved on PC every tile a new hopping scam version turned up.. And next time (if) another new one turns up it will be solved as soon as the devs have it pinned down . On PC this is how it has been, and this is how it is. Now there is a DIFFERENT technical problem for BI devs: PC DayZ uses UDP on the standard internet network. (You can try to mess with the game but not with the network) - But Xbox has it's own "private network". You can manipulate the Xbox network to pull scams that are NOT possible on PC. It is a weakness of the Xbox private net setup. DayZ will incorporate INTO THE DAYZ GAME; devices that prevent Xbox players from moving fast between servers. & prevent ways of dropping straight out of one game and into another, or coming back quickly to the same server. These will be eliminated by IN-GAME countdowns & verification that make it NOT worthwhile to use the Xbox duping techniques. You might say those ingame enforced BI software "rules" are a pain in the neck because you are not a duper - but if YOU want to eliminate dupers, that's the way to go. Decide for yourselves the way you want to go. Note : DayZ is not a game designed for you to have a quick game - drop in and play for five or 10 mins.. It is NOT one of THOSE games - Normally its a game you'll spend half an evening or more, continuous, on one server. If you can't deal with that, then play something else. There are PLENTY of USA and ASIA mega-financed standard five-minute easy-to-play games around. There are NOT a lot of European games companies (of any size). There are about ZERO European MEGA games companies doing big-selling "easy to join easy to play easy to leave, now buy the DLC, get bored, buy another game, Version VI, same game pay again" - stuff. you want a "real immersion game" or "cheap fast fun" ? I say this because a SERIOUSLY longer log out timer is part of the answer (Hey! - Can you <kids> wait ONE minute to log out .. 60 seconds? Is that a real LONG time? Can't stand that?) - it will TEACH you to find a GOOD safe place to log out in this DANGEROUS SURVIVAL GAME - and wow IMAGINE if you are trapped in a building you'll just have to fight it out or surrender or make a break.. like IRL ! .. is that BAD? .. You want "immersion" ? And add a REAL login timer (just enough time to check the central hive) THESE - together with one or two other automatic player overview ingame checks - will reduce access to Xbox duping a lot. Cut off the dupers from their means of duping. Why check the central hive when you log in? OK .. For instance, if every mil equipment - or let's just start with guns - If each one had a unique SERIAL NUMBER when it was generated (spawned) - AND all Xbox players are on the public hive, so all those serial numbers are stored in ONE location (the same duped weapon can't be stored twice on different "private hives" because Xbox don't have any) .. and technically a serial number is only a couple of bytes added to the weapon spawn description, it takes no server time to run a check of all your weapons when you log in. They are all in one database. So spotting duplicated serial numbers is EASY. If you dupe a weaponn it has the same serial number as another weapon already registered on the same public hive.. and both guns are taken out of play - they despawn. End of story. Deal with that, dupers.

    Server hotfix: Data Check failed

For ANYONE who doesn't know - In your comment here in a thread, if you type @ and then add the name of anyone - like someone from Staff for instance - After you type @ and start writing the name, you get a dropdown choice list. Click on their name there & it comes out in a blue square in your text (you've seen them already) - Then that person will def come read your message to see what it's about. So no chance of it being missed. Like if I type my own name < pilgrim* > but I start with @ I get @pilgrim* nice And you can message anyone , too. or send a report to the Feedback Tracker at feedback.bistudio.com

    New night cycle time!

That's true. - It seems to me the infected can detect a player (they can SEE you) just as far away at night as in the day. This means that when I'm crouched stealthing in the day, I can SEE the zomb and tell just about what distance they will detect me (I see they kind of hesitate when I'm just inside their limit, and I can pretty often back away out of their range, if I want to) - but at night I OFTEN can't see that far - so THEY detect me before they are inside MY visual range.. I might be wrong about this CONSTANT detection range - but that's how it seems to me, after experimenting - they have the same detection distance day or night - it's ONLY ME that has a crap short detection distance at night. THEY can see just fine. In the old DayZ vanilla Mod for PC, you could CRAWL past an infected only about 7-10 feet away, and they often would often not notice you. THAT was great.. So am I wrong about this - or do the zombs really have the same detection range day or night ?

    Scope ignores IronsightsExcludingOptics

thanks for the above - that was exactly the question I asked meanwhile .. Edit : [ scratch the advice I left here on the iron sight/scope branch decision and how to find it in the Earlier version of DayZ Vanilla, before the last update <and include that old version mechanic as if it were one of your Mods> - as you point out, you "know what you're doing"] Not much point in me helping you out. Put In A Bug Report - did I mention that using iron sights "you'll still SEE the scope above your camera viewpoint because it is still attached to the object" - yes I said that. You may know what you're doing but you don't know what you're reading Think of it as the FUN of modding
  14. Practice, practice, continual practice ! .. do it, do it.. perfect it .. until it becomes second nature. Muscle memory !
  15. pilgrim*

    Scope ignores IronsightsExcludingOptics

How did THAT work in the game = which keys ?? and what ACTIONS.?? - When you raise the rifle to your eye [AIM] you see EITHER across the iron sights/front post OR you see through the Scope - You can't do both with one keypress. But you say there WERE two options (different keystrokes) that permitted EITHER ? < even IRL it's a choice you just really HAVE to make when you shoot. I've tried: aiming with both together don't work good >.. Seriously - If you want to look down iron sights in DayZ, take your scope off.. it's kind of simple & low-tech but it works. Or if you want to be HOT - use a script that takes keypress X and tells your [AIM] sequence the gun has NO SCOPE [so you don't call that whole optic effect & zoom] you go straight to standard ironsight view - then you'll only get iron sight view - but you'll still SEE the scope above your camera viewpoint because it is still attached to the object, when you look down the iron sights. For key toggle use same method as Auto / Semi-Auto - you don't need a visible marker, because you just have to look down the rifle to see which you have toggled.

    duplicate items

@ImpulZ Message your comment about Xbox duping to him, Wellington. thanx. That will be helpful. Just about totally everyone on Xbox knows already, but IMO it's not good policy to say it in the open forum. DayZ team is dealing with it, we know. They sorted each duping problem on PC, every time one came up. And if a new one shows up they will deal with it. Same will happen with Xbox, it needs a different approach because it's specifically an Xbox-software design related problem.

    How was your Day(Z)?

Oh, I KNOW, dude.. don't mistake me, I KNOW they don't function.. after 3+ years carrying any rifle scope I come across - just as a convenient hand-held way of checking out the area - I definitely KNOW that all that does NOT work.. the first time my binocs would NOT come close to my eyes, I was (as you might say) "amazed and dissatisfied and unhappy" p.s - on the subject of "actions" - I can't now find any way to THROW stuff I'm holding, anywhere in the PC keyboard options (or controller either) - am I missing it, or is IT missing ? - I used to chuck objects off hunting stands, or off rocks into the sea (for various reasons ..ya know.. ).. or throw stones - and now I cant find any way to do that action. What am I missing? For a plus, at least now I can put all my movement & top action options on the numeric keypad (I'm left handed, like @eno I think) - this is a GOOD thing - that numeric pad AND the Mouse now work great together, they give me 98% of what I need. It's just how to throw things that I cant figure. - Anyone?

    How was your Day(Z)?

well.. EXACTLY ... what is that about - really, wtf ? Good tale though beanz

    Rain is back

You can start a fire easily by cutting down bushes (only) not trees, and breaking the long stick you get into short sticks. Get plenty of them, pile them under a LARGE deciduous tree nearby .. then with knife cut TWO barks from a tree. One bark plus one stick = Fire Stick, to start fire. Combine short sticks and one bark together to craft fireplace. then start the fire with your firestick. Sit close enough to get warm and begin to dry, too close you will burn and "may" damage clothes (dont know about damage? is that still in?) To start a fire like this in the rain you MUST make the "fireplace" under the shelter of a tree, close against the bole of a standing tree, otherwise you cannot light it because of the rain. If you are too close to the tree or too far out from the shelter of the tree, move the fireplace. All this info may be old - it was in the game, it will be in the game, don't know if <under the shelter of a tree> is in game NOW. (??) But starting the fire as I say definitely works, now. Firestick, bark, short sticks. If you keep a long stick you can also spike 1 meat or 2 vegetable on it (pepper?) and roast it . (- In fact it dont make no difference right now, you won't get sick from eating raw meat, you don't get extra energy from eating cooked food ... but its fun & practice (I guess). It is a hassle starting a simple fire the first time, but when you've done it once, then next time it's easy. So if you haven't tried yet, it's worth learning. If you want a bigger fire cut a tree down (instead of bushes) and put logs on.. but they don't in FACT burn much longer than sticks. Point about taking your gear off and dropping it = is not the safest - but is definitely the quickest And well .. it rains a lot on PC - I mainly play PC for reasons I'm not going into on an Xbox forum. I have both DayZ versions. .. and I've read the title of this Xbox thread correctly ... ?? .. rain on xbox ?? ask @aux7 - he says you'll be soaked from the 27th .. next week is the start of the 'temperate climate' (lol) British players will adapt Fine. (note: an emergency heat pack can save your life too, just about but won't dry you out - and hell, a matchbox makes life easy, right? ) have fun happy campers

    Rain is back

Check back through the comments over the last 5 years - will only take you a minute and it's heaps of FUN if you can read. .. Been a lot of talk about PONCHOS (very-very-very easy to find that word if you want to Join In anywhere ) and PLENTY about layers of clothes for different reasons. But for a stopgap (or planning ahead) it aint HARD to take a raincoat out of your backpack IF you have RAIN ( I guess it's a PC thing, mainly ?? ). After a year or two you pick up the habits and learn how to stay dry. Also a new raincoat stands out at a distance, but a worn yellow raincoat is difficult to see in trees and undergrowth, and blends in well - it's as good as camo.
