  1. OK, there are some very good points against voice always on - It was just an Idea that came to mind, everytime I see streams (or when it happenes to myself) when people meet others and act like they are friendly, but actually wnat to rob/kill them AND secretly communicate with their friends over TS - and that while being right next to each other and the strangers. - It's just not realistic. But yeah, kids and other family members who talk in the background, or just opening a pack of chips would be pretty annoying too... BTW, I did read the http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/186014-list-of-already-existing-suggestions/ - there was nowhere mentioned any of what I said ;)
  2. First of all, I do know the Engine is being totally redone - also the sound engine. This is actually a good thing, because the devs can add great new features from the beginning. Like this one: I just recently found this ingame voice chat demonstration, and think DayZ would HUGELY benefit from it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTkdHJsdnI4&feature=youtu.be&t=12m41s Additionally to that, I would actually say, that the voice chat should always be on in DayZ... why? - because this is a survival simulation and not a fps shooter - Sond is a very important thing in this game, be it foot steps, breath sounds, grunting zombies, falling trees, opening doors, or a group of players plotting an ambush. - So the quality of each of these should be greatly improved. [OT: also I hate that tunder isn't actually directional - it's very unsettling when you hear tunder, turn around and it's still in the same ear haha] That being said, I want to point out once more, that sound is acutally much more important in a game like this, than graphics are (however, I'd still love to see awesome graphics in this game) so, please don't treat the sound engine as a necessary evil, but as an important part of the game with a huge influence on immersion.

    Realistic looting and more

First off, I think there sould be containers (closets, cupboards, safes,...), and not just stuff lying around on the floor. I think Items shouldn't respawn. - It would be much more realistic, if the shelfes in supermarkets, homes and such were full of food/stuff in the beginning, and only become less, if players take them. Additionally there should be more plants/animals (I know they're comming) and the possibility to grow your own vegetables and keep pigs or chicken, when you have built a house. - that's what in reality would happen in such a scenario. Also there shouldn't weapons just be lying around, but they should be mostly locked away (like most of them are in reality - especially in military bases) and you need to find a key, pick the lock, or shoot it open. I don't know if the engine can handle that many Items as it would have to, but for the sake of realism, I don't think stuff should spawn/despawn - except for plants and animals - they reproduce, but I've never seen two cans of beans becomming three, over time ;) Also I'd like to see custom base building (like in Rust) not just some types of shelters you can put somewhere. Last but not lease, and I can't stress this enough - This game should be about surviving the zombie-appocalypse, not shooting as many people as possible. I'd really like to see some of these KOS-kiddies shoot a mosin and hit a target in only 100 meters in real life. - it's not as easy as you might think. - Same with the m4 and all other weapons - you can't just pick it up and shoot distant targets without training. - So I think there sould be usage-depending skills. - first time you load a mosin, some bullets get wedged and it takes you 30sec in average - After a hundret times it only takes you 5sec. The first times you shoot, you can't hold the weapon steady, the recoil has more effect and it takes you longer to cock. ok that's all I got for now ;)

    Gun Ideas

I'd love to see the Steyr STG-77 (also known as Steyr AUG) - It's the most reliable, accurate, sturdy and low-maintenance weapon I've ever seen and used (in its class)... Also I want crossbows and Bows and arrows .. self-made and professional.

    Battleye?!?

OK, maybe I do worry too much... maybe I'll even contact Battleye to to dispell my concerns ;) It's just like the time I got a speeding ticket, from a place I've never been, at a time I was at work, and noone wanted to tell me why I got it - it took me ages to prove it couldn't have been me who was speeding there. What I want to say is, no system is foolproof, no matter how much energy is put into it.
  6. I like the 4th wall suggestion - though I would want it to be less "static" (persons/zombies just popping up) also it would be cool if there was some blur added to the areas you can't see..
  7. In my, more or less, 100 hours of playing, I can proudly declare, that I have not killed any player yet :) And I try to keep it that way. But I guess I have killed about 70/80 zombies (there should be a counter) - You will likely find me in Electro, Cherno or the tall buildings to the close north, on some rooftop sniping zombies that follow fresh-spawns (or just stand there)

    Battleye?!?

I know my questions might sound suspicious. - You can suspect me of being a hacker or something if you want to ;) (I never understood why they are called "trainers" though - a trainer/coach should help you get better, not work for you) actually, I don't even know what hackers do - Is it like you can't die or have endless ammo, - I find it hard to beliefe that's possible, because, as far as I know everything (loot, health) is basically computerized by the servers!? All I can say is I am not. - I read a lot of threads on this topic to prevent myself being a victim of players who use such programs, so I am somewhat familiar with the terminology. Also I had friends in school who always used to brag about their "glorious" hack-attempts. That was almost 7 years ago, and I figured there might not have changed too much in that time. The only games I occasionally cheat, are offline games, which encourage you to - like Elder Scrolls or Fallout (through console commands) OK but that's off-topic Oh, I didn't know it's a bad idea to ask such a question on the forum... I was just curious what's up with all that. All I know about Battleye, is what I've read in forums. And Yes - many threads do sound very hypocritical, and the only thing I was concerned about were the many in-game messages, about players being kicked. So, as long as I don't have any other programs running than DayZ and Steam, There's no danger of being kicked by accident or a game-bug?! - good to know Thanks anyway - You can delete this thread If you think its cheat-encouraging. - Which I don't want it to be!

    Battleye?!?

OK, me being totally new to the world of MMOs and DayZ (about 100h), I have never heared of this (or any other) anti-cheat-engine, and I have my concernes... 1. What does it exactly do? - does it scan my entire PC to search for programs it considers a trainer or something?! Or does it look if only the game itself was altered? 2. how safe is it? - what information about me does battleye gather? - how is it used? 3. How failsafe is it (in DayZ)? - I ask this, because ingame literary every 5 to 10 minutes the game says "player x was kicked by battleye" and I can't beliefe there's so many people trying to cheat... also theres many threads out there where player are complaining about being banned unrightful. Which are mostly very hypocritical... 4. What happens if you get banned? - I also heared Battleye doesn't even justify their decisions to ban someone, they just tell you to buy the game again. - Also I heared, your account then is blocked FOREVER with no chance of recovery. 5. Is it safe to play this game (in this aspect), considered it's an early alpha? - I don't want to have to buy the game again, just because of a bug... I hope you can tell me my concerns are unnecessary ;) Edit: I do approve of the use of anti-cheat software, to enhance the gameplay-experience and prevent cheating. As a matter of fact, I encourage Battleye so improve their software, and make games more enjoyable for honest players. (I was just concerned because the game is Alpha and buggy)

    Polaroid Cameras

    I like the idea.

    Know your friends

That's hat we already do... but with the current amount/variety of clothing in this game, it's very likely to encounter someone else wearing the almost exact same gear as yourself. - maybe later - when there's is more different clothing, this won't be an issue any more...

Remove crosshair for all non-melee weapons

I thought the same thing - When looting is improved, just remove the dot.

    Know your friends

OK, another short suggestion. I am very often having trouble to distinguish between members of the group I am traveling with, and others. This often results in problems you wouldn't have in real life (because normally you can easily recognize a friend from far). Such as mistaking an enemy/bandit for a companion and getting shot right in the face at no notice. Or the opposite - thinking you have a bandit in front of you when it's really just your friend who changed his pants... Me and a friend once thought we were followed by someone. Well, what can I say - I got shot by my friend, who thought he'd saved my life, turns out there was noone else around... I'd be really pissed if it hadn't been that funny lol... Me:"shoot, he's aiming at me" bang - friend: "got him", me: "Yeah, but he got me too" took us a minute to figure out what was happening. So, I was thinking, that it would be really helpful to be able to lable friends as such when they are within idk 20m. like a triangle over their heads, that only I can see. Yes it is not realistic to have a marker floating over sbd's head, but in real life it's actually easy to recognize a friend. When I was in the military I was able to distinguish between my fellow soldiers even when they had their faces masked... Ok, that's it - let me know what you think
  14. And NO I don't mean stuff like "follow this marker and kill x", but "quests" without quest-givers, markers, stages, rewards or anything alike. Quests may be the wrong term anyway, more like opportunities... I have already read somewhere that there should be power-plants which you can repair and bring back power to certain areas for a time - I love this Idea. not only will there be light at night, but also you can access electromechanical doors, which were inaccessible before, gas-stations work again and you can access gas-tanks that are linked to the pumps so you can refill your car quickly. Or there's a plane in a hangar, and the only way to open the door is with elecricity. Maybe you can revive broadcast stations and play some music on a certain frequency, or anoy everyone (who has a radio) with your boring childhood-stories ;) Also, how about a top-secret underground biological testing facility where you can find, or -even better - manufacture zombie-antidote, so you can't get the virus any more (oh - yes, I think you should be able to become a zombie) Stuff like this should be implemented (maybe you can even get achievements for it) I got to go now, but I really think there should be a treat where all such "quests" are put together and be tried to be linked...

    two simple KOS resolutions

@VCTRious, I didn't know there was such a system in the mod... but it sounds good. So, if you kill a hero, or a nobody, you'll become a bandit, and if you kill a bandid you'll become a hero!?
