Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)
Dearth Of Sanity replied to scottishrebel's topic in Troubleshooting
Same here. I was hoping the update fixed this after I didn't play for like a week. But as soon as my 4 friends appeared in my sight - desync got up to 100.000. I walked out of town with them and they guided me to the airfield because I didn't see them anymore. The desync stayed the whole time. When I started the game later and met with two of them again with firewall and Bitdefender turned off. There were no issues with the desync but we just played a few minutes. Don't know how long it would've last. We all had that lunch and ammo boxes and medibags as well but didn't want to throw them away to test if the desync disappeared^^ -

Locked doors, looting zombies and how it's connected
Dearth Of Sanity replied to Dearth Of Sanity's topic in Suggestions
It's such a small thing finding and killing a zombie So I wouldn't call it quest. I'm not thinking about great missions and a lot of travelling and doing quests. I'd like to add some tasks lest looting is a run in, grab everything and run out - job... -
I was wondering why the doors - even the high level secured ones at the military and police stations - are opened?! Arsenals and most of private houses would be locked I think. So I thought about the possibility of breaking in like some sort of lockpicking or that "breaking a window with a stone" - thing ;) Furthermore there could be "special" zombies like police officers or soldiers around the airfields who have the chance of dropping some keys when you loot them. (This would require the possibility of looting zombies of course) <_< The keys would open prisons, high secured arsenals which contain pristine weapons and enough ammo and mags, just like the cuffkeys open every handcuff. I guess this would be more realistic, more challanging and fun to achieve something to get those powerful weapons.

Personalization of the character
Dearth Of Sanity replied to Dearth Of Sanity's topic in Suggestions
That's a great idea I would like having some sort of diary :P -
Epic! If true or not - this would really be a horribly great explanation for what's going on in DayZ!

I would like to see an option to personalize your standard character over the time. I'm thinking of something like tags on your clothes, scars, stuff in your hair, piercings etc. that you can earn while playing the game. Or maybe some achievements like reviving someone with the defibrilator and getting a badge for it so other players can recognize you and see what you've been through on your adventure. Also it would be great to have more options to create your standard character in the beginning. But I think you're working on that or thinking of it already. ;) Anyway great work! Keep it going

Great! I would've mentioned this if you had not. I love the idea of building up a town and protecting it against zombie migration and bandits! Of course you'd need a lot of players and ressources to realize that, but just this would improve the community very much in a very good way! You would need the others so you'd think twice before killing another player to get his loot or avoiding any confrontation with them. Also it could be a great way to help new and inexperienced players to survive the first days. They could work for the wealth of the town and could get food, supplies and safety in return. I would also really like an ability system. That you could learn and improve your abilities like running, aiming or resisting sicknesses by practising it a lot or reading books about it ingame. (That would make the books more useful than they are now ;) ) Abilities that won't get lost if you die. Little advatages that keep your motivation but not making you superior or overpowered compared to beginners. Anyway great work so far! Keep it going
