  1. Here's a video Jackfrags made a while ago, his budget for a cheap gaming pc was 300 pounds. If your budget is 400 pounds, you could upgrade the CPU and graphics card from this build a little, and have a respectable machine, if you choose not to just bootcamp your existing hardware. Be aware, this will require you to assemble it yourself, but YouTube has plenty of tutorial videos on how to build a pc (and if you're building a new one, you can use the Mac to watch the videos so you're not left trying to remember what goes where).

    Wooden sticks inside cities?

Seconding this, I am in hour 6 of hunting for sticks. Zeleno -> military base -> NWAF -> Stary -> Novy -> (server restart) Novy -> Factory -> Berezino -> Gorka -> Stary -> Novy -> Rogovo, still no sticks, have run past numerous fallen trees. You've already done berries from bushes, please allow sticks from fallen trees, makes no sense the improvised backpack is harder to acquire than every other backpack (seen numerous mountain, school briefcase, Taloon, and a Hunting backpack, no sticks).

    Has there been an update?

Rocket doesn't work directly on the mod anymore, it's the standalone.
  4. Xarg

Now I know why they call him 'Rocket'

So you're telling me, that only Rocket is smart enough to say something like "Durr something is broken maybe we should fix it", and the rest of the dev team otherwise sits around like semi-functional automatons that do nothing without receiving clear, concise verbal instruction from Rocket? That if Rocket felt he had to leave before things were done, and wrote down a list of stuff he wanted in before they moved to Beta, that it wouldn't be done because Daddy Rocket wouldn't be there to hold the team's hands through the process of getting up in the morning and tying their own shoelaces?Holy shit dude, what's your grudge against everyone working at BI that isn't Rocket?
  5. Losing colour = blood loss, losing sharpness = health loss. You can remove the blurriness permanently by turning Post Processing off, but be aware you would be effectively turning off your health meter by doing so.
  6. Greetings new player! The link I believe SoulFirez was after, is probably this one, by TMW Merino His channel has a lot of helpful videos about medical, health and healing in DayZ, should be just what you need to keep yourself healthy out there.

    I think I need blood - need help/advice

Despite playing hundreds of hours of the mod, the new hunger and thirst mechanics caught me off guard badly, would second Torinx' advice to watch all of Merino's videos, they're well presented and highly informative (as far as food/water/health/medicine goes, as they are the focus of the videos) and should be a must-watch for all new players, IMO.

    I think I need blood - need help/advice

Over time yes, if your vision isn't very gray at all it sounds like you are regenerating blood, when that is finished a "healing" status will appear on your inventory screen, which is when your blood + water + food is regenerating health, when that's done the blur will be gone and you'll have a "healthy" status instead of "healing"

Blurry vision is health damage, you need to eat and drink enough for your body to regenerate your missing blood, then the food/water/blood will regenerate missing health. If you've got any gray in the vision you're missing blood as well as health. That's Merino's video explaining how it all works, but it sounds to me like you just need to eat a like a pig for a while, and stay well hydrated, or find someone to give you a saline IV.
  10. Love the new video! I see you made a brief mention of severe food poisoning, listing berries as a cause for it, I imagine you'll be breaking up the sickness video into 3-4 videos (light, medium, severe food, and chemical poisonings)? Can't wait to see how brutal severe food poisoning is, and any cures/mitigations that might work, especially when I ponder whether or not we'll be able to harvest fruit off the orchard south of Berezino.. Keep up the good work :)

    Why ARMA Engine?

Could you add something constructive, like actually defining what "works properly" even means in the context you're using it in, instead of just repeating the same valueless statement over and over?

    20 Plus Million Dollars Later...

This thread is literally unbelievable. I don't know what rocks some of the people in this thread crawled out from under, but it'd be nice if they crawled back under them. Honestly, so they made $20+ million? So what? Some people just seem to assume that there is a literal army of people who are 1. Unemployed (able to take a job contract straight away), 2. Unattached (have no family to get in the way of endless crunch time), 3. Willing to move to the Czech Republic to work and live during production (like rocket, matt and hicks and senchi had to do, no doubt most of the rest of the team who werent already with BIS as well), and 4. RV engine experts who's code will actually be useful (and prompt, because only noob developers have to actually trial and test code right?) If this literal army of people existed, why isn't BIS flooded with job applications and hiring 500 people tomorrow? Oh right, because this army doesn't exist, and you're being naive fools who think spending 20 million hiring people will somehow bring out DayZ beta tomorrow, and full release next week. Not going to happen. I wonder if you people think 9 women can make a baby in 1 month if you just throw more money at it, because 1 woman making a baby in 9 months is horribly lazy and unprofessional. Oh and if 4 days of holiday is all you get, try moving out of your third world nation/banana republic or get a real job that values you, instead of complaining that rocket is away from work for 2-3 weeks for probably the first time in over a year (that isn't for Everest), the man has a family too, you know. This was not the first post I wanted to make here, but this thread broke me. Back to wandering the north looking for things to report in the bugtracker, like the rest of you SHOULD be doing, instead of whining we don't have cars and AS50's yet.
