Tell your most painful DayZ stories. I'll start: I was in the NEAF after a server reset. I had an sks and I was just intending on gearing up in hardcore. There are 2 other people on the server besides myself and the airfield is unlooted. All of the sudden I'm desyncing so hard that I can't pull anything out, so instead, I lay down where I am (the ATC tower 3rd floor). Now I hear the sound of a loading M4 and/or an FNX. "fuck, I hear a server hopper" I proclaim to my friend on teamspeak. When I can finally pull out my sks, I can see that this guy just loaded in. Based off of what I heard when he loaded in, he was below me or on the top of the ATC tower. When he came in, everyone in the server hit 100k desync and couldn't do anything. He managed to climb a ladder (which I would've heard) or up the stairs directly in front of me (which I would've seen). I had my back to the outside of the ATC tower, and when I could finally pull out my gun and the desync was gone, the motherfucker was standing right behind me with an M4. I turned my head slightly enough so that he wouldn't notice it. Knowing that there was no way of winning the situation: I said "I'm friendly" (which is clearly bullshit because server hoppers deserve to die in a fucking hole) and took about 60 rounds in the back. The best part was, I only died about 30 rounds in though, due to the retard's lack of accuracy. So when this asshole decided to join the server, he lagged everyone out putting himself at a great advantage.

It makes sense?

I do have issues with not hearing bullets sometimes- this may have something to do with the way I'm facing based off of where the shot came from.

Lol. Mosin recoil is awful now. Not to mention that the mosin at short range is absolutely awful.

My latest experience with a hacker was a 3v2 at Elektro. Me and 2 others were in a 2 story house (nothing except a window on 2nd floor) and all of the sudden a mosin bullet flies into the wall next to me. Turns out a sniper is looking right at us, he doesn't move for the entire time. His buddy with an sks advanced on our position. We saw him behind some house and I shot at him because he glitched through a wall, however, none of my shots appeared to hit him. 3 seconds later he disappeared. While we had eyes on all sides of the house, he somehow managed to cross the road my friend was looking directly at without being seen. I spot him behind our house and he ducks behind a green house- now he's got the sniper covering his back. He approached our house until about 10 meters and ducked behind a shed. Since I'm looking right at this shed, I can see if he moves, which he doesn't. My friend flanks around that position to get a shot on the sniper up hay-bale hill and the guy with the sks "appears out of nowhere" and pops my friend before he could even say anything. 1. I didn't hear his shots at all. 2. This guy has "disappeared and reappeared" three times at this point. 2 of us are left in this house, I decide to move out to the school because my friend was shot from the hotel's front door. It's been 15 seconds since I got from the house to the school and what happens? I'm running through the school when he appears behind a dumpster right outside of it towards the supermarket. "you are dead" my last friend logged, he didn't want to deal with some hacking bullshit.

Who said anything about field repair?

"not reliable" pfft. maybe in 'nam it wasn't but it's perfectly reliable now. all it needs is weapon cleaning kit every now and then.

As if it's not underpowered enough.

What I meant is that if you're going to be spotted, it's most likely going to because you're moving. Almost always the reason something catches your eye is because it moves.

On the first shot... The first shot probably won't kill the guy anyway - not to mention if you're looking for accuracy better than the sks, the mosin or b95 are better choices.

The Mosin is my weapon of choice - however I will GLADLY take a B95 or an SKS. The truth is I'm a pretty good sniper and I will probably kill people before I see them, but; I love the interaction between me and other players. The B95 is a beautiful weapon provided you hit your shots and the SKS is almost point and click. Both will kill with two well-placed shots. I think the M4 is utter shit.

Deleting system 32 works pretty well - it gives you more control over the game because it deletes certain multiplayer files.

I will respectfully disagree with that - if we're being "realistic" here... You would recognize a voice if you heard it a second time.
