I totally agree with your logic but it is a disadvantage when other people can see you at 700 meters and you can't even see yourself.

If you couldn't tell from my ... profile picture? I'm a huge fan of the Mosin. If you play tactically at all you should be able to kill anyone as long as you can hit a moving target at 500 meters. My 2 cents for the Mosin are listed below. 1. AIM FOR UPPER BODY OR ABOVE. You can and will kill anyone with this upper body shot - I've stalked bandit groups while they sprayed up the coastline with M4's and the M4's can actually shoot quite a distance. Don't for the love of god shoot them in the leg, giving them time to go prone and blow your face off. 2. Make sure your long range scope is worn or above, otherwise you may miss some crucial shots. The wear level may not affect the accuracy but I think it does. 3. Personally, I'm just fine getting into CQ engagements with the Mosin as long as it's only one person. If you can hit the first shot, they won't pose a threat. If you can, find an FNX for CQ, it's probably more reliable. 4. DO NOT RELOAD WHILE PRONE. Whether this bug exists still, I know not, but to my knowledge reloading the Mosin while prone will put you in an incredibly annoying glitchy animation that makes you spaz out on the ground as if you're having a seizure. This glitch has killed me in a firefight. 5. If you can, grab the PU scope. I find that the PU scope actually does some justice and it works well in firefights in closer ranges.

Yep, not patched to my knowledge - it's not really a glitch either unless you log with both guns.

I think that we should get big pillows for muffling the screams of the innocent.

If I could add my two cents, I'd say use better cover while sniping. I've actually killed someone where you were on that rooftop - never go to the top of the roof, personally I prefer the first or second set of windows down. Nice video!

I think you're right where I logged when you took these pictures - I had just tracked some bandits up to the ship and took them out from the ridge you're standing on.

I love when bandits attack me, it gives me a target to test my mosin on. There's nothing better than putting a bullet in a bandit's head from 700 meters away and watching his buddies freak out, running in each direction.

I didn't even have the mod and it takes me 30-45 minutes tops to go anywhere I want in the map. Be patient or uninstall, nub.

I'm coming from the NW Airfield after a huge firefight - some group is after me and my M4 is out of ammo. I head East because I figured, let these nubs try and take me in Devil's Castle. These guys are inaccurate as stormtroopers, they're hitting the ground by me 8 meters away. By the time I make it to the castle, I can't see them anymore. I figured there might be something in the area because I'd seen that there was often some decent loot to grab in some DayZ mod videos. A can of sardines. Is there normally such a lack of supplies in these castles? Or did I just get unlucky and find everything looted?

Was fully geared, heading to Elektro - 6 coupled STANAGS and the best M4 I've ever had. See massive group torturing a naked bambi. I pull out my magnum and unload into 3 guys - 2 bullets each because I had to aim for the nipples. These fully armed twatwaffles all spaz out, pull out their guns and look around frantically for the fartnugget that just took out a third of their group. They actually ended up killing each other due to miscom and I clean up the last waffle of twat with my M4. When I get back to the first guys I killed, I notice the bambi escaped. Hmph. I turn around to the sound of an agro'd Z and get blasted in the face by a naked bambi. FML

Confession thread? I'm down. I was pinned down from the fire of two bandits, both with M4's. A guy with a Mosin sniped them and told me I could come out. I blew his face off with my magnum, looted him and used his M4 to kill some Z's.

A couple of my friends have coined the term for this bug you speak of as "rubber banding". It's happened to me and my pals while we sprint (fists up).

So I spilled beans all over my tiger and now DayZ doesn't want to configure my video tweets.

I'm on my way to the military base nearby Stary Sobor and under the NW airfield and it's pitch black. I have brightness and gamma turned all of the way up and as I enter the base, the only thing I can make out is some building. Magnum drawn, I open the door to the building (which happens to be barracks) and crawl into the rooms. Not much is in there but just as I leave the last room some guy walks in and shoots all 6 shots of his magnum at me. They all miss - I figure he must've just been a little rattled. He ran outside and I type, "I'm friendly no need to shoot." I've moved myself into a room in the barracks and awaited his reply. He replied by shooting me through the window. You are dead. Moral of the lesson, trust nobody who doesn't say anything and if they shoot at you, blow their head off.

Hey guys, I finally managed my way to the NW airfield and there are only handguns here. Is that the norm, and if so - where can I find some bigger guns?

Well, I'm a total noob and I keep getting killed by well-geared bandits while I'm unarmed. A couple lives ago, I had finally found myself food, a weapon and a couple other items that a noob like me would love. This is by far the furthest progress I had made so far in Day-Z. I'm in some town on the coast in a building when I see two armed bandits approach. They spot me almost instantly and shoot, almost hitting me. I sprinted out of the back of the house towards some trees. I hear more gun shots further off - the bandits are right on the railroad tracks. The bullets stop and I look back to where the bandits were, one is either unconscious or dead (I can't tell the difference because I suck). I watch as a bunch of zombies start running into the woods. By now I've figured out that the person who shot the 2nd bandit was in the woods where I was running. I run back towards the dead bandit and pick up his pistol and ammo. At this point I hear more gunshots, presumably from his bandit-buddy and I take off down the coastal road. I get to the next town safely and enter some sort of fire station-like building with four stories. I get to the top and find a chest holster. Just as I start walking back down the ladder, I glitch through some wall falling 3-4 stories to my death. Even worse, my body glitches its way into the ground somehow so that when I go back to where I fell, I can't even get the gear back.
