Regarding recent cheat accusations [Video for analysis]
Wyrmgol replied to simonhedin's topic in General Discussion
Looked to me like he could see you through the house as if he had walls turned off. When he first starts shooting at you from behind you, it was like he didn't know the wall was there. It could also be that he was just trying to flush you out though. Plus, I didn't hear him reload. There is a lot of suspicious stuff here but I don't think it's definite proof. If I had to guess, I'd say cheating. -
You guys keep pitching it wrong. Making it seem more hardcore than regular is just scaring off the very people most likely to want to play there. Tell them the truth and more people will play there: For the friendlies: 1 - Less people can spot you = less KOS so you'll die less 2 - You will spot less people = you will fail at less gunfights and thus die less 3 - Once you realize 1+2, you will start running in straight lines across fields like the other friendlies on the server which will lead to you running into eachother. Now you can talk and start playing the gathering sim you have been yearning for in relative safety since you'll get spotted less For the bullies: 1 - Look at all these friendlies running around in straight lines across fields 2 - Look at all these firendlies with a false sense of safety since you can't spot them around walls any more 3 - Less self awareness/angles of view makes crappy players even crappier - you can be twice the bastard to them here = even more tears to enjoy I can't believe you guys are still trying to state you need more situational awareness on hardcore. I have a test for you... -Spawn 10 times on each server type with similar populations -Run in a straight line until somebody spots you and shoots you (or talks, cuffs, tortures, force-feeds you etc.. some of you have sick minds) -I bet you get a lot further on hardcore So how does it require more self awareness?

People trying to 'win' this game have already lost. [im trolling you, yes you.]
Wyrmgol replied to stilton's topic in General Discussion
This. The OP's post wreaks of being just another post-death ragefest. If people who KOS are crying about losing their gear, then where are all their whiny posts? All of the posts involving "lost my gear" tears inevitably also include statements like KOS "is unfair", "is unimaginative", or "the easy way to play the game". -
Any date confirmed for vehicles being introduced?
Wyrmgol replied to seokoner's topic in New Player Discussion
Could be both - "whine" or "whinge" The poster is listed as being located "somewhere between Berezino & your mom's house" according to his profile so he is likely American. American's don't normally use "whinge". Here is a list of some other dumb words we don't use or have created better replacements for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_words_not_widely_used_in_the_United_States -
Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.42.116002

Then why are you here? -
That's weird because I was going to stop reading until I saw that exact statement. It renewed my faith in the OP and I read his entire post. WD is a garbage show with garbage actors, writing, and acting. It's a shame too, because it could have been great. OP - There will also be changes to the zombie AI etc. I agree, they are no threat right now and increasing their numbers wouldn't change anything. However, once the AI is improved and they are a real threat on their own.... then they need to increase the numbers. It will add more threat to the game.

AND RISK VS REWARD
-
Most people participate in many ranges of play to differing degrees at differing times due to differing circumstances. I doubt there are many people that just shoot everyone all the time with no exceptions. Just like there aren't many people who are 100% friendly all the time with no exceptions. I'd wager that most people fall in the middle and participate in both.

Using a weapon to impose your will upon someone, regardless of the outcome, is banditry. If the guy didn't comply, what whould have been their next step? Exactly... Also... Protip: Most cops are bandits EDIT: If a cop pulls you over just because it is late at night and pulls a gun on you for no reason whatsoever... he is definitely a bandit.
-
-You're hunting bandits, but then you held someone up? You're a bandit. -Respawning over and over to get the spawn you want? - Some would call that an abuse of ingame mechanics. I can't comment on the cheating as I wasn't there but too many people cry "cheating" where there could be other explanations.

Im the same way... I just can't bring myself to play along with their hostage fantasy. Most of the players attempting this sound like douchebags to begin with. And like you said... there is nothing stopping them from killing you anyway. I'd rather die fighting or running. Axed some guy in the face the other day for trying this crap on me.
-
Obvious trap... -You can move around while cuffed so it was suspicious for them to just be laying there in the first place. -If you thought they were staying put because the guy that handcuffed them told them not to move then it was stupid to approach as the hostile may still be in the area. -If he wasn't planning on killing you himself then he had friends nearby that were. Once you handed him a pistol though - "..." I actually can't imagine any situation where going up to someone sitting put while handcuffed would be a good idea. You failed to assess the situation and got shot for it. You didn't help this guy out either, this outcome was most likely his plan from the beginning. I bet you learned something from this though which means he ultimately helped you out. Next time just shoot the loser attempting this lame trick.

Think it's more like 15-20min if just running. It may be even less than that, but I have never timed it. Nowhere near 1-2 hours though. I agree... it's small.

stuck in a glitch, can't get out. can't respawn, can't restart. any suggestions?
Wyrmgol replied to Sistinas1973's topic in General Discussion
Might need to starve. Drink tons of water until you start throwing up and lose all your stomach contents to make it go quicker. Or scream at the top of your lungs until someone comes and helps you pass-on. -
Your friend was definitely lying... Alt/Tab + command prompt? ahahahahahahaha

It is a lot easier to hit a target standing still. Wells are a good place to find them. They could also have been watching you for some time and then took the opportunity when you stopped to drink. I have never had this experience though. I've been shot at a well few times, but never sniped from afar. -Scan tree lines, tall buildings, and windows with LOS on the well before hitting them. -Don't linger at them... eat food, rifle through backpack, etc -Hit it and quit it The better your situational awareness the safer you'll be. Of course sometimes you will still get shot regardless of what you do.

military gears and weapons / possible solution to server hopping
Wyrmgol replied to daisho's topic in General Discussion
You would have a different character on each server. Going to a low population server to gear up risk free and then moving to a high population server is similar to server-hopping in that it allows you to bypass/reduce the risk. Most server hopping takes place on low-pop servers anyway. I have nothing against someone learning the basics on low-pop servers, especially since there is no tutorial. With private hives you can log in at non-peak hours and enjoy similar freedom to learn mechanics etc Edit: With private hives you could still go to low-pop servers and casually play around/learn/gear up. the only thing you wouldn't be able to do is then take that risk-free geared player to another server and compete on the same level with someone who endured the risk for that same gear. -
Every single experimental server ive gone too has been looted already.

They also don't reboot every 1-2 hrs either. Go inland or keep what you kill... -
To the man with the cowboy hat and the respirator in Berenzino, Experimental, yesterday...
Wyrmgol replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
To the guy in Elektro who got axed in the face when he got the drop on me with his B95 and attempted to give me orders. I don't massage egos by playing along with forced, bandit/hostage, role playing scenarios so shoot me on site next time. You did hit me though, so i took your pants. I'd also like to thank you for the B95 as I've never used this weapon before. I didn't get to fire it however, as I found an SKS later. Maybe someday soon another loser will try to force me to play house, and I'll get another chance to try one out. -
I think once they have persistence in game - bags, tents, vehicles, it will get a lot better. People will want to find out of the way places to stash gear and you will have more non-coastal interaction. My favorite place is the most northwestern spawn with the construction site, school, train station, and crap-load of garages. It's got a nice little creek for water as well. I make that run as often as I make military spawn runs.

Do You Belive Players Who Shot Unarmed And Friendly Fresh Spawns Are Bad?

Lolz, and beans for you. -
military gears and weapons / possible solution to server hopping
Wyrmgol replied to daisho's topic in General Discussion
OP - People will still go to empty servers. Their intention is to gear up with little to no risk. If you made the spawns random they would still be bypassing content (other players). The only thing that could truly solve the problem is the binding of characters to servers. (private hives) -
"wahh wah?" 90% of the people play on 3pv servers only. Thats why you 1pv server only players are trying to "fix" 3pv. Stop trying to force the majority to play the way YOU want them to. There is nothing wrong with 3pv.

The truth about heroes, bandits, survivors, KOS, and friendlies.
Wyrmgol replied to Etherimp's topic in General Discussion
OP - I agree with pretty much everything in your post. The only innocents are the people who absolutely refuse to kill anyone. That may not appeal to me, but they can do as they wish. Every play style and engagement is a matter of perspective and you are only able to gauge your own. The truth is that combat is a part of the game and it's fun. the "Hero's" hunting down bandits are just as bloodthirsty. They just get to hide behind community accepted excuses for murdering people usually based off another player's word or happening upon a situation in game where they only see half the story. Everyone has their own "code" as you stated which is he only difference between players. The situation is always grey and only becomes a certainty when we refuse to acknowledge the other guys perspective. Nice list of tips for new players as well. -
I play regular and "hardcore". When I'm playing "hardcore" I don't want to see around the wall at all. You can also still line up shots if you know what they are behind by seeing over the wall. I don't like the disappearing/reappearing either. It breaks immersion which is what I play "hardcore" for. I like the current setup - 1st or 3rd person. We don't need an in-between. I'd also like to see a video of this working in a forest and then a play test of 2 groups trying to fight in a forest with all the phasing in and out going on.
