    Is DayZ for me?

Rust is more complete than DayZ, and judging from the DayZ mod in Arma 2, DayZ should surpass what Rust can do in the future. So I recommend you come back when the game is completed. By looking through your post, I thought The Walking Dead, Season 1(the game) would be a good recommendation, if you haven't tried it yet. Costs about as much as Dayz, and is hell of alot more worth your money than Dayz at this moment. It will give you a quite good picture of what DayZ is striving to be.

    Why not three hour dayz?

I'd like to see a faster day-cycle. We have wonderfull games like Elder scrolls, Skyrim, and even minecraft, that has a good day`/night cycle. It is an experience to see the sun go up in the morning, knowing that you survived another night. If we kept a 24h cycle most players who plays on primetime-hours will only experience one of night, dusk/dawn, or day depending on where they live or where the server is, some players would never experience the situation of planning when to move or how to move during different times of the day. Even planning and executing offensive/defensive manouvers will have consequenses based on the time of day. It's a part of surival and keeping a day/night cycle withing 2-5 hours will affect the game experience in many positive ways for everyone. The only negative part of a shorter cycle would be crying hardcore fans.

    Meele system similar to MnB?

Agreed on the overdesign. Although, I feel like a scrub with my mere 300 hours ;>

    Meele system similar to MnB?

I've spent many hours with Mount and blade, it got a solid meele system. But in my opinion it would overdo the game, adding too much depth to something that doesnt have to be so complicated. It's already a high risk, and even to a point, frightening to go within range of a zombie or player with meele, I think adding theese abilities to each player would remove that. The soldiers in Mount and blade's era, have most likley been trained in combat with sword, spear and shield and got a good grasp on sparring. I see the average survivor in Dayz to be a random nobody, someone who happens to be alive, and will do anything to keep it that way, so they will probably just swing their axe and hope to hit their threat before it hits them. Reaction and tactics is still awarded in Dayz meele with dodges and timing, so the skilled players will still have a upper hand. IMO; We have no need for directional attacks/blocks, weapon swingback, weight etc, however I can see the directional attack/block be a feature in the future, it's not impossible. I do agree with the bayonett however, switching from javelin to spear is smooth and should work similar in dayz when switching from firearm to bayonett. A good way to tell if someone got their bayonett ready, should be when they have their trigger hand moved to the stock and changing stance.

    Unplayable lag since 0.30.113953, help!

    Great, Thanks for the response.
  8. Ever since patch 0.30.113953 was released I've had uncontrollable lag with twerking camera and rubberbanding. I may not have the best connection in the world but I have been running Dayz fine since I bought it Christmas day. Anyone knows any issues with the patch or have similar problems with unstable connection, unresponsive interface and character twerking? It could be the DDos attack, but that should be over by now right? I'd also like to know where/how to start troubleshoot this issue, in case it's the clients fault and need to report this to the bugtracker or perhaps it's solvable by some kind of tweak. Here's a pic of my average value right now, when being connected to a server: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/667956672851894869/23B110D2A854704D5E658C481D50B2F4A67F9385/ My desync jumps up to around 2000 regulary, but interface and interactions in the game are unresponsive most of the time. Thanks in advance!

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.114008

I've had constant lag and "rubberbanding" since the latest updates, anyone knows anything of this?
  10. Yup. There was an DDOS attack on Dayz, and your character wipe could be connection problem between you and the hive. Try another server or wait until the attack has been cleared up.

Lets make it a little easier for the Devs

I wanted the same, but my reasoning was: Increased stability means being able to support more players, more zombies, and more loot. And when the foundation of the game is stable, you can start adding more content. It makes me very sad that people think that stopping ragequitters and server looters is more important than having a playable client. Vote on "More stability to client" if you know what's good for you!

Will they be *able* to fix it?

Fix? I think the more correct question is, will they create a game? As it is FAR from completed. It's not fixed couse they are still creating the game. They now have the resources from all the sales, and a solid base/engine to start on, all they need is will. If the engine completly screws them over, start over fresh on a new platform. I wish them luck, and all the time they need to create the game we want. Also, I'd like to remind you: It's an Alphur!
  13. I had a nice post written but accidently the web-browser, here was my questions for you in a TL;DR format: What level of Roleplaying requirements are we talking about? Compared to lsrp (GTA SAMP)? Excluding Age, what requirements are you going to request for someone to join the server? Do you think a donation-plan would be sufficient enough to manage the servers? (Perhaps let donators be in charge of events during prime time, or other kinds of rewards etc) I like the idea and hope that we get a good community of serious players together through something like this in the near future. I wish you luck! And Primetime events: LOVE IT, have my beans. :beans: I can imagine many kinds of scenarious created by players or admins that will enhance the experience for everyone. And having it regulary on set hours will help alot of players plan, and eventually group together to make theese events possible for everyone. This could be implemented into the game, like in MMO-games(wow, planetside 2 etc) by the devolopers of course. But I belive letting players be creative and in control of such events would bolster creativity and remove repetiv and stagnant gameplay, and also keeping the sandbox-nature of the game intact.
  14. I hope others have stated this before me, but.... How to look at your compass fast without interruption: PRESS TAB, RIGHT-CLICK COMPASS, INSPECT, Close lid for dramatic effect, DONE!
