What is the fps going to be at the end of beta?

Wait, what? I'm afraid of.. what? I doubt the melee system was affected by being switched to stable branch. I doubt even more that they would leave it functioning in a way they didn't intend.

I've had my fair share of experience with this as well. I feel right at home B)

I find it hilarious that you think I'm not "real." Look at my post history if you don't believe me. I was much more active last year, and the beginning of last year. I love DayZ, you don't need to defend it so hard. But, I liked it better the other way. That's not a lie. You find it hard to believe that I don't know what's been happening with the game during the period I haven't been playing it? That's flawed logic. And, no, I've hardly noticed any of those changes. Animals, woopty doo. I have noticed that zombies move better, which only sucks that much more that you can't properly defend yourself. And it's news to me that DayZ wasn't already operating in 64-bit, but it does explain a lot. None of the changes that you have mentioned have had a dramatic impact on my DayZ experience. It's still DayZ, except now I try to avoid my axe. Oh, and my weapons randomly stop working sometimes, which really sucked last night. And items disappearing through floors caused my death when I lost my bandages, which used to happen less, sooooo. And I found a crossbow that glitched when I tried to load it, so I still don't know what using them is like. It's not like I'm not used to this stuff, but things would be a bit more tolerable if I had my trusty axe. I'm happy to hear it's being addressed, which only proves my point: it sucks! Obviously this is a heated issue, which I could have guessed from Rick's post, but you can tone it down now.

They need to "optimize" the game for this to happen. That is typically the final stage of a game's development. Once they have the game set in stone, they will attempt to make it run the best they can. Whether or not they will achieve 60 FPS is tough to answer, but the game should definitely run better than it is now. For example, the game currently doesn't support dual graphics cards. That alone will have a big impact on a lot of different users. Edit: Also the game operates in 32-bit. Supposedly it's being changed to 64-bit soon. -
[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?
Solopopo replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
[be nice] while you're torturing people guise, it's just respectful. -
Can you blame me? After a six month hiatus, I expected the game to be at least as good as it was when I left it. New sig? That thing has been the same since I left, lol.

No matter what I assume, it still sucks. If you want to go ahead and say Bohemia sucks, that's your prerogative :D But in all seriousness, there are test servers for implementations that aren't ready yet.

You might be on to something. They've been very successful at doing that in the past.

Long time no see Rick.

What exactly changed about the melee combat in .47 stable?
Solopopo replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
They changed the melee system because axes were over powered. It was very hard to kill an axe murderer that was running at you, because they ran inhumanely fast. This is because the sprint speed is set extremely high to compensate for the crazy distances players need to traverse without vehicles. Axes were so OP that I would pull one out in close quarters, even if I had end game gear. It was the first item I searched for, and I immediately started hunting other players with it, because it's all I needed. If you got a player with a weapon on the run, it was only a matter of time before you caught him, because you ran with your axe equally as quick as he did with his gun. As soon as he stopped/turned/slipped up, he would die. The guns in Dayz are clunky and unreliable at extremely close ranges. It is nothing like, say, CS:GO where a player with a knife would be punished severely by a gun. With a gun in Day Z you would most likely miss every shot you fired at a player sprinting horizontally across your screen. With all that said, they have made the changes they have made to stop the axe from being the single greatest close quarters combat weapon. It's no longer possible to run a gun wielder down with an axe. They have changed it so your axe must be in the raised position to swing, and you move more slowly in the raised weapon position. If you are moving, your axe swings higher than your crosshair. If you are standing still, your axe swings below the crosshair. This means that while running, you need to stare at your opponents feet to make contact, and while standing still you need to stare at the sky. It is entirely stupid, and broken, but it does accomplish what Bohemia wanted to accomplish, in a really sad, pathetic, way. There has always been a raise weapon feature, but up until now it's had no effect; at least with melee weapons, which suggests that they always meant to implement some sort of raised weapon mechanic and they hadn't quite yet gotten it down. They still haven't. I prefer the old system. At least it was better than this. -
I've played solely for the PvP since practically the beginning. The game is nothing without other players, and there's nothing Bohemia can implement that will change that. Staying alive without encountering other players is as easy as a point-click adventure.

I currently have both weapons, no attachments, same ammount of ammo for each. I feel torn about which to leave behind. What makes the two weapons different other than ammo capacity? So far i've noticed that the SKS wont work with bipods, but it does work with scopes. Both weapons can be set as far as 300 meters without a scope.

You're the guy bringing me up in a completely unrelated thread. Its fucking weird. You're fucking weird. Im not the only one who cant understand what you mean. What argument are you even trying to make by quoting that massive wall of text which is completely out of context here.. Its because you are incapable of making sense. You are hopping my writing is somehow going to express your own idea because you have the writing capacity of a grade schooler and you cant express it yourself.

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/55657-start-here-a-beginners-guide-to-dayz-servers-and-administration/ "There are, however, ways of combating hackers without breaking the rules Shut the server down IMMEDIATELY - This will most likely end up in a Hive rollback and any users who died will most likely get their gear back. THIS IS NOT FOOLPROOF. IT DOES NOT WORK ALL THE TIME." Anyone else notice this happening? There have been several times that I've killed the only person in an empty server and the server shuts down right after he dies. I've also attacked geared groups of people and had the server shut down on me before I get to loot them. I realize that it could be a coincidence sometimes, but I kill more players than the average survivor, and I've experienced this many times. Edit: This is confirmed, which should be no surprise because the link posted explicitly describes the ability of admins to shut down servers, which prompts character roll backs. Edit, edit: Stumbling upon the only other player in a server is a fairly common occurrence if you are logging into high traffic areas. People seem to be getting hung up by this. Edit, edit edit: This happens to me frequently, because I am always going after the biggest fish. I'm always searching for the biggest, baddest, group and trying to kill them. I like to prevail through disadvantage. It's how I prefer to play. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes I'm not, but I've taken out the admin enough times to experience server resets quite a few times. I probably experience this a bit more often than most, because of my play style. The admin is usually accompanying the biggest group in a server. Players would be surprised how often admins are rolling back their deaths, even on high populated servers, especially if their death was embarrassing, i.e., him and his geared group just got axe murdered. It goes right under many player's noses, because it only negatively impacts the person that actually killed the admin; everyone else just gets a free roll back. Do NOT contribute to any argument in this thread pertaining to whether or not admins are capable of rolling back the hive. Please acknowledge the facts before posting. It is a redundant argument, and a waste of all of our time. This "argument" was put to rest with the very first sentence I posted. Read it for Christ's sake.

Admins Shutting Servers Down When They Get Killed

Admin abuse is no unicorn. I am not explaining myself again. Everything I have to say is already written. -
You obviously learned nothing from my grammar lessons. What are you trying to say? Spell it with your own words. Don't let me speak for you. I am a notorious, blood sucking, server hopper. What of it? I gotta say, I was pretty baffled when I was leisurely reading the new threads on the board and came across a 2000 word quote of myself from a completely unrelated thread. You gotta move on man. No one even knows what you are talking about, which I could have helped you with, but you ignored my lessons. Your loss.

Forced headbob for the sake of realism?

Fucked up minds think alike I suppose. I thought the same thing. As for the idea, I wish I could vote no more than once. But that's just me. -
Yeah, it takes a lot of time and paperwork to eject the lead developer from his position <_< Great find OP. Beans.

Admins Shutting Servers Down When They Get Killed
Solopopo replied to Solopopo's topic in General Discussion
Omg, there is a sensible person among us! What a sigh of relief! I'd give you fifty beans if I could. Can you believe how many people disagreed it even existed? Haha, I sure will! :D -
I was a strong proponent of first-person only. But now that 3PP is in the game, I just can't resist. I first started out with 3PP towards the end of my time playing WarZ. In WarZ you could actually shift your camera to the left or right of your character. There was no middle camera perspective. This gave you such a drastic advantage, that to not use it was to commit suicide. WarZ had nothing like hard core servers. I jumped into SA playing 3PP out of habit, and I never stopped. Maybe tonight I'll give it a shot. Things have gotten pretty boring recently.
