It sounds to me that you're just bad.You need to be careful and patient in DayZ. Because it's an alpha you need to be even more careful and patient. Based on that wall of text, it doesn't seem that you possess either of those qualities. Maybe CoD is more your style.

Have fun starving.

They always show up at the most bizarre times. If I just ran a mile to try and get loot from my corpse back, there's a bunny next to my body. If i'm in the middle of a firefight there's a bunny at my feet, etc. I can't wait until you can kill them. They're creeping me out.

I heard somewhere that your voice can be broadcast over the server if you're speaking when you log on.

Before I quit Dayz I have some parting words

You'll be back -
Mossins are almost impossible to find because server hoppers snatch them up quick. It is easily the best gun in the game at the moment.

Geez, I wont be downloading any third party programs for dayz. All I've been using is fraps. Hope that doesn't get me banned o.0 People were getting their accounts banned for nothing on WarZ a lot. Their anti cheat system considered the conditions of the kill (distance, visibility, etc.) and made an arbitrary decision about whether or not the kill should have been possible. Good players were getting banned all the time because they were pulling off difficult kills. I hope something like this doesn't happen in DayZ

I don't make it my mission to server hop, but if I've just spent the last 20 minutes reaching an airfield, it's hard to resist switching servers, as oppose to running another 20 minutes (or more) to the next military base. I don't like server hopping, but I'll do it so long as other players are doing it. Currently my time in SA is spent making my way to the closest military base, then occupying that area for about an hour, either waiting for server hoppers to kill or server hopping myself. There's no reason to leave. Everything I need is there: food, water, weapons, clothing, players to interact with. It isn't my idea of an authentic DayZ experience. So what's the community's opinion?
-
Low funds? DayZ took in over 12 million dollars in its first week. That isn't an acceptable excuse anymore. Much more should be expected from them now. This type of attitude enables the devs to keep making tons of money on an essentially unfinished project. They could stop now and DayZ SA could be considered a financial success. Don't suggest that we are willing to settle for a project that isn't finished. They might not be motivated to improve the game further if they are already making tons of money and they feel that fans aren't expecting any more from them. This aint WarZ. DayZ will include features that it's fans demand. If we don't push for a better game, we won't get a better game.

You just reminded me of my first encounter with a server hopper. I made it to NWAF for the first time, made my way to the top of the building with the jail cell, and went prone in the uppermost room to hide. I was hearing gunshots everywhere and I only had a pistol. I heard the sound of a player signing in with a weapon, turned, still prone, and found myself staring at a guys legs who wasn't there before. I stood up right in front of him and waved. He blew my head off. I must of scared this shit out of him. First thing he sees upon logging in is a masked player waving in his face. I learned the hard way to have no mercy with server hoppers. I had assumed most people didnt KoS at this point, because I got lucky and the first three people I ran into were really friendly. I haven't ran into a friendly player since.

Omg please record it if you do. Hilarious.

I'd prefer if server hopping wasn't in the game, but it is. Players who do it should lose all their items, and sometimes that does happen, but it needs to happen every time. Until that happens, I'll continue to play the way most of the community does.
-
How is waiting for a hopper any different than hopping yourself? You're camping the area waiting for free loot either way.
-
Players choose to be friendly because DayZ is supposed to be more than just killing everyone you see. They are trying to encourage people to interact with other players in more ways than just blowing each other's heads off. There are plenty of other shooters where that is precisely the objective. I'm saying this as a KoS player, and I'll continue to KoS until the developers add more incentive to work with other players, but I respect friendlies, and won't kill them if they approach me.

So I picked up a can of sardines and opened it. When I right clicked it to eat it, my game crashed. I logged back in, tried right clicking it again, game crashed. I tried it a third time and indeed my game crashed again. I can right click anything else and it's fine, but If I right click this particular piece of food, whether it's in my bag or on the ground, the game crashes. I threw it out of my bag and it is currently sitting in the NWAF in the barracks (the one by itself, not the two next to each other). I'm sure it's still there if anyone wants to test it. It's in the hallway. The server is (public/veterain) - 1 Quebec Hochelag. I was going to report it as a bug, but I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this first.

I've been using the FNX45 recently because I found an attachment for it. Didn't even know pistol attachments existed. I prefer to carry both though. In super close range I use the magnum. At a distance I use the FNX45.

In my opinion you should only hear birds when there are birds around, and you should only hear fences rattling when someone, or something, is brushing against them. Would be great for PvP and role playing. Certainly it's a challenge in terms of development, but this is DayZ SA we're talking about. Settle for nothing!
-
Yeah, it's a lazy way of making the sound seem more dynamic than it actually is. It was okay for the mod, but it isn't for SA. Obviously the game is in alpha, but I hope to see improved sound soon!
-
I think he's rather photogenic. Good luck stealing the loot I've stashed in the van :D
-
Sound like this is essential for the game to flourish. I'm sick of hearing the same background noise looping everywhere I go. Every time I hear the fence rattle, regardless of whether there is a fence within a mile of me, I always look around in a panic. Then I remember, oh yeah, sound doesn't mean a thing in this game aside from a few distinct exceptions; namely firing weapons, cracking soda cans, munching/drinking food, and walking on random overly load floor paneling. It's the opposite of immersion, and the sound in it's current state is suspiciously similar to WarZ.

The reason why i kill on sight now !!

I KoS players who look like bandits. If they don't have weapons to defend themselves it's just stupid. It's hard to resist killing a player when you haven't had any action for the past hour and a half. Like what else is there to do? You spend hours of your time collecting items, and then you finally see somebody else. What do you do? Turn around, run, and go back to doing what you've been doing for the past few hours with no foreseeable purpose? There isn't anything motivating players to team up yet soooooo..... yeah. -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you lose all your stuff if you combat log? What's the pont? To ensure your enemy can't get your stuff?

General Wishlist -- Atmosphere -- Totally Horrifying
Solopopo replied to Ijin's topic in General Discussion
Beans for you sir. I love this idea. I want the environment to be as immersive as possible. There needs to be more going on in the game world. I'd like to see queued events, like zombies bursting down closet doors and that kind of thing. The world needs to seem alive. There should be endless events that draw your attention as you traverse Chenarus. What's that, a fire in the distance? Is a player making food? Trying to keep warm? Was that explosion coming from that city way over there? I can see it all the way from here! Did I just hear an animal getting killed? Did I just hear an animal killing a player? I can hear a helicopter in the distance. I hope it doesn't come this way. I see headlights coming down the road, I need to hide! No, I'll ambush them! Now I need to run, that drew way too much attention. Ugh, worst timing ever! A zombie horde crossing my path! So many, so fast! They need to put things in the game TO DO (reference anybody?). Currently all there is to do is find stuff and kill other players. So that's what players do. They find stuff. Then head to the biggest city to find other players to kill. The game can be so much more than that, but we need more toys to play with in our playground; things that make role playing something you do even without intending to, simply because it's the nature of the game. -
edit: double post

I think the accuracy is so bad because there are many new things that influence accuracy. If you are laying prone with an m4, with a pristine bipod and scope, and you are not out of breadth, and you are perfectly healthy, you won't miss. I'd like to see a test performed where these factors are considered.
