Every time I join a new server I'm in a different spot. Just lost everything three times in a row. When I switch to find a more populated server I lose everything. Manged to get it back, then lost it, then got it back, then spawned in a completely different spot, then spawned with my items again, and now I don't have anything on any character and I don't know which one is safe to play. This happening to anybody else? I want to make a trip north to the ship but I'm afraid that character is just going to vanish after running for 30 mins.

You're allowed to switch servers. I'm not server hopping. -

It happens to me every time now, no matter what server I join. Are there like 13 hives now or something? -

I'm only picking regular servers. I'm even sticking to the same server provider. -

I'm not server hopping. Each time I ran to get loot, got loot, switched to a high pop server, everything gone, three times in a row. I've even tried waiting a few minutes before switching servers. I can't switch period, it's not that I'm switching too fast. I don't even know why I replied to this because obviously other people are having the same problem if you look at the boards. -
At any rate the same thing is happening to me and I also made a post about it so........ yeah. I guess I'm glad I'm not alone. That's it for the night I suppose.

How is this the best reply ever? I'm warning players about them, and bringing it up as a topic of discussion. Fuck me right?

Way to identify if hoppers join low pop servers
Solopopo replied to Karmaterror's topic in General Discussion
I get this message too. I'm not sure if it's because of server hoppers though. -
Dont forget to turn off mouse smoothing, rotation blur, and bloom. I thought my game was running poorly after the update too but it was because I forgot to change these back. Also any changes you've made to the game files using notepad have been reset, so you need to go back and do it over. You might have to go in and reduce scene complexity, or view distance.

Wow. Such misunderstand. Very scare.

If I could take beans away from you I would.

After being forced to play night for the past hour I have completely changed my stance on it. Night time sucks. It's not fun dying because you can't see the zombie hitting you, or getting stuck walking instead of running and not being able to see what you need to put away or what button to press to be able to sprint again, or not being able to find a bandage fast enough because using a flashlight slows you down (which makes no sense). Turning up the gamma still works too, just not as well, and I hate having to do that just to be able to play. Having day/night sync with the actual time of day is a horrible idea. Some of us only play at certain times and It's not something we should have to endure for that long. I like that it's in the game, but they need to turn back the time it takes for the sun to shine.

Why Mouse Acceleration in First Person desperately needs Fixing #2 *Long Post*

Head bob tries to simulate what would actually happen to your head as you run/turn. Your screen bobs around while moving to accomplish this. You are talking about applying a similar mechanic, with the same intention, to arms. You are suggesting that arms should not keep up with your eyes, they should lag behind a bit. I don't like the idea of my gun lagging behind my vision all the time. It would just feel like the game was constantly lagging. I prefer my weapon to be aimed straight at the center of my screen at all times. If it was a feature that could be turned off like head bob, and it probably would be, everyone would play with it off. It's a cool idea, but it's a slippery road to go down. It could be amazing, but there's also a good chance it could also be an absolute disaster in terms of how it's received. FPS players are extremely picky about this sort of thing. Though, at the same time, DayZ is more than just an FPS, so it does seem that something like this would be cool, but that's what they thought about head bob, and that's the point I'm trying to make. -
Omg, they fixed the gamma exploit? I'm really pleased with the vision the devs have for this game. It's going to be so awesome when it's finally finished.

I don't know about you guys, but I would trade my items for an update any day. If someone told you last night that the game would update tomorrow if you are willing to give your items up, you would do it. I don't see why such a big deal was made about this, especially when players are already getting wiped all the time. We have more content to mess around with. Be happy. It's probably going to happen again with updates to come so it would be wise to get accustomed to it now. I'm surprised people weren't expecting this. I don't mean to justify character wipes, they should be stopped however possible, but it's an unfortunate part of the game that players have already been experiencing for a while now, not something that suddenly sprung up with this update.

It sounds to me like your requesting head bob for guns, in that your character's movement is being influenced by something out of your control. Everyone despises head bob; they will hate gun bob a lot more. You've managed to express your idea in detail; beans for a well constructed post, but unfortunately it would not pan out. It's an ambitious idea, but most people would just be aggravated by it, and I can see it being really buggy, and more of a pain than it's worth. I am not currently bothered by how quickly players can turn around (I don't think anyone is really). If you have the drop on somebody, they are going to die regardless. It would be cool for the game to be that realistic, but I have my doubts about how something like this would be received. -
Updating now. So exciting.

Fixed it. Anyone try slugs instead of pellets?

DayZ is at a delicate stage in it's development. Not pissing people off is a good idea. -
Pretty sure it says dayz standalone when you make the purchase on steam, but it only says dayz in your library. Thats because it is a "standalone" game. The original was a mod of Arma 2, which means you would be launching arma 2 from your steam library to play it. Dayz mod is basically arma 2. You would know if you were playing it because you need to go out of your way to make it work, unlike standalone which launches from steam as if it is its own game, because it is. That's what makes standalone stand alone. Silly puns :D

Vehicles are a must.

Dayz is a zombie mmo. The game wasnt designed for players to be jumping from server to server like magical transdimentional beings. You are supposed to find loot by traveling through the world, not by running to that one spot you know Mosins spawn and server hopping for 20 minutes. Loot would be easier to find if it wasnt getting snatched up by server hoppers. Traveling long distances would be more rewarding. When I travel through cities, I can literally hear server hopper after server hopper logging in and out all around me. Its like no one stays in the game for more than 30 seconds nowadays. You will never run into players in a natural way and have a true dayz experience with this stuff going on. Its just stupid and it undermines a core pillar of the games developement.

Your writing gave me cancer.
-
Are you trolling? I have a little over 100 hours played and I literally have never been spawn killed. You must really be clueless. Maybe try not running down the open road of the coast on a full server.

We should band together to make them unfriendly :D Nothing like banditing for a cause
