Can i STOP LOOSING MY FUC**N character!!!!
Solopopo replied to graficar92's topic in General Discussion
Some days seem to be worse than others when it comes to character wipe. Last night was perfect though. You could hop like a mad man if you wanted. Make sure to switch servers a few times after getting wiped. Sometimes you just need to switch back to a server that is on the hive you were playing on. Ive lost my shot and gotten it back a dozen times -
What do you think of people calling Kill on Sight players ... "kids"?
Solopopo replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Im old. I dont care about getting called kid, but its starting to bother me that 1 in 3 people I run into sound like their balls havent dropped yet. Makes me feel too old for this shit. -
They need to implement high fiving. If two players each press F1 close enough to each other it should initiate a high five animation. I fresh spawned in Solnichniy and ran into a fellow bambi. He asked to box. I agreed. Just as we were about to fight we hear a guy scream, "Get naked and lay down. Shoes too! I want to see you naked!" It was a very serious bandit decked out in full end game gear. I was planning on calling it a night. I only logged back in to see where I spawned. I had nothing to lose. When he told us to stand up I started sprinting around him in circles. My fellow bambi followed suit. The bandit kept yelling confidently, "You think I don't have enough ammo for this?" As he spun around shooting at us with his magnum. He clipped me once, bringing me dangerously low, but soon after he got knocked out. I manged to snatch his Mosin as my bambi ally stole his Magnum. It did not end well for the bandit. His Mosin had a long range scope, compensator, and bipod, all in perfect condition. My bambi friend got the rest. It was a serious high five moment. I demand high fives!

Not at all. I'll bring my axe too. We can touch tips. In all seriousness high fiving would promote players to interact with each other in ways that would warrant a high five. In other words, players would want to high five, and therefore they would want reasons to high five. It seems silly. But secretly, it's genius! The high five is just one example of a bigger idea that no one really seems to be picking up on. So quick to condemn! If players can do more things with each other, they won't want to kill as frequently because they will want to experience those things, which will encourage friendliness. These "things" I'm referring to are animated player interactions. High fives, hugs, slaps, kisses, bows, salutes, etc. However, for now they could implement just one to see how it pans out, and I think the high five would be a good place to start.

I knew you would see the light. Maybe one day I will have the honor of slapping hands with you.
-
Criticize as you will, but don't hate man. I'm just a man with a bambi friend in need of high fives.
-
Just barely bellow banana holster priority.
-
And if you took everything too seriously.....wait, you do, never mind.
-
It is WAY too early to be making this kind of judgement on DayZ. It is possible that it might turn out the way you claim, but unlike WarZ, DayZ has developers that actually care about the game, and it's fans. WarZ was a cash grab from the start.
-
Sure do. In all seriousness more emotes all around would be nice, especially interactive ones. But high fives must be a priority!
-
It sure is! How can we not high five? Blasphemous!
-
What do you mean 1cm too high? Where are you getting that from? It's higher than that. Literally just had somebody combat log on me before checking the forums just now. They really need to fix it.

I am finding it very difficult starting out

Zombies can see you from a very far distance away, but they can't hear you even if you are right behind them. You need to break line of site to get away from them, but your best bet is just not to be seen in the first place. Crouch walk as you search through towns to reduce your chances of getting seen. Pay attention to your surroundings because you could have a zombie coming at you from a long way away. Keep in mind that they will chase you for a very long time if you don't break line of site, but you can always run faster than they can. If you do find yourself up against a zombie with no weapon, aim for the head. This will knock the zombie down and give you a chance for some free hits. The idea of the game is survival, so don't throw yourself at every threat you see. Personally I never fight zombies as a fresh spawn, because it's almost impossible to avoid getting at least hit once, and it takes forever to regenerate health before you find food/water. It's not worth it. Sprint until you find a weapon. Even if you have zombies at your heals, keep sprinting for weapons. They can't catch you so don't make it easy for them to kill you by engaging them with nothing to defend yourself. -
Okay, maybe way off Notice here how my cross hair is pointed at the black square When I look down the sight of my shotgun it isn't aiming at the black square. Notice how it points lower and slightly to the right. You can see how the shotgun is clearly pointing downards from this angle (this screenshot was taken with my head turned, but my cross-hair still on the black square) Using Magnum to test This is where my cross-hair fell when I zoomed back out. I fired the Magnum after this picture was taken. Lo and behold the bullet hole where the first person cross-hair fell, not where the third-person cross-hair fell.
-
The purpose of sawing off a shotgun is to make it concealable. No one saws a shotgun saying, "man my spread will be so wide!" They should definitly add extra strorage methods for it. I'd like to see it take up two less slots in backpack.
-
I haven't been playing for that long.

For all of you newer players out there keep communication a priority

I'm sure he had a lot to say after you shot him. -
That would be one way to fix it.

What's sad about this post is that it attempts to be pretentious, but fails even at that. A for effort, but I think you would benefit from an English composition class. Not only does your writing fail to express what you mean, but what you mean is wrong. The Mosin is equally effective at all ranges, and arguably the best gun in the game. /thread

Why would you want to play on a "NO KILL" server? That completely defeats the purpose of the game. What do you do after you get all your gear and there's nothing left to do? I for one think the community is pretty great. But if you don't know what you are doing, you get punished hard. That is why there is so much complaining going on about KoS.
-
The developers know what they are doing with the arma engine. They have been using it for a while, and the framework of the old game is still there for them to work with, which saves a lot of time. They are modders after all, not really game developers. If they switched engines we wouldn't see DayZ till 2018 and it wouldn't even be recognizable.
-
Haha, it's pretty hard to get mad about dying when she's here.
-
I think it was intentional when it was made that way for arma. It's not approximately off though. Its exactly off. You can shoot accurately knowing exactly how far off.
-
I don't think so. The player can rotate it any way they want, but I think the angles of the two perspectives are parallel. If 3PP is angled at all, it would be up, not down. Either they are parallel, or 3PP points up. Otherwise the results of the test would be different. Only way to know for sure is to recreate the test and see if the difference between 3PP and 1PP increases or decreases based on distance. I prefer to know exactly the way it is. That way I can use it as an advantage should I run into any KoSers :D
