    My Charakter was deleted

I haven't experienced a character wipe since the last patch. I'm sure it can still happen though. That's unfortunate.

You were. Am I the only one that noticed the incorrect price?

Butthurt player trying to spread his own beliefs about what the developers believe through lies. You are so spoiled. If only you experienced WarZ. The developers of WarZ actually were like this.

    My Charakter was deleted

There is no need to add another bug report on this issue. Legitimate character deletions have happened. In your case however, you were probably playing on a server that wasn't connected to the hive. When you switched back to the public hive, bam, you're a fresh spawn. If you manage to find the server you switched from you would find your character alive still, but he is stuck on that server. Always make sure you are playing on the same hive. Every time you log out and back in you should be in the same place. If you are not in the same place, you have found a server that is disconnected from the hive. Verifying that a server is public hive can be a painstaking process now with the log out/in timer, but its worth the time, because if you invest hours on a disconnected hive you will waste a lot more. Add a bunch of servers you are certain are public hive to your favorites and play only on those servers. That way you will only lose your character when real character wipes happen. These happen to everyone at once, so you won't be the only one.
  5. So the rumors are true. The death bunny lives! So this was my favorite glitch experience. It's a bit long, but hilarious, and entails several glitches in the same instance. I finally make it to NEAF. I have nothing but a wood axe. As soon as I arrive at the double doors of the first building a player armed with an M4 rounds the corner. He shouts for me to freeze. I sprint around the building in the opposite direction. Instead of continuing to run around like I knew he expected me to do, I stopped just at the corner and waited with my axe. When he came around he was in mid sentence, "you better sto..." catch him right in the face with my axe, but his ballistic helmet saves him. He runs forward, passing me with his M4 in hand. I chase him. I know that he can't run faster than me with his M4 out. If he stops even for a second i'm burying my axe in his back. He keeps repeating, "dude, I have a gun." I respond, "you better not stop running." Then I scream like a lunatic for fun. I think this must have startled him because he stopped running for a second. Maybe he messed up trying to put his M4 away to run faster. In any case, I nail him with the coup de grace. He accepted his fate with dignity. Not a peep. I loot his stuff, then run inside the building he chased me around. I was on the top floor in the room with the bunk beds, and this is where the glitches begin. I put my new M4 down for a second to organize my inventory and it disappears. I'm thinking, "okay it probably fell through the floor." I check, not there. I wait, not there. So I think maybe I never actually picked it up to begin with. Maybe it was a glitch. So I go back to the body to check. It is out in the open airfield. As I'm looting I hear a player running towards me. I break the inventory screen by double tapping w and start sprinting just as a player nails me with an axe. I ask, "dude what the hell?" with him on my heals. He states, "fuck you, you killed me friend." So I run around the building the same way I had before. I managed to get a little ahead of him, because I was sprinting empty-handed, and he was wielding his axe. I think to myself that the same exact strategy might work again. It's unlikely that his friend explained the exact way I managed to kill him; it was embarrassing after all. So I stop running at the same corner and take out my axe. Now, I'm down one axe hit, and the only way for me to survive this engagement is if I catch him in the head before he hits me anywhere. I was leaning into the side of the building just as he was about to come around when I glitched through the wall into the bottom level of the building and my M4 was right where I was waiting for it to appear before I left to check the body again. I had completely forgotten about it. So I confidently stroll outside. He sees me, doesn't see that I have his friend's old M4, and runs headlong into my hail of gunfire. "Now I've killed you too!" I exclaim victoriously. He proceeds to whine, "you fucking server hopper, you fucking server hopping bitch." His body glitches and starts floating away as I happily stroll along with him and explain that I glitched through the wall and found my M4. He proceeded to whine and accuse me of being a server hopper all the way down the hill until his body finally poofed out of existence. It was all very entertaining.

1st person only or 3rd person?

I truly love the idea of first person only, but forcing myself to use it is not enjoyable. First person isn't very smooth no matter what frames I am getting. It just doesn't feel right, possibly because acceleration is on, but I think it's more than that. I played CS:GO for a month with acceleration on because it was on only slightly and I didn't realize it was on by default. It didn't bother me at all; that is until I found out. There is something just off about the way the screen rotates in game. It is so choppy. Not only that, but you have much better control and awareness in 3rd person. It is easy to kill an armed player close range with a melee weapon, because its difficult to hit a close, fast moving, target with a gun in first person. I have killed many armed players with only an axe, because I have more of an idea of where I am in relation to where my enemy is, assuming they are aiming in first person. I have actually resorted to firing in third person when I am in close range. Sometimes, when I am up against an armed player, I will even chose my axe over my secondary, because there is a good chance he is using first person to shoot, and it is really that difficult to hit a close, fast moving target in first person. If you manage to get behind a person using first person it completely disorients them, and they are done for. In a game like CS:GO, or pretty much any other shooter, you would have your head blown of in an instant. I'm not saying I dislike this though. I love killing armed people with my axe :D It's just why I don't use first person. I used to be an FPS fanatic. I used first person in WarZ. For me to resist playing in first person shows just how awful it really is. I was actually extremely disappointed with my purchase of DayZ until I saw how much more smoothly the game seems to run in 3rd person. This has been my experience on two separate computer set ups.

  8. My honest opinion is that I should do it to them before they do it to me. And I do.

Why the dayz formula will ultimately fail

That circled area you have there is a work in progress. The entire game is a work in progress. To say that the entire thing is going to fail because of the way loot currently spawns, which could be fixed with a single patch, is just silly. They are already implementing high population servers in the experimental test branch. If you play on any of those servers you must travel inland to find loot. At the moment, I enjoy that the action is for the most part centralized around elektro/cherno. I always know where to go to PvP. By the time the rest of the game is implemented, I will have a lot more PvP experience than the wave of new players that will join the community. Enjoy it while it lasts. Who knows where the action will be centralized when the game is finished, if it is centralized anywhere at all. It is likely that elektro/cherno will always be hot spots, because they are well known playgrounds for PvP, but that it not necessarily a bad thing. When there is more incentive to survive, elektro/cherno might lose their appeal for many players, particularly players that didn't master elektro/cherno PvP while they had the chance.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!

You would rather fumble with that clumsy contraption instead of pressing a button that does the same thing? Why?
  11. I made a post a while back, before the update, about how log in timers were not going to stop server hopping and that they would just get in the way of the game. That prediction has for the part come true. People still hop, and items are still swiped up at server restart. Also, players seem to successfully combat log occasionally (I have done it myself). Sometimes attacking them until their character disappears has no consequence. Sometimes they just disappear right away. So here's the suggestion I offered before the timer update. The problem with the timer in it's current state is that it locks people OUT of servers. If you try to server hop, you are locked out. If you combat log, you are locked out, whilst you char remains locked in (at least that's what's supposed to happen). I think it would be a better idea to implement one timer: a log out timer that you must be present in the server for. You shouldn't be staring at a black screen, you should be staring at your character in the game until you log out. You must crouch/lay down/ rest, with nothing in your hands, for a full minute before logging out. It should take a brief period of time to break out of this state, or to stand up (5-10 seconds). When the timer runs out, you log out. If your character does not log out immediately due to connection issues, your character is temporarily made invulnerable until the disconnect is complete. Players would be very unlikely to log out in areas that are popular for server hoppers. It would be too dangerous, and people would hunt them. In this way, players themselves can contribute to punishing server hoppers. With the loot system the way it currently is, I don't think there is a better alternative. Also, a lot of players have expressed a desire to be able to sleep in game. Edit: The idea would work better if the log out timer could not be cancelled, but I originally thought this was taking it too far. Clarification: "The current system is not actually stopping hoppers from taking items. Players are logging into fresh servers like they always have, and lapping up the loot. Then they travel to a new loot spot, and by the time they get there, their timers are reset and they search for a new fresh server. The current system is an annoyance more than anything. Sure it seems like it's stopping hopping, because it stops YOU from hopping legitimately, but it is not stopping hoppers who are looking for loot. People have commented saying that I must be mad that I can't hop anymore, but I am still hopping no problem. If anything, it has made hopping easier for the more experienced hoppers, because you can't just go down the list and click server after server anymore. You actually have to make sure are joining a fresh server. So the number of hoppers is down, but the number of items that are being jacked by hoppers remains the same. The current combat logging system doesn't always work. I have combat logged successfully several times. I have watched people log out in front of me. Their bodies disappear a little while later leaving behind no loot. Sometimes it actually does work, but sometimes it doesn't. Therefore, since log in timers aren't doing their job, and combat logging only sometimes work, I have suggested an alternative that accomplishes no less than the prior system, but is at the same time less of a frustration for players who actually aren't hopping for items. Also, players have wanted to be able to "sleep" for a long time, so it would be a nifty way to implement that Is it going to stop the server hopper from running into the woods and waiting a minute to log? No, but logging into the open field of Belota, then having to run in the open to where the items are, is not as safe as logging into one room really quickly, then leaving. Log out timers in game are what I am proposing because players should be locked INTO servers instead of OUT of them. Outside the server a hopper is safe. At least inside the server they can be killed."

    Is a backpack a necessary?

You can do just fine without a backpack, as long as you take advantage of other inventory increasing equipment/clothing and eat everything you see. All you really need is a slot for your bullets, a slot for a clean bandage, a slot for your can opener (you can get by with an axe), and one free slot to make inventory work easier. I usually manage to get by if a find a hoodie

How to REALLY solve 3pp issue

I don't get why this thread has so many comments. What a silly idea. How are you supposed to shoot someone on a 3pp only server??? Guesstimate where your cross hair is? Most of us know the 3PP cross hair doesn't represent where your bullets are actually going to land.

    DayZ with an Xbox controller

They're hard to master because they don't work half the time. Something as simple as taking your weapon out when you need it is difficult.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!

What I've been reduced to. Curse you dean!!! *shakes fist* In case you're wondering, two stacks of coins are necessary because I can't get my w to stick after double tapping. <_< Also, before anyone one else mentions it, that white shit in the front is probably what you think it is. The rest of the white shit is dust. No regrets. Flash reveals all.

Why can't my guy be shirtless?

Yes, but it would become a pandemic. I mean, doesn't bother me, I'll bring popcorn. Just saying why it probably is the way it is.

Why can't my guy be shirtless?

Sure, but it's still sexy. Sexy enough to inspire filthy gameplay :P

    No more mr nice guy

    Obviously
  20. You don't have to make it that complicated, at least not yet. Judge the distance, set the range, fire. Works for me. Making note of the range of popular sniping places using the ChenarusZDB map has helped me get a pretty good idea of range. Highly recommended. If I ever fail to kill my target, I plug the distance into the map to see if I was zeroed in correctly.

Why can't my guy be shirtless?

I think the reason you have a permanent undershirt is because you have the option of being a girl. Awkward dilemma averted.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!

I'm currently in the process of crafting the perfectly weighted tower of dimes. Must go run more errands to get more change! It just seems silly to me that so many players are going out of their way to do stuff like this. Can't we just have an auto run feature? Is it really that big of a deal? I understand why Rocket doesn't want it, but this is one of those instances where forcing his vision of the game just isn't practical... for anybody. It's not like it's actually stopping people from auto running anyway. It's just about some silly principle. An auto run key should be implemented for the sake of streamlining a really annoying and silly process that we shouldn't be a part of DayZ. I think the fans would appreciate the gesture. I know I would.
