Is the punctuation fairy on holiday?

I still think that if you change servers you should lose every metallic object in your inventory (a la THE LONG EARTH) Therefore, you can server hop all you like, but you will never be able to take your weapons with you. You would of course retain everything if you logged out and logged back into the original server. Yes there would be casualties if you de-synchronized. But I think the small amount of casualties (of war) would be acceptable. More stable servers would minimise the casualties. If you wanted to move servers to join your friends, then they would have to assist you in re equipping. Or there could be a built in timer. If you log out you can log back into any server without any loss after 1 hour? (or other arbitrary time set by the admins) My thoughts...flame away :)

When I first started with Dayz Standalone, I used to look for medium populated servers with a good ping. However, I now only play on ONE server. This is the only server I log into. What about you? Do you have a favourite, which you stick with or do you hop about hoping for a better experience (more loot / more players) elsewhere?

What server?

To 'retaliate' is to respond to an initial action. I dont think this sentence makes sense. I dont think you can preempt a retaliation. You can eliminate a possible threat; which is valid. But, as long as you are having fun; great! :)

What about 'Technicals'?

At present, your character starts with a torch and a battery. I don't know if this is to continue or there are to be changes. How about at character generation, you get to choose your starting equipment? Only two items: for example chose two of the following items- Swiss Army knife (with can opener) Water bottle Torch First aid kit Back pack Hunting knife Map Other ideas?

Yes, I can see that. So how far do you take it. Start with nothing at all? As if you just washed up on the beach. Just the clothes you stand in.

How about something like this. If you want to log out of the game, you need to make camp (maybe get a sleeping bag out or something similar?) If you log out without doing this, your character stands up in plain sight for 30 seconds?

Absolutely BRILLIANT. This is the best post on the forums! I love it how there's loads of guys who just 'don't get it'. wake up and get a sense of HUMOUR! Mooky and Itchy. Keep it coming. I have'nt laughed so hard in ages. But seriously, I know all of this MUST be true. Its on the internet.

Interesting idea. I would like to play on such a server, but not staff it. Not sure about how payments would work. I like the idea of a RP environment, without the server hopper, new spawn murderers. There would still need to be a lot of freedom for PvP within the RP, but if you declared yourself as a Bandit Gang leader etc...great. You could set yourself up as Mayor and recruit a security force, keeping the bandits and Zed's at bay. Great scope for developing a story. Hope this gets off the ground. Count me in.....I just need to work out a back story......... as leader of the defense force :) ...or something heroic. (possibly) :)

Has anyone read Terry Pratchett, the Long War? If you have, this may make more sense. In the Long Earth and the Long War, there are infinite worlds, all the same as each other, just a step away from each other (Servers). People can step from one reality into the next at will, infinite times. However, when they step, they cannot take anything metallic with them. How about introducing this into Dayz servers. Server hop or combat log as much as you want, but when you do, you lose anything metallic from your inventory. Just a thought :)

Well, what can I say. These guys are great. Found me in the dark and treated me after I lost my vision (Zombie attack) Then came back to help me again with a different treatment when the symptoms persisted. A great team of guys who make Dayz a pleasure. Genuinely helpful, a great resource. Support them when you can; because they will be there to help you. Excellent team work and a real difference to the KoS boys. Adds a great dimension to the game. Lets hope for more outfits like this!

Any ideas guys? Fully fed, and watered. You gave me a saline drip and pain killers, but still my vision has not recovered. No other symptoms.
