Yes video games have almost no effect, it's more of a way to just view thought processes. TV can have a slight effect on pretty much anyone if they watch far too much, and depending on what they watch. The cases where some teenager goes out and shoots people and afterwards says "I didn't know what I was doing, Halo made me think they would respawn." is total bs. That teenager knew exactly what he was doing. While violent video games can affect those who are already mentally unstable, far more obscure things push people over the edge far more often than games. -

A couple of military psychiatrists used to be my neighbors. Nice couple. Had 3 horses that they left outside in a tiny pen, no shelter, rarely any unfrozen water. One would bite the others out of boredom, so the husband would beat it with a bull whip. One of em finally died before they moved out, got too cold, even though we offered the guy horse blankets, heated water barrels, even offered to build a little barn for the poor things. Nope. Too stubborn and told us to keep our nose out of his business. (Not that we could. Watching the wife completely drunk, walking across horse shit in the backyard in high heels was too damn funny  ) In closing, there's a difference between psychologist and psychiatrist. Psychologists actually help you solve your deep rooted problems. It seems that psychiatrists pop people full of pills at the slightest notion of "I feel sad.", and usually develop problems themselves because they hear so much doom and gloom and don't know how to deal with it. I'm probably being biased and made some psychiatrist upset. :D -
What part of the 'life cycle' do you enjoy most?

The part when you're geared up and you have the chance to save a couple of survivors from death by kos'er. -
Yep. Same here. It doesn't matter if the server is friggin empty, someone will join, and you will just happen to spawn right next to em. Consider yourself lucky that you had nothing to lose. :) Just remember, as soon as you spawn, head north, stick to the woods until you're a little ways out, and keep your head on a swivel. (Use the * key on the numpad. while running.)

Why are road signs in Russian, but books are in English?

Yes, that thing is amazing. Always pick it up. -
Welcome to DayZ! :D (Mosins kill you so fast often times it looks like you just dropped dead for no reason. There's also a glitch that can cut-off the sound of the gun.)

1. Join empty server/near empty server. 2. Go north. 3. ??? 4. Profit $$$ The loot spawning is just fine, you're looking in overlooted areas.

Actually, I've almost finished my psychology course. (Of course, that doesn't by any means make me a professional. ;)) People who try to justify violence tend to become more violent themselves. While video games don't have near the effect of people that tv does, you can still see some thought processes from it. It is shown that when violence is justified, I.E. "It's okay, I killed a bad guy", it sub-consciously makes people feel better about future violence they commit. While OP doesn't by any means need medical help, (Perfectly mentally healthy people are rare to impossible.) the thought processes are, on a very, very tiny scale, the thought processes of a murderer. (Don't worry, OP, that doesn't mean anything is wrong with you, it's quite common, you aren't gonna become an axe murderer. :P) Anyway, just an interesting thing to look into. DayZ can actually tell you a lot about the human mind. -

You misread. I was calling regular, non-bandit kos'ers cowards, not bandits. Their reasoning being "I've been killed a lot so I'm just gonna kill whoever I see." Not everyone with a gun wants to use it to kill other people. -
Wow. Even from the forums, huh?
-
I think it Fallout says it the best: "War. War never changes." Which means that, when the world has all but ended, when all government has been destroyed, even when humanity has every reason to band together against a common threat...they don't. Because war...war never changes.

Once it starts saying something along the lines of "I feel exhausted", that means it's about over. There are particular stages of sickness. A good place to look might be the dayz wiki, or the Reddit Rescue Team manual. Both helped me diagnose how to proceed with first aid. Get well soon! :D

Listen here...nothing will convince the kos robots to stop being cowards. Nothing! :D

You are still mildly sick. Continue staying hydrated and fed.

Why does everyone say "Oh you don't kos 'cause you can't play the game and you're looking for an excuse for your deaths." Helping people out requires the most chance taking, the most bravery of any other play style in the game. And since when was kos fun? If I wanted to go around shooting everybody on Chernarus, I'd just play ARMA 2 Free for all. (Which wouldn't be very fun.) It's so mindbogglingly retarded that it's established that no one can ever trust anyone unless they know them irl. Give people a goddamn chance for once. Teamwork is what makes this game so much fun. Not harping on bandits at all, but if you're just some coward who shoots me "because he doesn't want to take the chance", then maybe you're in the wrong game. Of course there's always situations when there's, for example, a guy with his gun out, and you just walked in front of him. You don't have a choice; you must shoot him, or you very well might die. If you're worried about getting shot, quit running in the open. I know it's been said a thousand times before, but you can't be killed on sight if you're not in sight. -
TBH you were at the airfield...you gotta expect that.
-
Well...I was on Delta Halo, and the jackal snipers showed up...

Come get some! Kill on Sight expected and encouraged!

Lol kos is for people who are afraid to die. -
Or you could just play hardcore...? What the hell would even be the point of still having TP if everything is invisible?

Yes, obviously everyone was riding bikes in the mod, we need to nerf it.

The 30 year old 1337 pro who goes around shooting every unarmed player in chernarus.
