    This is the only part I'm going to quote you on. Three items needed to get the lathe running. Three..... Coolant, bits and a power source. Vehicles will most likely even have more than three just to get the functional so I think I was being extremely lenient on the "realism". Again, I like the idea of using them to repair or even craft but not in the way you want it even just for a quick early version. What I mean is if they do take in this idea, don't half ass it and at least put in some form of place holder mechanic to use it. Hell, I can't stand the lack of animations for how we drink water from a fountain, we don't even use the pump lol.

    Where did I say it had to be realistic? I just said your idea is bad because, well it is. Just walk up and voila, you magically repair whatever item needs repairing. All I said was it should have to be setup and maintained exactly like they would do vehicles. Was that so hard to grasp?

    I'm all for the idea of using the lathes in the machine shop but I believe they should have to be fixed up like cars and also require the proper tools to use them. They obviously don't need to go to extremities to operate them such as apply the right amount of pressure and angles on the item being crafted or repaired. Needing proper coolant to apply to the bits and metals that are being lathed, a source for powering them(this is the tricky one and kid of the reason why i don't think we'll ever see them being used), finding the right bit(s) to bore your holes with. I kid you not when I tell you operating a lathe isn't as easy as 1-2-3. Hell even CnC machining you need to program all your directions in order for the machine to do a proper cut.

    I've lost faith in the community. Incessant little whiners all over these forums. One group is screaming "HACKS HACKS HACKS", another group is screaming "PVP ONLY GAME", another group is screaming "PVE ONLY GAME" , another group is screaming "FIX THIS BROKEN SHIT THAT I PAID FOR", and another group derails every thread complaining about ammo types.

    Oh I know you aren't but what I meant is people would still take advantage of like like they did with the humanity system. Whether or not it can only be seen by a 1v1 contact doesn't change the fact that someone could easily skew the stats just to get people to trust them and then easily take them out. That's what makes DayZ so good, not knowing. I don't care if the KoS'ers whine. I don't care if the anti-KoS'ers whine.

    I have to disagree with your idea RAM. Stats in general do not fit in with DayZ. Don't get me wrong, body language is usually the best way to tell if you can trust someone and it would be hard to simulate that in a game but that is why DayZ is unique. Trust in DayZ is something that is hard to earn but you don't need stats to do that and it failed miserably in the mod with the humanity system or whatever it was called. For example, someone could easily go around killing infected and rack up a good kill count just to fool someone into thinking they aren't a bad person and them, blam, you get shot in the face or in the back. Best thing to do is use these forums to get to know more people and friend them, add them to steam and do some gaming sessions with them but in the end, still don't trust anyone.

    Ummm, I'm not sure if this is a totally feasible idea as engine lathes require a lot of juice(electricity) in order to operate. On top of that, knowing how to even operate one isn't as easy as 1-2-3 so it would be hell of a lot more difficult than putting up a tent or loading a magazine. You'd need coolant during the procedure as to not destroy your bits, well, the bits, the right type of bit, knowing the proper angles, the speed, etc etc.

    Awww man. I was just having an epic battle with infected in Novoselky after seeing another survivor being chased by them. I told him I had a machete and I would kill them. Well, I eventually had about 5 of them on me lol and I told him if I survived he could have my hunters backpack. Then the server restarted :(. I'm sorry man with accent, it was quite fun tho.

    580 hours in, not a single hacker encountered and yes, I go to the high traffic zones. People are just coming up with excuses for being bad at the game and have to blame something.

    What proof that is there that hacking is totally out of control besides the same videos that keep being posted? You keep asking BE to provide proof that they are doing something. Provide proof that hacking seems to be out of control.

    Well you see the problem is that people are so used to being coddled with the game telling them what to do that the minute they have no direction they tend to tell you how to play even tho there is no right or wrong way to play. Now people are going around saying that in order to play the game you need XXX gear with XXX weapon otherwise you are doing it wrong. One group is telling people this is a PvP only game, another group is saying it's a PvE only game, me, this is whatever you want to make of it. Hell, we have a goddamn sticky thread dedicated to KoS'ing because for some strange reason it should be against the games rules to kill whatever you feel like killing. And then we have this thread of people wanting an "anti-tank rifle"? For what purpose?? DayZ doesn't need every damn gun known to man in it to make it what it is. I guess it could be cool but then how the hell do you balance something that is obviously not been designed to work on a human or even a fricking car??

    Nice, next we can add tanks for the anti-tank rifle to be used on, followed by fighter jets and attack helicopters and then eventually nukes. I like it. :thumbsup:
