Only to get overwhelmed by hordes of infected therefore fleeing, taking the what supplies and survivors they can in helicopters and vehicles leaving the military bases barren only to find out that some of the survivors they brought with them were infected themselves and attacked them in mid flight causing a fatal crash somewhere way out in the ocean. The remainder went off the radar hundreds of kilometers outside of Chernarus never to be heard of again.

Time to reduce run speed with vehicles inbound?

I agree and there is a video in the gallery that shows the V3S is only about 3 times faster than what we run right now but I fear you will be met with opposition claiming about it being too hard to find a vehicle to justify slowing our movement speed down. -
Both options are good. I'd like to start with a beard and have it grow longer over time.

Base building is not what you think it's going to be and we will not be building fortresses from chopping a few trees and mining a couple of rocks. That would make turrets as moot suggestion as you won't have a fortress to mount them to. Zombie raids, again probably not going to happen And quests is another not happening as the developers are designing DayZ around player interactions and this is not an mmorpg. Now with that said I am 110% positive that someone will make the game you want from DayZ once they allow modding to come in. I believe it will be called Epoch SA.

The spawn timer should double for every time you kill yourself within 30 secs of spawning. You spawn in and don't like it, jump off a building - wait 30 seconds to spawn. Don't like your second spawn and decide to kill yourself within 30 seconds of spawning in - 1 minute Still don't like it and again kill yourself within 30 seconds - 2 mins and so fourth.

Totally agree. It's just sad to see the resources they wasted on making that island and it's been useless for months.....

To go onto what the OP was talking about, people have been begging for 100+ man servers, and the OP is worried about lack of loot on a 50 man? Of course there isn't going to be any loot left on a 100+ man server. Also server hoppers is what is ruining the idea of persistence.

Placeholder mechanics......... it's to show you the basic functions of how the survival aspect is going to work and is by no means close to the final mechanics of it. You do know this is an Alpha, right?

Lmfao, you aren't forced to do shit. You do not have to grow tomatoes, which will not be the only thing they are going to be adding so that already throws your game plan out the window, you aren't forced to scavenge for food. Hell, you aren't forced to do anything in the game but don't come crying to the forums because you died from starving and freezing to death while running to a military base.

Why waste resources on multiple game modes when they, Bohemia, have already created what you're looking for. It's called Wasteland and it's on Arma 3.

Exactly, let them kill themselves over and over, trying to get the spawn that gets them back to their bodies because by the time they finally get it I would have already looted their corpse and have moved about 3 more towns away.

Increase player interaction by non-trivializing "civilian tasks"

Yup, this game is not going to be like Rust where you can gather a few sticks and a couple stones and bam, you got a house. A friend of mine made a topic about it in January, http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/162376-if-dayz-had-rust-minecraft-esque-style-crafting/#entry1636737, which he was immediately trampled over by moderators and the thread was locked and yarded. I also agree with horticulture, it should take a couple of play sessions(days) before you start to see any results and if you also do not tend to them it should cause a chance of your crop dying.
