I've been hoping that objects can be hazardous obstacles. Bursting into a house, tripping and knocking over chairs, catching your foot on branches in the woods, stuff like that.

This I totally agree with this, the rest of your post I do not. We should be spawning in with our current clothing tattered and torn. Enough room for that damn flashlight that comes with a battery in it. That will then give us the choice and opportunity to wear track pants or canvas pants. On the other hand tho, the way we start is generous enough to at least get people on their way and everything we can find is how we want to look. If you want to look like an elite soldier the gear is there. If you want to look like trailer trash..... the gear hopefully will be there.

Because it's not yours and nor is your gear. You drop that rifle and switch to another server, guess what, you have no rifle. If it's on you, yes it goes with you. You cannot store a V3S on you.

I've let a few of my friends know about the server and to add it to their favorites. Hoping to get some time in this weekend to hunt you bastards down :murder:

Most likely not but other vehicles will be added, cars, bikes, scooters, hopefully some tractors but as I stated above by this point the mechanics should be in for vehicle repair so you won't just find one and hop in and go vroom.

You are aware that this game is not going to be played like GTA, right? The vehicle we have now eventually will need parts to even get it running which means you will still be doing a lot of walking around and trying to, ahem, survive. Right now we as players have it extremely easy with how the game works. Zombies are a joke, survival is a joke but all of that is going to slowly get harder and more grueling so you should ask yourself, is this the game for you? Can you handle playing for days finally getting some decent gear, parts for a vehicle only to have it all taken from you with a single bullet. What about not finding the right clothes to keep yourself warm and you freeze to death? Can you handle all that? That's not including getting sick, starving because you can't find food, getting eaten by infected, players wanting to eat you. DayZ is only going to get harder so be prepared.

You know, the expiry dates on the items in the game don't mean jack. Everything could be expired. You guys are just thumping your chests.

Keep a pen and piece of paper on you at all times with the message, "I am mute, please don't kill me. PS: Can I have this note back". You can then drop on the ground in front of a player and with luck they will pick it up to read it giving you time to put a bullet in their head :D

Exactly. Too many people see the minimum specs and go, "Oh I have 4gigs of ram, not realizing that windows itself is using about 2 gigs of that, throw other background processes in the mix and you're left with nothing.

Same here. I have not eaten any other player(yet), and my character is doing the same thing. Definitely makes for interesting gameplay.

Stamina is absolutely vital. I did a test. Found a sign that said 3 km to Krastnostav. It took me just over 8 mins to get there which averages about 22.5 km/h. Which is about average running speed but to be able to sustain that is fairly absurd unless you are a trained athlete. Character movement needs tuning. It feels like we're side stepping at almost the same speed which and being able to turn and sprint instantly is terrible. Also adding momentum from added weight would be good as well.

Pretty much but we could possibly sacrifice the backpack for a rifle holster. One rifle with the sling and one in the holster strapped to your back. Then still carry a third in your hands.

Why not? People are already expecting to build fortesses out of sticks and stone. Slap metal metal plates and spikes on vehicles. May as well do this.
