Do or did you run any programs outside the game that may or may not effect your gameplay?

How do/can servers MAKE money?
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
That's interesting considering we need to verify our age just to get on the website. -
can we get a statement on bases and vehicles ETA.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to dgeesio's topic in General Discussion
Vehicles will be implemented when they get implemented. Begging and whining won't speed up the process. If the devs to succumb to the begging and whining and implement them early, people will just bitch about how broken they are. So let them do their fricking job so it can be done right. -

1.5 million in sales doesn't speed up the development process. -
The nature of public hives effectively destroy the challenge of surviving.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to froggan's topic in General Discussion
we are testing on public test servers for testing. There would be too much to go wrong with private servers and using resources to fix those would be pointless. -

Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to froggan's topic in General Discussion
Private hives are nice but only if the admin isn't a douche and modifies it to easy mode, kicks because their buddies get killed or gives themselves and friends the advantage by giving them items. -
character progression ... CONFIRMED
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to elLoCo's topic in General Discussion
So when do stats come in, I'll only want people with the best stuff in my groups? Oh, and we'll need a DayZ armory so I can look players up and see if they are worthy. -
Yes, DayZ is very easy at the moment. It's for testing purposes. This "Early Access Alpha" is at most 10-20% complete before it even hits beta. For what is in it right now, the game is very playable and we can do all the basic features, that have bugs, which is what we are testing. Features are slowly getting implemented as they weed out the current bugs. It'd be foolish for them to start implementing more features to test for bugs before they iron out the current ones. So as they add more, the game will more than likely get harder. Hopefully <_<

Why Were The Zombies Changed So Drastically Between Now And August?
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to King of kong's topic in General Discussion
You wouldn't get must testing done if you were constantly killed by "infected" -
To people who think kiling bambis is wrong check this out

Killing bambi's = one less threat later in the game -
Persistent storage containers; do you like the idea or not?
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to -MadTommy's topic in General Discussion
Ya, let's remove the main aspect of DayZ and turn it into a corpse run game. And if someone could link the confirmation that base building, not fortifying the already made housing, is going to be in the game that would be great. -

Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to -MadTommy's topic in General Discussion
Don't die? If this is the direction they are going then they may as well rename the game from DayZ to ARMA lite. Also, there has been confirmation on what kind of base bnuilding will be put into the game outside of barricading houses already in game -
Persistent storage containers; do you like the idea or not?
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to -MadTommy's topic in General Discussion
I think some of you are reading into the word persistent too much. I believe it's going to be persistent through server restarts, because servers will restart eventually, but upon death, you should lose your tent and items. Persistent + perma-death = oxymoron -
Today while playing with two friends on Balota Book Exchange, a hardcore server, we were at Novy Sobor when I was trying to meet up with them at the barns. There was a lot of dsync happening and players losing connectivity. I told them I couldn't find them and they were telling me I was right in front of them. I could see neither of them for over 5 mins. I then finally got the red chain of death and poof, the appeared out of thin air. They could have easily shot me and if this were just random players I could easily see how people could mistake this for a hack.

Realistic (SweetFX) lighting preset for Standalone.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Intactus's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much. It's a shader injector. -
You can buy it now but be warned that this is "Early Access Alpha" therefore full of bugs and glitches. You don't have to test the game or even play it but it is worth the price and, imo, worth the testing. I haven't touched any other game since playing the standalone.

Sorry. in Host: type in experimental That is basically the server name

Realistic (SweetFX) lighting preset for Standalone.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Intactus's topic in General Discussion
FFS dude, I've used sweetfx on other games, all single player, such as skyrim. Why only single player games? Because, if you actually did a search on the what sweetfx does you "can" not "could" get banned. This topic made to warn users before they get banned, and maybe to get some help. Hela! Right after I've installed "SweetFX" graphic mod on my OS, I've played COD:BO and GW2. At the next morning, I've got banned from both games. @ GW2, they checked it and unlocked my account with an apology. @ COD:BO, I've tried to contact with the support by opening a ticket, but the employee called "Grant" refuses to cooperating, breaking the rules of Customer Protection, and agressively repeating closing my ticket with unacceptable behavior. Source: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3074493 Also, here you go. Some education for you. http://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2013/07/can-or-could/ -
Realistic (SweetFX) lighting preset for Standalone.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Intactus's topic in General Discussion
Reading is not your strong point apparently. Yes, I'll keep going if you want and I personally don't care if it gets this thread closed. First off, I said could get you banned not can. Second, I gave an alternative for people who use Nvidia cards so they don't have to go through the struggle of the terrible instructions. Third, I swapped out my 560ti for an HiS 7850 because it was a cheaper alternative to having to spend $600+ for a video card and it blows the 560 out of the water. -
Invisble player is not a hack.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Caboose187 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Just like what happened to my friends in my OP which is what I stated in my post. They literally appeared out of nowhere which to some would seem like a teleport. -

Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Intactus's topic in General Discussion
Did I say the software was piss poor? No. Did I call it silly? Yes. Did I say the instructions are piss poor? No. Your fighting for the sake of fighting now. You're the only one hating here because "I" came out with a better alternative to having downloaded software which could result in getting banned. -
Realistic (SweetFX) lighting preset for Standalone.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Intactus's topic in General Discussion
What hate? And did you miss the part where I said "anymore". I was stating that the instructions for sweetfx are garbage and for the average user it would confuse the hell out of them. Instead, using Nvidia's digital vibrance gives just as good of an effect instead of using an outside program. -
Realistic (SweetFX) lighting preset for Standalone.
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Intactus's topic in General Discussion
I'm not running Nvidia anymore and yes, digital Vibrance works just as good. And like I posted before, the instructions for sweetfx are shit and for the average user, they would have zero clue and how to use it.
