No, but it makes people assume their character has been wiped then come to forums to rage about it. Then you never hear from them again because I guarantee that they got their character back. Anyway, i'm done with you because all you ever do is try to argue with people. -

I think the easiest way to tell the difference is when you log in. If you start fresh on the beach, glitch, if you log in dead, most likely killed. Also, some hosters aren't displaying their modes properly. I've logged on to what should be a hardcore server and have my regular character. So personally, it's not an issue with the game, it's an issue with the hosting company not saving characters properly. -

Ya, I knew what I was getting into when I bought the SA. I played the mod back in it's good days. The problem, outside of the KoS'ing, is that a lot of players played the easy mode version of the mod that handed out loot like candy and turned it into a strictly pvp match with no survival aspects so that's what they expect here. Anyway, DayZ is still a pvp game, christ, it'd be like bitching on the BF forums about getting KoS'd. -

What I'm saying is a lot of the complaints about wipes, sure not all, but the majority is most likely from them logging off in a not quite so safe place and either having an infected chew their face off or have been killed by someone passing by. Hell, I've killed the random guy sitting on the ground just because they were dumb enough to log off in the open. -

I think your mates are not who the appear to be :murder: :bandit: :murder: :bandit: 256 hours in and I have never had a character wiped -
I couldn't find a topic on this so I apologize if this has been mentioned. Feel free to delete or merge. Has anyone else noticed if DayZ eats up all their internet bandwidth? There is times when I'm searching for servers that it just seems to take forever so I'll minimize to go browse and all of a sudden I can't even connect to a single web page. I'll close DayZ down and after a few minutes everything is back to normal. What gives?

Played BP for 2 mins, said, meh, half assed rip off. Turned it off. Turned on Dayz for 3 hours, went, ahh yaaa!!. Personally, DayZ's graphics look way better than Arma 3 -

Well I have the 50mb connection through Shaw and I can usually stream, download pr0n :P (j/k), watch Netflix, play online all at the same time. I don't actually do all this at the same time but I have tested it. I've also noticed this with DayZ commander(unrelated to the SA, I know) -

You could attach it to the portable cooking stove, which is also working, but it's doesn't cook anything yet.(Experimental) -
I've stated this multiple times already, some 1pp players have friends who only play 3pp so that kind of forces them, unless they don't play with their friends, to play on a 3pp server and yes, while they have the option to use 3pp they don't which puts them at a sever disadvantage. Their only options is to play the cheap way, don't play the cheap way and get killed more often than they would on a 1pp or don't play with their friends.

KoS will keep happening until the devs fine tune the elements to actually play a role. Mr sniper won't be taking shots so openly once they've alerted every single infected in the area to their exact location and ammo being scarce. Don't get me wrong, adding more elements won't stop or break the habit but it will cause a lot more deaths to the KoS'er. -
My money is 3pp. He definitely has big height and reach advantage over 1pp. Hell, 1pp won't even see him coming

Yes because the military left everything behind and mysteriously vanished :rolleyes: . Don't get me wrong, I am for "some" military gear, but that's all people through around these forums. Jesus christ, there is way to much hoorah going on around here. Ball caps, bike, football and hockey helmets I think would and should be way more common than looking like a marine.

I personally believe people complaining about wipes have actually been killed during their 30 logout. Be it an infected or another player. -
