I just found out.. there are different servers?
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I've had the same issue before except mine was a regular labelled, as in server type, as hardcore. I've also noticed some servers, never bothered to get their details because I never went back to them, don't save characters at all. -

Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I haven't noticed different version numbers but I am pretty sure if you go back to that server that said it was hardcore, it'll be regular. Some of the servers aren't configured properly to the hive and some don't save characters at all. -
Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Spinnyd223's topic in General Discussion
The OP didn't ask. This is a complete whine thread about the speed of the updates. As myself and many have pointed out, if you aren't ready to be part of games growth from "Alpha" until release, then you shouldn't be here. Hell there is a goddamn sticky that states you shouldn't buy this game if you are not wanting to participate in the development. Whining, calling the devs lazy, saying this game sucks, it's taking too long is not constructive feedback. There is way too many people who purchased this game not willing to partake in it's growth and are just throwing temper tantrums like BiS owes them everything. My only advice is to just walk away and come back in a year or two.. -
Will DayZ SA die out to Mods just like the Mod did?
Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to cywehner1234's topic in General Discussion
It all comes down to simplicity. The majority of players don't want to have to think when they play games. This have been prevalent through out the gaming industry when you see posts such as "I don't have the time to do this" or "I have a job, games shouldn't be a second job". So players will flock to the most simplistic games or mods of games to get their enjoyment. -

Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to Spinnyd223's topic in General Discussion
You don't understand it's an Alpha. You just compared an Alpha to a mod that has been put into a complete game. Just go play Breaking Point then and come back when DayZ is released if you do not want to participate in the Alpha by testing. You do realize this is for testing and not playing, right? -
Is this on the stable or experimental? I was having this issue on the stable branch a couple of dayz ago. Now it's working fine. Don't know why.

That's pretty much it. People wanted to play soldier instead of a survivor game. It's weird because you need Arma 2 to play it. -

If you read his post you would have seen, "The server will be main hive, regular and we will be waiting to at least after the update is applied" -

You are there for 30 seconds. You can be shot and killed, looted, handcuffed, force fed rotten food/disinfectant etc -

The only trolls in the thread, Rick, are you, the OP and everyone who agrees with he OP. You were warned before in putting a dime down not to buy this game but you did anyway so just stfu and suck it up, or leave. Plain and simple. -

Caboose187 (DayZ) replied to cywehner1234's topic in General Discussion
Gamers like things easy and everything handed to them on a sliver platter. Of course there is going to be a hell of a lot more who would want a modded server. Thousands of cars everywhere, start with whatever gun you want, less about survival more about just being a shooter. -

This thread in a nutshell -
Post your PC specs, in game settings and FPS here
Caboose187 (DayZ) posted a topic in General Discussion
Not sure if there is already a thread made as the search function doesn't seem to show anything related to what I'm typing so I'd like to start a thread that people can post the PC specs, in game settings and the fps that they are getting so we can maybe help each other out. If you need a program to show you're fps here is a link for one. It's a video recording program but you don't have to use it for that. http://www.bandicam.com/ . The full program does cost money as it will leave a watermark on the free version. If anyone else has other programs please feel free to post the links as well. My specs are as followed: P8Z77-V LE Plus MOBO / i7-3770k @ 4.4 ghz / 16gb G-Skill 1600Mhz / Gigabyte R9 270X 2gb(My sig shows CPU at 4.6, I just recently clocked it down) 1Tb 7200rpm HDD In game settings Video: Rendering Resolution @ 1920x1080 / VSync Enabled / Resolution User Interface: Resolution @ 1920x1080 Textures: Video Memory - Auto / Texture Detail - Very High / Texture Filtering - Very High Quality: Objects - Very High / Terrain - Very High / Clouds - High / Shadows - High Rendering: AA - Normal / Alpha to Coverage - All Trees + Grass / Edge Smoothing - SMAA Normal / HDR Quality - Low / Ambient Occlusion - Enabled / PP - Normal I get around 45-50 fps out in the open and drop down to around 30 fps in the larger cities. Mods, delete this thread if this has already been discussed to death or there is already a topic on it. Thanks. I posted a link to where you can see what is being worked on. Read it, learn it and understand it. And yes, it has everything to do with this thread and why there is slow development. Fuck sakes, can a mod please close this bitch thread down already. My canteens are overflowing with tears. -

My quote wasn't pointed at you directly. It was to point out that these threads, such as this one, are not constructive in helping out the flaws in the game. It's just self entitled whiny people who assume that because they put money down that they have every right to complain even tho every time they start the game up they have this popping up every goddamn time. -

There is a huge, H-U-G-E, difference in pointing out flaws and making suggestions than making posts whining about the speed of development. Perhaps try following this http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/177017-pending-changelog-experimental-branch-042116002/ and learn to understand why patches get put off. Here I'll even copy a small piece from it just so you get a better idea. Network: Issues in some cases of zombies, or players potentially being invisible. Is that what you want going live into the stable branch?? -

Why is this thread open? It brings nothing to the table to help in way way, shape or form to the development team. It's just another whine thread about self entitled people who have no business participating in an alpha. -
